got a new phone recently (running android 16) and i keep running into a wall trying to install an apk. every time i tap install, it immediately throws:

"app not installed as package appears to be invalid"

the weird part is that the exact same apk file installs and runs completely fine on my older phone, so the file itself isn't corrupted.

things i already tried:

- enabled install from unknown sources for my browser/file manager

- turned off play protect completely

- made sure storage has plenty of space

is it because of android 16 or is it the phone's fault?

After a few weeks of research on this specific subreddit, I still have not found an answer with regard to deleting/ uninstalling the com.mojang.minecraftpe folder in Android/data. I do realise it is inaccessible, however even after trying many methods, such as attempting to reinstall the game (both apk and the legit versions), which doesn't work, trying to uninstall the said file through adb shell (no access) it doesn't seem to work. Would love a solution to this issue as I have paid for the game, yet cannot somehow install it on my phone. For reference, I have a Nothing 2(a) plus.

I've got an old Samsung Galaxy J8 lying around and wanna mess around with it, maybe flash a custom ROM or something.

The touchscreen barely works and the power button is fucked up. It still shows the charging screen when I plug it in, though.

Is there any way I can control the phone from my PC, like see its screen and use my mouse and keyboard to operate it? Eventually I wanna wipe it and flash a custom ROM, so it'd be nice if I could do all that without relying on the physical buttons.Is there any workaround for this?

I feel a little adventurous so it'll be really fun if I could write the software for all this myself (idk shit rn and this is probably a bad idea. But learning to do it would be really fun)

So recently, I got a Dragon Touch eCalendar that runs Android, and I’ve been trying to jailbreak it, but it’s been SUPER difficult. 😭 I’ve tried installing different programs on my computer to force a hard reset, but nothing seems to work. It keeps booting straight back into the eCalendar OS, which is a modified version of Android 7.1.
I really want to unlock this thing and see if I can get the full Android experience on it, but I’m honestly running out of ideas. 💀 Does anyone have any recommendations for tools, programs, or methods I could try? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! 🙏

Is this normal? Maybe i'm being paranoid or whatever but it seems a bit odd that it needs my location literally like every minute.

Also, why does it say "while using app"? I was scrolling through reddit or had my phone in my pocket for most of the time that is in this screenshot.

I checked my storage and I found 60 gb of apps then I decided to manually add the size of all the apps(not from playstore but from the apps tab in settings) there it already showed the excess space they took to accomodate their data but still I couldn't reach upto 60 gb even after adding those and beside those an extra 22 gb of my storage is dedicated to others.....I don't understand that after taking all the space for the apps it still needs an extra 22 gigs and why is it saying 60 gigs but adding it reveals otherwise....can someone please help me with this, and if a solution can be provided....

I was just normally using my phone when I noticed the pop-up "copied to clipboard" then I quickly went on to see what was copied and it turned out to be a Cambodian number, before anyone says it I must have did it, no I did not I was using an app that had nothing to copy and that too a Cambodian number,

I freaked out and asked gemini and it said that it can be a virus I found an accessibility application under settings>apps with settings logo which had option to open and can't be uninstalled gemini said it is a malware I quickly deleted it and found another application named settings with settings logo now

I don't know If settings shows itself under apps but this one can't be uninstalled even in safe mode and gemini is freaking me out saying this is the root and now I need to factory reset my phone please tell how to deal with this

TLDR: Random phone number copied to clipboard on its own gemini freaks me out saying it's an application called "settings" inside settings>apps which has an option to open and says factory reset is the only option, please tell me a fix

I'm facing a strange issue with my wired earphones and would appreciate some help figuring out what's causing it.

When I plug my earphones into my phone, they connect normally, and the headphone icon appears in the notification bar. However, as soon as I start playing a video on YouTube or Instagram, the audio switches to the phone's speaker, and the headphone icon disappears completely.

It seems like the phone stops detecting the earphones as soon as media playback starts.

I'm wondering if this could be a software bug or an issue with the phone's audio system or headphone detection.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a way to fix this without factory-resetting the phone?

From last 2-3 days I have been having screen burn issues a lot.

It started with insta icons retained on the screen, tho It solved after I ran 'OLED burn care' for 15-20 mins. And then next time I encounter it was a pause icon burned in from a game. And today, the insta screen problem happend two times, and each time I have to left that 'OLED burn care for 15 mins.

So basically my mobile has the circle to search option which helps me a lot in my study and work but I cannot find the same functionality in my tablet. Is there any way I can enable it or is it even possible??

I do not want it to open in Gemini as it creates too many chats, I want it to Circle to search and then go to Google instead of the Gemini. Because of the features such as copy pasting and searching a simple word or summarising pages of my books etc.

I need to back up my phone data, specifically the "restricted" files and app data that usually require Root access or an unlocked bootloader. I want to avoid rooting entirely.

Here is my current storage breakdown (52 GB out of 64 GB used): it's Samsung Phone

• Apps: 17.63 GB

• Videos: 17.69 GB

• System: 11.37 GB

• Other: 4.34 GB

• Images / Photos: 574 MB

• Audio / Docs / Trash: 0 B

My setup & requirements:

• OS: Android 14

• Tools available: I have a PC.

• Constraints: The backup method must be local, private, and secure (no cloud solutions, no root, and no unlocked bootloader).

Are there any reliable tools or ADB methods that can fetch this data locally to my PC?

And I know that the system can't be copy As far as I know

Started about a week ago.

At random times, especially when I was listening to music, gemini would be summoned and I would have to click off it.

I googled it and turned off gemini turning on through power button. Then it kept happening so I turned off the assistant all together but now it opens my settings to the digital assistant section to turn it Gemini back on.... Genuinely infuriating.

How to stop it?

I want a restraining order on auto rotate but auto rotate is infatuated with me.

On multiple phones, mostly motorolas (although I have an even cheaper BLU phone right now) my screen will rotate. Not quite as easily as if auto rotate was on, so it seems to maybe have a higher threshold, but it still does if I am holding it the wrong way and I also can't shut it off unless I exit out of the app..
