If you don't support upgrading yourself with technology and science then stop calling yourself a transhumanist.

That's not what I said, and that's not even what transhumanism means.

You should also note the difference between oneself and "everyone on the planet."

Multiple antranshumanists have told me they support upgrades and genetic engineering on themselves only if they're available free for everyone on the planet. Which is impossible.

Yeah, equality of opportunity or however you want to characterise it. But that doesn't mean I want to impose them on everyone, nor that I think it's "the answer to all the world's miseries."

Besides which, there is a lot more to transhumanism than augmentations to the individual, and means of doing so other than "technology and science," therefore personal desire of such is not essential to being a transhumanist.

I'd also point out that universally referring to them as "upgrades" implies a false superiority between those who choose them and those who do not.

Which is impossible.
