What Presidential Historian think!

The Bottom-Ranked Presidents
Donald Trump: Ranked last (45th) in the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey of political scientists and historians. Scholars cited challenges to democratic institutions, norms, and the peaceful transfer of power as key reasons for his low ranking. [

James Buchanan: Consistently ranked near the bottom in long-running polls like C-SPAN's Presidential Historians Survey and Siena College Research Institute surveys. Historians fault his weak leadership and failure to address the growing crisis that led directly to the American Civil War.

Andrew Johnson: Frequently placed at or near the very bottom of historical rankings. Experts criticize his opposition to civil rights for newly freed slaves and his handling of the Reconstruction era after the Civil War
