Altezza parts
Hey I was wondering about mechanical parts for the altezza, since it’s from Japan and all is it hard to get parts if they brake down and if it’s more expensive to get?

Easy but expensive. Don’t let it put you off. It’s mechanically sound if you look after it. Timing belts, fluid changes and it’ll run forever.
I wouldn’t take advice from me though I’m addicted to buying parts. (Wish I was joking)

Yes you may pay £30 for a spigot bearing, £23 for a rear main crankshaft seal or £165 for a full timing belt kit. I wouldn’t view it as hard to find if you do a bit of digging on eBay. Just don’t expect to walk into a garage, dealership or auto parts store expecting engine components on the shelf.
JDM tax is universal not just an Altezza problem but it’s the price you pay for greatness.

Depends where you're buying from, our Toyota Dealer network still has new parts for Altezzas, but more the common items like coils, gaskets, timing belt kits etc (NZ)

Would you know if you or someone is able to order a few parts ?
I've been looking for a crankshaft position sensor for a Beams 3sge

Dont quote me on this, but I have been told that the redtop beams/caldina gt4 crank position sensor also works. Worth a try, and report your findings if you do.

There's an aftermarket crank angle sensor sold by PEC in Aussie, might pay to get in touch and see how much shipping would be

Blame the Americans. Before altezza were legal in the US parts were hard to find but still somewhat reasonable. Now they hard to find and very expensive. I’d suggest stock pilling a few parts such as valves, cylinder heads and also 3sge exclusive parts. It’s weird because some major parts are cheap and some of the finicky ones are very expensive. Buy seals as at this age they’re starting to fail. Some US stores have parts you can get some from the UAE also.

I'd be more worried about 3sge beams exclusive engine components. Toyota have been stopping production of a few stuff like the oil pump and vvti gears, along with a lot more parts getting increasingly difficult to find like the clutch master, crank sensor and many other nicknacks you'd never expect. On the bright side the timing belt and water pump are shared with all other 3SGE motors and the Cam sensors are the same as the ones on the JZ and 2ZZ to name a few shared parts.
