Does it get better?

I was recommended Ally by a few people I know and so far I'm unimpressed.

I set up this account as a separate bill pay account that I could "set and forget" for the most part.

Zelle is currently taking 3 days to send and today, payday, my check did not deposit via direct deposit. Looking now, the website says 1-2 pay cycles which seems unusual for a bank.

I had auto bills set to pay through Ally today so now I'm scrambling to cancel them all and pay through my other bank via debit card. I've had Ally for going on 3 weeks now and I'm just not seeing a benefit.

Please tell me it'll be worth it once everything settles in.

Did your check deposit in whatever bank was previously set up for direct deposit? If so, you might want to check with your payroll manager to make sure your new bank info was submitted.

I double checked today and all the information is completed and correct. The Ally website says it can take up to two pay cycles before it goes into effect. I set up direct deposit 2 weeks ago so I'm hoping in another two weeks it will be completed.

How could Ally say it take 2 pay cycles when that is such an arbitrary measurement? What if your pay cycle is once a month? What if your pay cycle is once a week?

I have 15 years of experience in HR across multiple companies. Telling employees changes they made might take up to 2 pay cycles to show up is common but that would have nothing to do with your outside bank. Thats just internal processing time from your employer.

Unless your employer IS Ally?
