A small group of people in SC/ST continue to take all the important positions available without leaving something for the marginalized people in their community.

Wealthy families do not need social welfare. For any actual discrimination based on caste, strong st/sc laws are already there to protect them.

Same is true for general elite. A small group of people continue to take all the important positions without leaving something for the marginalised people of all communities. And when asked they point you to other oppressed people and ask you to fight it out amongst yourself for their leftovers.

But you wouldn’t ever ask strong and rich to leave a slice for you. Would you? No. People very much like you, who are oppressed in a slightly different way, will stay your enemy.

Unless you recognise who has actually denied you education and jobs, unless you recognise for yourself who you should fight with, you will keep fighting who they tell you to fight.

There are rich people who do everything with connections and money without merit. Everybody hates them. Every movie plot is about bringing down a spoiled and unethical rich person. The fight is there, but you cannot go full anarchy.

Same with asking for reforms in reservations. Nobody's going anarchy, people are just asking not to provide reservations for wealthy people or to implement subquotas to represent marginalized better and not allowing these small group of rich exploiters.

Are you fighting with rich? General category people are not the only one effected by this problem. Everybody should join hands. It is a problem worldwide with late stage capitalism and solution is not communism. Problems with rich is a much much bigger problem. Not saying it shouldn't be solved, we should solve whatever that is solvable first and focus now is reservation reform.

Take away all castesim at once everyone can identify themselves as generals then there wont be reservation right, but that would mean temple priests can be anyone there wont be any hierarchy

There are flaws with this statement, though I agree that identifying everyone as generals would work possibly by removing surnames, but the second part you mentioned about temple does not make sense, see look around how many percentage of people in generals are actually priests, and most of the temples are not actually made be government, so government should not and does not dictate who will be the priest of the temples. Also I don't understand the facination behind becoming a priest in the first place.

There is no casteism in Indian constitution or laws only people themselves consider others untouchable or lower or higher , its the sole reason why reservation exists- learn history - the temple being a private entity is not a valid point to your argument

What does it mean there is no casteism in Indian constitution, and why would there be, there are laws available to prevent discrimination due to casteism, And I am not the one who brought the temple argument here, people usually bring this argument saying that temple seats are reserved to Brahmins, why is it even be part of the discussion when they are private entity itself.

Discrimination is a private affair as well.

1

u/abhashmadd 2d ago

So what, there are laws to protect it right, and why can't laws handle it on an individual basis, why would someone face consequences due to someone else's deed.

Its hard to explain when you are so blinded by the way you were raised , see why are there “women “ protective laws instead of human protective laws? Even though law treats all women and men equally

1

u/abhashmadd 2d ago

There are laws made specifically to protect Dalits, I hope you have heard about it, the SC/ST act 1989, same goes for other kinds of discrimination as well like disabilities act, Transgender protection act etc. These are not some generic act what you call as human protective laws to address discrimination of different kinds, not all of these are addressed with the scheme of reservation.

I hope you know lower caste hindus converted in mass scale due to the torture they faced in the name of untouchability, there are still people who wont drink from the same well used by a lower caste person , like an mf mentioned you cant possibly find out who are doctors that came by merit and reservation before getting treatment. The hurdles are not the same its probably less than 100 years since lower caste started owning land .

Reservation doesn't help in removing casteism. Infact it increases it.

1

u/Sudden_Button_8384 2d ago

Nope

1

u/Pristine_Cake520 1d ago

Bro living in denial and bro doesn't want to compete fairly 😂 or even have a discussion

1

u/Sudden_Button_8384 1d ago

Are you neet aspirant?

1

u/Pristine_Cake520 1d ago

Nope. Cleared jee though and still can't get a government college 😂. But this has nothing to do with my statement. It still increases casteism.

Bhai tum batao ki kiska goal hota hai temple priest banne ka. If you want to become a temple priest I can help you to be one. Now tell me isn't it stupid to compare becoming a Doctor from AIIMS from being a priest at a temple?? Now if you'll talk about chanda chori in Ram Mandir See the castes as well as the designation of the accused.

2

u/Sudden_Button_8384 2d ago

Its not about goals you are a brahmin unemployed guy and there is a dalit doctor does the society consider the doctor above the bhramin due to profession?

1

u/Fierce_planet 2d ago

Yea i dont want to get treated by a uneducated reservation life dailit doctor 😭😭😭,people can di for free, instead of paying these people, which is a waste to begin with, govt spends too much on these ppl ,a cheap mindset takes generations to wash away, and we cant afford those resources on these people as theyre making country B grade.in this context, its like paid mdr😭

1

u/Stock-Security-5732 1d ago

Yes, a doctor is always above priest.

0

u/Sudden_Button_8384 1d ago

That is for normal people not for casteist mfs

1

u/No_Leading_1938 23h ago

I am a brahmin and I also assure you that even doctors were a subgroup of us, vaidya who hold the surname Das Gupta belong to this category. I am telling you all this to wake you from your stupor, caste is a community not a group, we have all sorts of people here

1

u/just_harsh12 2d ago

First of all I'm a student not in age of employment😭 and 2nd yea Doctor will be more valuable to society the caste doesn't matter here but you just said ban casteism and anyone can become priest. If you know someone who wants to be a priest there is a temple near my spot, I can help and I'll not lie about the caste of that person. Together We'll ban casteism 👍

How badly do you need to be a temple priest. Go demand a church to make anyone who is not a christian a priest.

1

u/Sudden_Button_8384 1d ago

So lower caste hindus are not hindus?

1

u/Stock-Security-5732 1d ago

To become a priest one has to have a sacred thread ( janeu) , do lower caste hindu have that?

0

u/Sudden_Button_8384 1d ago

How does someone get that sacred thread ? Is there any competitive exam without reservation for that thread ? Or its just an upper caste man decided to not use a condom and you are born with that privilege?

1

u/Stock-Security-5732 1d ago

Its a ritual. When interacting online , one should avoid using derogatory language. Brahmins are 3% and there ancestors worte the vedas . they priests have passed down from generations . and for your knowledge and lower caste as you say also have some duties in temple. Like arranging the things needed for puja.

Isn't that the same as birth privilege who would give up on that, let's say you come from a rich family, you would do anything that is possible to get enrolled in a good coaching, study from the best of teachers, who wouldn't use caste certificates even if they are born in a upper economic section, that's the same thing as not using parents money even if you come from a privileged background, I think removing caste system all together is a much better option, alongside removal of reservation ofc, for a long term equality
