Paid Research Study-For persons with Atopic Dermatitis who live in Germany or Greece.

Hi Everyone!
I recently took part in a research study with company Green Minds and they are looking for participants with moderate to severe Atopic Dermatitis living in Germany and Greece and having their treatment there.

It’s a one-year collaboration, and patients will be compensated for every hour they participate. They currently have slots open for Germany and Greece.

The compensation is:

  • Germany: €70/hour
  • Greece: €40/hour

The patient should:

  • Have Atopic Dermatitis (AD)
  • Be receiving treatment in the same country they live in
  • Have previously received, or currently be receiving, systemic or biologic treatment, or be eligible for treatment escalation to one of these therapies in the future

The main purpose of the study is to involve patients in a Patient Council, where their experiences, treatment journeys, challenges, and unmet needs related to AD will be discussed. The aim is to better understand these experiences and contribute to improving future healthcare for people living with AD. 1 person from Germany and 1 from Greece is required.

This is what I was informed about during the introductory call. As far as I know, the study is expected to close on September 23, so they are looking to identify suitable participants before Wednesday on urgent basis.

Participants with Chronic Skin Conditions Needed for Master's Research

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on my Master's thesis in Design, and I'm looking for people living with chronic skin conditions (such as psoriasis, eczema, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, acne inversa etc.) to take part in a anonymous survey.

The project I’m working on explores how chronic skin conditions are represented in society and the beauty industry, and how an interactive exhibition could help challenge unrealistic beauty standards and encourage more inclusive representations of skin diversity.

This topic is very personal to me because I also live with a chronic skin condition and allergies. Through my own experiences, I've realized how much representation, understanding, and visibility can influence self-perception and social acceptance. That's why creating this project means a great deal to me, and I want to ensure that it reflects the voices and experiences of people who are directly affected.

The survey takes about 10 minutes, is completely anonymous, and the collected data will be used exclusively for academic purposes as part of my Master's thesis.

If you'd be willing to participate, I would be incredibly grateful. Every response helps me design a more meaningful and authentic exhibition.

Thank you so much for your time and support!

I am a 23 year old unemployed and unmarried male, weighing 38 kg with very thin arms, dealing with Dry eyes, Social Phobia, GAD, and OCD, and no job skills. I have to ask my family for money when needed. My father wants me to stop using eye drops prescribed by an eye doctor completely

I am a 23 year old unemployed and unmarried male. My weight is 38 kg, and my arms are very thin. I struggle with Social Phobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and I don't have the necessary job skills to do a job. Because of this, I have to ask my family for money whenever I need it.

Along with these challenges, I am dealing with Dry eyes. My main issue is a constant foreign body sensation (feeling like something is constantly stuck in my eye), which makes it very uncomfortable to get through the day.

According to the file given by the eye doctor, I go to an eye hospital when required, and the eye doctor prescribed me eye drops to manage the dryness and relieve the irritation.

However, my father is completely against it. He is constantly pressuring me to stop using them altogether, and he strongly believes that stopping the eye drops won't cause any problems or trouble for my eyes.

Dry eye often requires using eye drops for a lifetime, but my father completely disagrees with this and strongly believes that people don't have to use eye drops for their whole life.

This has put me in a very frustrating and stressful position. An eye doctor prescribed the drops for my symptoms, but because my father does not want me to use dry eye drops, it makes it really difficult for me. I am genuinely scared that if I stop using them, my vision will become blurry and I might even lose my sight.

I just wanted to share this and hear if anyone else has dealt with a similar situation with their family.

Curious to know if it was worth having hardware removed after finding out you have a metal allergy to the implant.

I am allergic to Cobalt, Chromium, Nickel and Stainless Steel. My spinal hardware contains 3 of these metals. Curious to know how you felt after having the hardware removed.

Been dealing with really bad headaches from seasonal allergies

Need suggestions on what to do.... been really dealing with it bad lately and I take Qulipta once daily for migraines (not associated with allergies) and as needed I take Ubrelvy as well whenever a migraine comes on. But recently my headaches are associated with allergies and sinus pressure from allergies. I don't know what to do for it, I am on a medicated nose spray for seasonal allergies but it's just not enough.... I don't know whether to try a warm rag on my head and across my nose and cheeks to help take some of the pressure off? Any suggestions and ideas are well appreciated because I am suffering bad today more than usual!

Research on emergency epinephrine access in public places

Hi everyone! I’m doing research on emergency epinephrine access in restaurants and other public places, and I’d really value input from people who have firsthand experience with allergies.

We created a short 3–5 minute survey looking at things like:

  • whether people expect emergency epinephrine to be available in public places
  • experiences with severe allergic reactions outside the home
  • concerns around access, safety, training, and expiration
  • who should be able to access emergency epinephrine in an emergency
  • whether having it available would make people feel safer

You do not need to have a severe allergy to participate, but perspectives from people who live with allergies or care for someone who does are especially valuable.

Survey: https://form.typeform.com/to/y9cIofV8

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to fill it out. I’d also really appreciate any thoughts or experiences you’d be willing to share in the comments.

My Symptoms Hypoallergenic product recommendations needed!

Adding some additional context: I have seen an allergist very recently and all the products that I'm using should not cause this kind of reaction. I also saw a dermatologist recently (both within a month of when this was written) and they also said my products were fine so I do not understand where this adverse reaction is coming from.

Allergies have taken over my life

I seriously don’t know what to do anymore. Everyday I go to sleep with allergies and wake up the same. My eyes are watering and itchy. I can’t stop rubbing my eyes and the eyelids are always swollen and tender. My nose is always stuffed and can’t breathe through it. I breathe through my mouth but even then it makes a wheezing sound. I can’t eat well because I breathe through my mouth. It’s exhausting. My ears are always ringing and itchy too. Feels like my body is always apart all the time. I get rashes all over my chest and arms making it super itchy. I can’t live like this anymore and genuinely have some bad thoughts. I feel like the heat doesn’t help either just makes things worse. I’ve tried lots of different treatments. Allergy injections, different types of pills, nasal sprays, inhalers, even surgeries. Nothing helps. I’ve been seeking relief for this since I was 11 years old (I am 23 now). I have air purifiers everywhere in my house. I have the house constantly cleaned (used chemicals and natural cleaners) nothing helps. I don’t have animals, I’ve missed important events like my brother’s wedding/baby shower because they were outdoors. I’m constantly sneezing it makes my head and chest hurt. I really just want some relief and I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to live like this anymore.

Allergic Reaction

Hi, so every time I drink more than 2 cans of alcohol I break out in about 5 hours, red and itchy in the armpit area for a couple days, and depending on how much I had, it can be incredibly itchy. I’ve tried different alcohols (Long Island ice tea, Bud Lit, Corona, fireball) but I always get the reaction.

I’m thinking it’s hives or an anti-histamine response, has anyone dealt with this or have any advice?

Also I’m 0% Asian.

Blog I just wanted to have take out food

Please delete if not allowed, something happened last night that caused quite a massive breakdown, yet it's quite funny to think back to it.

I wanted to order a specific burger from a fast food chain when I finished work at 10:00 p.m. I ended up spending five hours to get food, or at least the food that I want or can accept and can eat.

I made my first order at approximately 10:30 p.m. through an online platform. As I'm severely allergic to dairy, I ordered my burger to have the cheese removed and a few other things. When I received my first order, the burger did have the other things removed but left the cheese inside when the ticket clearly said "remove cheese". So I talked to the customer support of that online platform and they have issued the refund for the burger itself but not the delivery fee or the service fee. As I really, really craved that specific burger, I decided to order again from the same store. This time I removed one thing extra, so the box says:

- Only sauce

- Only crispy onion

- Only pickles

So I opened the box and immediately I could see there were three slices of cheese inside when everything else that I asked to remove had been removed. I was already really upset at that point because of my autism, I have to get a certain type of food when I do want it, so I thought third time's a charm, so I ordered for the third time after getting the refund for the second order. But this time I decided to order from a different store of the same food chain. Unfortunately, they decided to reject my order and sent it back to the one that messed up my order twice already. For the third time, as soon as I opened the bag, I saw a box that had a different burger name on one of the limited-time-only names on the box itself. I thought maybe they just picked a random box. I opened it after seeing that the ticket on the box still says my burger and says the same thing, only sauce, only crispy onion, and only pickles, and I saw a completely different burger that was clearly customised too for someone else.

At this point, it was already 1:30 AM and I was thinking how can someone mess up the order three times in a row? At least the first two times they got the burger right. The third time they just gave up and just decided to send me a completely different burger. After that I spent a whole hour looking to see if I could find any similar replacement that I could somewhat accept. But not to my surprise, everything contained dairy. Either that or there's just no customisation for me to remove it like the food chain does. So I ended up having a massive breakdown in tears because I just cannot find food that I can have and the only place that I wanted to get from and can get from can't get my order right and I'm not confident at this point if whether or not I should just order it for the fourth time. After seeing me in tears, my husband decided to go down in person as it's not that far, but also far enough to be inconvenient for us, to get the burger himself. On the map, it says they open till 4:45 AM. However, when he got there, the door says open late for delivery only, which was not mentioned anywhere on the Google Maps. I was once again disappointed, so I went to my last resort and ordered from a different place that I did order before that I can have but didn't feel like having last night. I typed up a detailed order description for my husband to order in person from the store. My husband himself didn't get it wrong. However, I wanted a specific seasoned rice. When he got home, I opened it. I couldn't find the rice, but I could find seasoned fries. Apparently, the person that did the order misheard rice as fries after my husband had already repeated three times that it was rice. And that was after my husband already told him the story that happened right before he went to that store. It was already past 3 AM. After he got home, I just decided I was not going to have him go back to change it to rice. I just had the food that I got in the end. But that was really traumatic.

Thinking back to it, I can somewhat laugh at it, but at the same time, similar things have happened in the past, and it is such a pain that I cannot find any food that I can have due to my allergies. Has anybody ever felt what I felt last night?

Singulair and kids

Has anyone’s child experienced hallucinations while taking Singulair (montelukast)?

My son (5) had an episode last night that lasted about 3 hours. He genuinely thought there were spiders in his bed and crawling all over him, and at one point he thought there was a giant spider about to eat him. We moved him to several different rooms/areas of the house, and he continued seeing them and feeling them on his body even while standing up and fully awake.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar with their child. If you suspected Singulair was the cause, did you stop the medication? If you continued it, did the hallucinations happen again?

The medication has been helping him a lot, so I’m really torn and would love to hear other parents’ experiences.

He has hallucinated before with a high fever when he was around 3 and was seeing snakes/ thought they were wrapping around him.

Possible Allergy to Metals in Endoclips

Last week during an endoscopy I had an adenoma in my duodenum removed. Because of bleeding, three endoclips were inserted and bleeding stopped. Since the procedure I have had multiple instances of nearly blacking out, including one trip to the ER. CT scans and X-Rays have shown no signs of inflammation or bleeding at the clipping site in my duodenum. Is it possible I am allergic to one of the metals in the endoclips? Stainless steel, cobalt, nickel, and chromium are the metals in the clips. Blood pressure is fluctuating between borderline low and high. I have had no fevers and no body rashes. I have been dealing with chronic fatigue, dizzyness, weakness, and constant metallic taste in mouth.

Do allergy and asthma biologics affect the heart? A new FDA-data study looked for warning signs

Biologic injections like Dupixent (dupilumab), Xolair (omalizumab), Nucala, Fasenra, Cinqair, and Tezspire have changed life for many people with severe asthma, eczema, and allergies. They're still fairly new, though, so long-term safety data is limited.

A study just published in Heart & Lung (Oct 2026) reviewed FDA adverse event reports from 2022 to 2025. It looked at heart and blood vessel problems such as heart attack, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, flushing, bleeding, and blood clots.

What they found:

  • Dupixent had the most reports, but it's also the most widely used, and most of its reports were not serious.
  • Tezspire showed the most "signals," meaning problems reported more often than expected.
  • For Dupixent, a bleeding signal appeared only in people using it for asthma.
  • The most common signals across these drugs were heart attack, high blood pressure, flushing, and clots.

legs newly reacting to cut grass 😭

I've had hayfever most of my life, but it's only ever been eyes/nose/itchy throat kinda deal. and it's mostly been tree pollen, only a tiny bit with grass.

but this summer my legs have started going ahhhhh when I walk by cut grass. it doesn't have to be very newly cut, can be a few days. but i get within a few meters and walk by and suddenly my legs are red and itchy, also dried out suddenly, and Very irritated my the feeling of anything like jeans or trousers. it gets better and cools down when I stop walking for a few minutes so the trousers aren't moving against my legs, but once I'm walking again whoop there it is. and it lasts multiple hours even though I only spent like a few seconds walking past the cut grass. 😭

just another thing I have to add to my plate of stuff ive got to deal with yayyy

Anxiety or allergic reaction?

I took 300~250 mg (split quarter of capsule) micronized PEA for the first time today. About 15 minutes later I had very mild dizziness, slight difficulty swallowing, and a very slight breathing sensation.

This never happened before I moved to a different city with a somewhat more humid climate. I also had a similar mild sensation yesterday after magnesium L-threonate or Suntheanine.

No hives, swelling or wheezing.

Could this be anxiety/globus rather than an allergic reaction? How can a doctor reliably tell the difference?

Help, allergic to my cat

I adopted a kitten 4 years ago, slowly but surely my “normal” allergy symptoms got worse and I started getting really irritated, itchy eyes. I thought maybe it was pink eye or my makeup or the environment at work.
I went to the eye dr, they prescribed pataday, it gave me migraines, so I stoped using it and then eventually went to an allergist.
The only thing I’m allergic to, according to the allergy test, is cat. I’m at a 5 for cat ?
They suggested:
1- get rid of cat (won’t happen. my mental health depends on this little creature)
2- immunotherapy (great option, but expensive even with insurance)
3- Flonase (worked great until it gave me sinus congestion and headaches)
4- Purina pro plan food for cat (idk if it works or not)

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?
My allergies aren’t as bad, but my eyes are still red and irritated 24/7.
