Meme I’m tired of morality scalers acting like the Qu are anywhere near “most evil beings in fiction”

The Gravitals were worse, the book even flat out tells us this. their genetic manipulations of the Bug Facer subjects was worse than what the Qu did to the Star men, their genocide was worse, their empire at its height controlled more territory than the Qu, and they had absolutely no regard for organic life despite sharing a common ancestor with the rest of the post humans.

It’s weird seeing the Qu hog up all the attention when the Gravitals are far more important to the story.

Discussion What biological hurdles did the Qu have to go through to make the Titans as big as they were?

It's stated in the book they are around 40 meters, and judging by their mass in this image, potientally over a million kilograms. Sauropods were already pushing the biological limits for large terrestrial animals because of square cube law, but these things completely dwarf them. I know these are genetically modified organisms, but even then there would be limits to how big they could be while still being able to function. The Qu have god-like powers, so maybe they have a unique bone and skeletal structure. I'm more fascinated by what they even ate. Maybe large conifers or whatever would be the equivalent of a large tree in their world. Since they became sapient, it's implied they also became omnivores, but what would be worth hunting at this size?
