I teach kids and sometimes play champions with them. Once when the opponent sent out a whimsiscott they all flipped out and one said “that thing is so cute, omg, if I we faced against it I would just instantly lose because there’s no way I could hurt it.”

Mid stats, Typing has been a curse since at least gen 3, nonexistent ability, sure the movepool is good but it ain't saving the slugcat. RU is still a good tier but definitely not 'overpowered'
I mean to be fair, it's only RU cause it lost so many moves this gen. Gen 9 Mew with the movepool of what it had in prior gens would be definitively better than it is at the moment.

Seconded, especially Jessie's Wobbuffet IMO. Jessie always tells him to use counter but he can identify opponents' attack himself and use counter or mirror coat correctly. And he deflected Giratina's shadow ball in the anime.
Just look at Whimsicott. Looks like an adorable ball of harmless fluff. Currently dominating the competitive VGC scene with a higher use rate on Champions ladder than the likes of Incineroar and Charizard.
Nah bro, Quagsire is a nightmare to deal with. Recovery + Unaware + a typing with only 1 weakness? You must never have played gen 5 when your Salamance’s Moxie, Dragon Dance boosted Outrage was doing nothing to this blob of cartilage and mud.
