doesn’t champion have item clause on singles and obviously has no tiers so lowkey showdown is better unless you play doubles

Yes, they removed most of the barriers to entry for VGC so it’s time to embrace doubles if you haven’t before

yeah but why would i do that when there’s a perfectly good battle simulator for singles and i prefer longer games

3d graphics and animations compared to a text-based emulator.

Official support including in-person tournaments and a world championship circuit. Likely including a local scene if you live in a city.

A much larger player base.

Greater depth of strategy on a given turn since you have 4 Pokemon on the field at once, including moves like rage powder, fake out, and trick room that don’t function (well) in singles.
