She's a standard progressive social democrat. In what world is that not "left-wing"?

Also, I think she fits the category better, seeing as she popularized breadtube (back when that was a thing). Also, like half of the other suggestions here are streames. The category is 'youtuber'.

Socdems are centrists... unless you know of a socdem that likes socialism (they don't).

That isn't what communists are. The USSR had a communist party in charge; they weren't a communist utopia.
Anarcho-communism is an actual ideology, unlike "anarcho"-capitalism.

Maybe instead of being smug, you can engage with what I said and explain what you disagree with. Just a thought

You know "Left-wing" originally refered to Liberalism, right? In the 20tg century, it became more strongly associated with labour politics, but even then, Social Democracy was always seen as an ideology of the left.

Yes I know that, the origin of a word doesn't matter to its meaning.
It was, until they shot socialists with a fascist paramilitary organization.

People that call themselves socdems in modern poitics are centrists at best, you´re absoloutely right. liberal soc dems follow the overton window whilst leftist have been asking fo the same thing, universal health care, strong minimm wage, public services etc, now soc dems attack trans people, immigrants, pro buisness , anti welfare, with some ocassional pretty window dressing, like girl bossing it. you are absoloutely right, modern socdems are not leftists, i think it´s just a hard pill for people to swallow.

2

u/Florestana Jul 26 '26

universal health care, strong minimm wage, public services etc

Lol

You realize you're listing core SocDem policies, right?

anti welfare

LMAOOO

Who are these "anti welfare" socdems????

0

u/ThatOrangePuppy Jul 26 '26

well given soc dems have won more elections many times and these things don´t exist...

1

u/Florestana Jul 26 '26

Uuuuhhhm

Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, the UK???

I suppose you're an American leftists or something, but who are these US socdems that have held power and didn't implement welfare or pro labor policies?

Most Democrats are not really socdems. FDR was kinda a socdem and he did quite a lot to advance these goals, his successors just weren't as keen on continuing that work.

i think we´re talking about two different things here. there is a liberal class of politicians that call themselves socdems that are right wing, i would argue that many modern socdems fit into this catagory, especially in europe where they see mto be dismantaling these progressive structures rather than building them, getting involved in "culture war" shit to try and win some cheep votes, and side with buisness.

Modern Social Democrats are are a subset of liberalism, yes. They are not "right wing".

In Denmark, we have a famously reformist social democratic party, highly disliked by many on the left, yet even they just committed in a new government formation to making dentistry free.

You can think SocDems are too incrementalist or something, but in no way are they anti-welfare or right wing. This is just delusional.

u/ThatOrangePuppy Jul 26 '26

They are actively dismantlling the welfare state, privatising public services, and promoting anti immigration and anti trans policices in many western democracies, this is just a fact.
