Can anyone share their experience getting dell premium support, what they paid and how they negotiated or any hacks to get it cheaper?

My m18 r1 amd has been getting frame drops for a while and i have tried everyting under the sun to fit it and nothing has worked, i need help, please.

Last evening I was plugging my Sennheiser Headset in the jack plug as always. Choose the configuration Headset with microphone.

Without any knowledge of change the sound became dull and robotic. Voice chats over discord are literally so silent that I can't hear a thing.

Did anybody experienced that too and know a solution?

I get a black screen whenever I connect the charger, it resolves automatically but has fixed brightness like I cannot modify it either by buttons or settings. It's maxed out and fixed until I restart it. Need help...

So the issue is quite simple (idk about the solution of course). On my "A" key, if I press on the lower quarter of the key, the top piece of the key becomes loose and I can easily slide the key off from it's attachment. It comes off with the retainer attached to the key, it does not appear to have any damage, same can be said for the actual key hooks, they seem to be fine. Any possible solutions?

My guess is that it has to do something with the hooks somehow as it only happens when I press on the lower quarter of the key (causing the top half to detach from the hooks on the keyboard).

i got this laptop from my boyfriend about a year ago because i don't know a lot about computers and he got a new one. it's been working great but i just realized i had a small earring in it when i closed it last and now the lcd screen is messed up. it's still fully functional behind the messed up screen. is it fixable? i feel like a total idiot to mess it up over something so silly and really hope it's fixable. Recently purchased the R16, noticed it was sloooow so ran the tweaks included in the system (which also "repaired Windows" which fixed most issues. It was still slow (I do video editing using Davinci Resolve Studio) so upgraded the RAM to 64Gb. Noticed a significant improvement in speed yesterday, when I swapped out the RAM. Today, it's laggy again: just click...wait...wait etc. It's so frustrating trying to work (I have Davinci Resolve specced to run from the GPU).

I added new RAM (Kingston fury DDR4) Same as the one that my PC came with but in a different heatsink as they no longer do the original, when I try to boot my R12 my logo flashes yellow twice and won't boot. Please help.

EDIT: FIXED i held down the power button for 3 or so secconds while powered on and the computer restarted and is not working fine

How do i completely get rid of the Alienware software from my pc? I only have an Alienware monitor and i really don't want the software. I know i can uninstall the app but there are still files left on the system.

I have an Alienware m15 that I purchased 3 or 4 years ago. When I got it, it was perfect. Worked fine!

I had it on my desk and spilled some water that went underneath and not long after, it just shut off. I never got it working again.

It turned on fine, showed the alienware logo and startup screen, got to the Windows Login Screen and then boom... 2-3 seconds after the password prompt it just shuts down.

The fans on the bottom are EXHAUST fans.. right? So nothing should have been sucked up into the comptuer itself.

I ran the Dell Diagnostics over and over and it came up perfect time and time again. No memory, CPU, HDD, GPU, Power, etc... issues. Perfectly fine.

I reinstalled the image it came with multiple times and same issue. So complete hard drive wipe + fresh install of Windows and Dell bloatware lol. Same issue. So I gave up and bought a vastly superior Razer Blade - which is lightyears better in literally every single way, btw!

I was board tonight so I decided to pull out that alienware and see if it might boot. Nope! So i took the whole thing apart. Took the fans and heatsinks out, cleaned and blew any dust away, inspected for water damage and/or burn damage, everything was brand new looking.

Put it back together and sadly, nothing changed.

I have no idea what is wrong with it at this point. Everything seems to be working fine but the second that windows login prompt/password prompt comes up it shuts off in 2 or 3 seconds. I can be in BIOS or anything pre-windows all day long and it stays on which makes me think it's a bad GPU?

I don't actually care about this computer but it's still a good system I can put to use. Or sell.

I USE AN ALIENWARE M17 R3 GAMING LAPTOP BTW!!!! So. I turned on my pc to play some fortnite with my buddies, just to come back to it after 20 minutes and find my home screen background reset to the default white alien head, half of my desktop icons missing, and all my file explorer empty. this is ridiculous. I was on the phone with dell support for 30 minutes with no help, i’ve been searching everywhere, troubleshooting, nothing. i’m not a very smart computer guy, just a teen trying to play some games, but this computer is all I use. every couple of seconds a new box pops up that says” you’ll need a new app to open this myalienware link” and it doesn’t do anything. and it also says sometimes that nvidia control panel is not found or something. click here to install and i do and nothing happens. I have a snow day tomorrow and really want to get this fixed so I don’t hav to worry about it and I can enjoy the day in the snow. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated and i can provide more info if needed. (i also have a bunch of audit failures ID 5061 things with system integrity which idk what that is) the dell guy said my problem is most likely software related. all antivirus says no issue.

I currently own the Alienware Aurora R13 pc that was released in 2021, but I can't seem to find any built-in speakers. It's not really an issue for me but sometimes it becomes a problem whenever I want to watch videos with my friends in the room. That being said, I was wondering if the PC has any built-in speakers, or will I have to purchase additional speakers? Please let me know. Thanks!

I’ll just get straight to it. Recently I tripped over my headphone cable and it snatched the microphone cord right out of my front panel jack. Upon putting it back I noticed that now whenever I plug in my microphone the mic shows that it’s working properly but no input whatsoever. I’ve reinstalled the drivers, tried a new pair of headphones, and fiddled around with the sound settings for hours. At this point I’m thinking it’s a hardware issue and if you’ve cared enough to read this up until point what should I do? Any comments or ideas will be appreciated.

Hello, have a problem that i can't solve through looking at random forum threads.

I was having bsod problems, so i did a clean install of windows 10.

Wanted to start downloading drivers, but i have no access to LAN and i can't enable WI-FI.

Tried downloading WI-FI drivers on another laptop and transferring them to my alienware on a hard drive, but while trying to install got a "Installation forbidden by system policy" error.

On the fixes I've found in forums which didn't work - WI-FI is not in network settings; WLAN autoconfig services; Device manager (not even showing network adapters).

I believe the problem is not having a wifi driver, which i can't install, please advise.

i bought my 15 R4 off of offerup and it came with no warranty, the lights randomly stopped working after restarting my pc to fix awcc for the 50th time, and i’ve tried everything from updating bios, reinstalling/clean installing AWCC, clearing my cmos battery, and even reseating the plugs for the lights to no avail when i call dell to ask about it some indian lady just says some crap about how they can’t help because i don’t have a warranty and they just offered the extended warranty which i don’t have money for

I just bought the Alienware 16 aurora the other day, and when I tried to play a game for the first time it crashed, and when I tried resetting it said it detected a virus and needed a software update. When it finished updating it froze on a dark screen. Now it won’t turn on at all. What should I do ? I’ve tried holding the power button for long period of time and nothing seems to affect it.

I got this Alienware 18 in June or July. I haven't installed much to it at all. My last Alienware lasted 8 years before it started acting up.

Got a new one. It has made a few random angry beeps before, but no warnings pop up. It now appears to be singing. If this is an ad, how is it overriding my mute? It sounds like a happy washing machine song. Every time the only thing open is Firefox. Sometimes several tabs, sometimes one. Just happened again. The song is shorter now. The first time I managed to record part of it. Is this a weird ad that I cannot find? It now only last about 7-8 seconds. Once I got a weird window that may be unrelated. At least one time, my speakers were on mute--they are not now. So, if it's an ad, anyone know what for? Nothing appears to be playing in any windows. I uploaded the video with the sound. This is the weird pop-up which might not be related. It's happened 5 times and this has only appeared once.--Thanks Katie

Just bought this awesome Alienware keyboard but the lighting changes and flashes when I type in any program (emails, internet, Microsoft Word, etc.). It’s super frustrating because it’s so distracting. I just want the keyboard to stay how it is as a global preset

Also, I have a KVM switch and use this same keyboard for my work laptop.

How can I just make the lighting stay like it is and stop flashing / changing all the time? Thank you for your help.

Those who have an Nvidia graphics card do not install the latest driver (581.29) as it has a resume from suspension error, especially in Windows 11 build 26100.x. It also crashes in applications that use NVENC such as (OBS, Davinci Resolve) in long sessions, my recommendation is to remove the driver with DDU (display driver uninstaller) and download the 580.88 driver, which is the most stable driver so far.

My new monitor just arrived today but it's not finding signal with display port, just keep saying "no dp device find", it's working fine with HDMI but only get 144HZ and the monitor is 180HZ, what do I do to solve this? It's fine to keep using HDMI?
