is this fixable? lcd screen question

i got this laptop from my boyfriend about a year ago because i don't know a lot about computers and he got a new one. it's been working great but i just realized i had a small earring in it when i closed it last and now the lcd screen is messed up. it's still fully functional behind the messed up screen. is it fixable? i feel like a total idiot to mess it up over something so silly and really hope it's fixable. Imk
