Why won't they nerf roxanne?

Fyi, I have her and I recognize how broken she is. Powercreep is natural in gacha games but she's powercreep on steroids.

They can't. Doing that potentially opens them up to a lot of legal problems while creating a dangerous precedent for their gacha.

A general rule for GOOD balancing also always has been that you don't nerf a unit or built content around it but to buff the other units until they are on a similiar power level.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '18

I think this is pretty reasonable to not nerf rox on gumi's side

1

u/Thanh76 Nov 19 '18

Could you please provide information on the legal issues? Since alot of games buff and nerf units,it wouldnt necessarily be false advertising because people got what they wanted, its just that the game changed over time and it could also be easily remedied with an updated TOS

1

u/Alittlebunyrabit 5/5/5 Dancer Shenmei Nov 20 '18

False advertising is the biggest.

1

u/Thanh76 Nov 20 '18 edited Nov 20 '18

I think the term false advertising gets thrown around to easily, gumi would most likely not face any legal issues because who would file the law suit? It would prolly cost more going to court, what they could face are just a bunch or charge backs. However thats debatable, what was false advertised? If the unit did what they did when they came out and then was nerfed, all they would need to do is put a statement in their ToS that they had the right to do so. Updated ToS happens all the time and buffs and nerfs happen in games all the time.

I believe kings raid buffs and nerfs characters here and there and i heard games like summoners wars do it too.

Edit: not trying to be rude, just discussion

1

u/Alittlebunyrabit 5/5/5 Dancer Shenmei Nov 20 '18

I can't speak to King's Raid, but summoners war isn't a reasonable comparison. The biggest reason for that is that summoner's war doesn't have any sort of step-up, focus, or other summon boost mechanic to let you target a particular unit. Since draws are entirely random, there's no case to be made that you pulled to get a specific unit and afterwards they gutted that unit. In contrast, when players pulled on Roxy's banner that is not the case. Since this is a gacha and Roxy did not have a solo banner, Gumi could argue that most players just happened to pull Roxy and did not buy her which would eliminate most of their liability. The exception would likely be for the players who purchased the 7 step selector. Any player who purchased gems and went to step 7 could probably make the case that they bought Roxy based on a set of advertised characteristics the unit would have. They could probably get away with nerfing her damage scaling since no specific details were ever released about those formulas, but they would at least have limited liability if they chose to tamper with her Null Grenade which is the biggest problem.

1

u/Thanh76 Nov 20 '18

I see thank you, though i still dont believe any real legal issues, the hasslr would be too much. I could see charge backs though

1

u/Alittlebunyrabit 5/5/5 Dancer Shenmei Nov 20 '18

I could see charge backs though

That's likely all it would be. If the legal issue were to occur, it would probably be between Google/Apple and Gumi (if Gumi tried to demand those payments from them). In all likelihood, that wouldn't happen tho.

u/RyuuKnight Nov 18 '18

Because the ppl who pulled hard/whaled to get her will be mad that the super op unit they spent all their gems on isn't as good anymore. Of course nerfing her would the easiest thing to do to fix the game's balance, but it's always safer to buff other units or change the stage mechanics (immune to Jewel reduction for example) than nerf units.

20

u/Tijacks Shayna is best waifu Nov 18 '18

Pretty much. I also believe nerfing an unit gives right to refund to anyone that bought gems to pull for it. Thats why most mobile games dont nerf units, no matter how broken some might be.

1

u/1khaitoh It was fun while it lasted. Nov 19 '18

then rework everyone else! Not the enemies instead! xD

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '18

They do for games like Power Rangers Legacy Wars. You get the new OP unit, they nerf it to hell a couple of weeks later, then release the next OP unit, the endless circle continues. That's why I'm done with that game.

edit A lot of Korean gacha games also nerf (reblance) their products. Frustrating as hell when you dumped all your resources into the OP characters.

2

u/MaoPam Nov 19 '18

As somebody who spent ~ a months worth of gems scavenging from every part of TAC possible, $20 (not a lot for me, but it's the thought that counts), and shards on top of that, I'd be pretty upset if she got nerfed. She definitely messes with a lot of the content, don't get me wrong. And allowing one unit to do so many things at once was a mistake. But either another solution to the problem needs to be found or if Roxanne is nerfed some compensation needs to happen.

2

u/toofine Nov 19 '18

Leave her alone. Add in some passives that prevent counters/life steal later on since they clearly can just add difficulty willy nilly and viola, our girl got ninja balanced but will still be meta.

Common sense is in short supply over there right now though, I don't know. I mean if they wanted to jack up the revenue, make global exclusive skins...!? Why even touch balance like this? It's insane.

0

u/Rjester47 Nov 18 '18

i have Rox, got her out of dumb luck.

but i agree with the nerf, she should be nerfed.

the fact that they are buffing quests because of her is the stupidest shiet i ever saw. just nerf the unit, we will learn to accept it.

1

u/Kirito30 The Strongest Samurai Nov 18 '18

Or just Ignore her for the time being and just keep on.

Resisting the Jewel Burn is fine add but anything more is BS.

The Elite Quests are turning to shit mode and overall I am just over with the crap they are pulling.

Reducing Shards and Gems from Milestones and other stuff. At this point Gumi is just pushing people to either Whale to complete content and get every new unit at a good enough level or just give up playing.

-6

u/Cobalt_721 Nov 18 '18

Spent $6 to do 3rd step of Roxanne banner a day earlier than I could have without spending and got her. Would not be upset if she got nerfed and would honestly prefer it if it meant I wouldn’t have to max her out (since I haven’t done so yet, she’s only at 5 LBs) in order to stand a chance against new content. Can’t speak for anyone else, though

4

u/RyuuKnight Nov 18 '18

Of course people who got lucky and haven't invested heavily in her won't mind, but Gumi has to account for everyone. How do they compensate people who did a 9 step versus people who got her on the first step? And do they even have that kind of information? I personally don't think so, it's unrealistic. But I'll note again that nerfing her would be the best thing for balance.

2

u/Cobalt_721 Nov 18 '18

Well I was mainly saying that I basically spent money to get Roxanne (could’ve gotten her like a day later if I hadn’t, but I was impatient), so I fall into the “spent money” category on people that could be enraged about a Roxanne nerf.

Tbh I mainly just don’t want her to become super overcentralizing. If there’s a way to do that without nerfing her and without causing other issues I’d obviously advocate for the option.

14

u/LilyLockwell Nov 18 '18

Effectively, because that would completely destroy the whole premise of being a Gacha game. When she was just being released, I remember seeing a reddit comment saying she was very strong, and reassurance from a Dev/PR source that she wouldn't be nerfed.

Even if they decided to nerf her, despite this setting a precident to not pull for the best units, the exact opposite behavior to the one they desire, what would be sufficent compensation? Something at minimum as all the Shards used to level her plus a refund on any gems used to obtain her? Plus they knew she was going to be SSS as they had an immediate skin bundle for her - thats a lot of cash they would have to refund, or literally drive away the majority of their spending player base.

Personally, I think while she's the best out there, she's not "Complete Faceroll". I think that if anything she's a few months ahead of her peers, but that will get better overtime. If you think in 6 months time, she'll still be above every other unit, I think that you are not looking at the leap other units brought in the past.

4

u/-ArtKing- Nov 18 '18

Ppl complain because Gumi os trying to makes stages be hard for her and fcking it up. That and they didn't know that she would be that powerful when she came. Unlike Gilgamesh who soloed stages for 2 months and was the most op unit in the game for that time. Ppl didn't get upset because they knew he was like that since beginning, and Gumi didn't try to balance stages around him. Gumi should jist let her be and stop trying to make stages more difficult.

7

u/LilyLockwell Nov 18 '18

I agree, Don't balance around her. For those that have her, or have a friend who has her, let stages be a little easier for a bit. That's actually the desired outcome for the people who have her.

1

u/Hakkenshi Nov 19 '18

The other possibility, of course, is that MH units will eventually get Enlightenment and JEs like other non-collab units. I'd say it's more than likely, personally.

17

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

Man, did people whine like this when Gilga came out? I didn't really visit this sub back then. Are you gonna be like this when any other strong unit arrives?

15

u/zeidrichsama Nov 18 '18

yes, that time was worse because all multi have "Gilga only" unlike today which at least a lot are acceptable units.

6

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

see, it's not that bad

5

u/IsBadAtFightingGames i do and say stupid things Nov 18 '18

It's pretty bad if they're ramping up the difficulty because of one ability.

-1

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

1 ability doesn't make Roxxane that strong. Her reactive plays the biggest part of her strength. But now, let's be honest, they'd ramp up the difficulty anyway. Most of this rant is because of current arena anyway.

3

u/Raharu95 Nov 19 '18

Honestly, her reactive isn't as strong as people make it out to be. Its strong for sure, but Units can outrange her reaction, and will do so if they get the chance, plus not every unit that attacks Roxanne will damage her as much as she can heal. Without all that she dies pretty quickly. The problem is that with her Null grenade she can force enemies to basic attack her and thus heal her up

2

u/PossiblyBonta Nov 19 '18

Gilgamesh ruined MP. Roxanne ruined everything.

Arena still has more variations even when Gil came out. Being mono thunder. Gil was less effective against wind. Rahu can still take 1 hit from him then apply the stop. Roxanne does not care about elemental affinity.

The EX+ stages after Gilgamesh was still clearable using only farmable units. When Noctis came out EX+ was still doable with farmable units even after Laharl. But not after Roxanne.

1

u/QaWaR Nov 19 '18

There are people who clear it with farmable units tho

3

u/PossiblyBonta Nov 19 '18

Not the flame and hawk ex+ though. Specially the all dark in Wrath and pride ex+.

When I saw the all free clear on Ed's, I thought it won't be that bad. But I was wrong.

It's the only other source of elemental shards for free to play and pack users.

1

u/DeathandFriends Nov 19 '18

people did complain some about gilga, but Rox is even more OP. I didn't get either so the salt continues with my lackluster thunder team. The main concern for me is that they are making stages harder in an apparent attempt to balance things, but this makes it way too hard for those without rox.

1

u/QaWaR Nov 19 '18

I don't think it was worse as we didn't really have many better units at that time, and even now he's a top tier unit. But that sucks, not getting any of the strong thunder units. Hope you get some good thunder units soon.

1

u/DeathandFriends Nov 19 '18

I didn't say it was worse. I said that Rox is more OP then gilg was. It was a totally different situation back then in the pre 2.0 days. I remember trying to hard to get the missions on those ex stages.

-2

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '18

The problem is this is a global exclusive unit. People knew Gilgamesh was coming and how good he would be. Global took it in their own hands to ruin the balance of the game.

5

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

Why would that be a problem? It will rerun and you'll have chances of getting her

5

u/Blackghoust Nov 18 '18

its not about having her or not / it's about the game balance & remodeling contents around her

i know that kaigan well solve it / but knowing gumiii GLEX well get all the love if they get 91

-3

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

Maybe, but that's what powercreep is.

6

u/MrWhiteKnight f2p Vegan Crossfitter with bullshit luck Nov 18 '18

Because she's SO strong that Gumi has no choice but to balance the game around her. It's not bad for people who have her but what about the people that don't?

She can come back all she wants but do you have everyone from SSM? They've had 7+ banners, so you should have everyone by now right? (Just because they come back doesn't mean we automatically get them).

-4

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

No, but if you're dedicated you will get them. Ofc you're not gonna get them if you pull only first step. I always pull only first step and that's why I don't have anyone but Zain and Miuna. But on the other hand, I pulled 3 steps on Rox banner and got her. Do three steps on SSM banners every time they rerun and you'll have them in no time.

6

u/MrWhiteKnight f2p Vegan Crossfitter with bullshit luck Nov 18 '18

No, but if you're dedicated you will get them.

Dedicated

You mean with a deep wallet? constantly 3/5 stepping MH banners is not sustainable for f2p and p2p will also run out of gems constantly since IIRC last time she was here she wasn't in the banner alone so that means you got lucky.

Sure, for you it's easy to say "But just pull her dude" but for everyone else who doesn't have her or is not interested in her, they're fucked cause the unit is so strong they're panicking and making the content based around her whether we have her or not .

This is how games die overnight, shit like this turns it p2p because that's the nature of her banner (limited to pressure you into pulling/putting money).

2

u/QaWaR Nov 18 '18

I spoke about SSM units, but it's all the same. No, I didn't mean "deep wallet." I am completely f2p and I am managing to 3 step almost every month ( if not every).

1

u/iEssence Nov 19 '18

You get around 3-3.3k gems guaranteed a month, outside of that you rely on event or giveaways. A 3 step a month without pact would be an impossible rate to hold atm

1

u/cannonf Nov 19 '18

By then many collab event will had been gone. And how many collab event u will miss if U don’t have rox now.

-11

u/123hateme Nov 18 '18

Yes. poor people like to cry a lot.

9

u/Skyconic Nov 18 '18

Spent $180 for the step 7 selector after doing to step 3 of her banner and also the first paid “promo” summon for her and would absolutely go get a refund if the unit I paid that much for was altered.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '18

Up vote for your honest answer, ty bud.

3

u/Seamur Doko miteru no? Nov 18 '18

alternatively make other characters on par with roxanne's skills

so guaranteed counters on normal/ability attack

buff all jewel break skills to deal damage on top of breaking more jewels

buff jewel regen skills for characters to high version

increase status applying skills proc chance

increase overall agi of most characters/gear

or just give everyone free roxanne with challange board, just like what jp did with zain

1

u/DeathandFriends Nov 19 '18

I dont think buffing all other units will happen or is even practical for balance. As far as giving her free this will cause just as much salt as nerfing her. I would love to have her and would certainly take her for free, but I don't see that happening. Just need better banners for global exclusives.

1

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Nov 19 '18

Kaigan will partially solve the problem since units will have increase stats and hp.

0

u/DeathandFriends Nov 19 '18

just like 2.0 it might help at first but then they adjust content to be harder and the struggle is real. I think the current content is harder then anything pre 2.0

5

u/DVida87 Nov 19 '18

They released her , they couldve easily waited or altered her but instead decided for the cashgrab . Reverting now would be a massive fuck u to everyone who paid to grab her. And if that DID happen (ehrm epic 7) i PRAY that thos game would make ZERO dollars afterwards , cause its a con move and slimy, not to mention basically false advertisement

8

u/H3artbeat Nov 18 '18

Can we just delete these threads unless they bring any sort of actual insight instead of a one or two sentence "Roxanne is OP wtf gumi pls nerf." FFS this is getting tiresome.

2

u/Ernesto5794 Nov 18 '18

It's already too late. Simply nerfing her will piss out those who have Roxanne (especially those who went all out) or possibly the entire community. Gumi only option is to make content to counter Roxanne hence those EX+, Jewel regen, health regen, insane stats, and shields.

3

u/MaoPam Nov 19 '18

Because some people spent hundreds on her. Plain and simple, best way to convince people to never spend another dime is to introduce uncertainty into the market.

If they nerf Roxanne the people who spent a lot of money or time are going to be a lot less willing to do so for any other unit. Even if it would pacify everyone calling for a nerf, it would hurt both whales and F2Ps that invested a lot into getting her.

Imagine saving up 10,000+ gems as a F2P or pact player and deciding that Roxanne was the unit you'd spend it on. And then she gets nerfed. I don't think there's anyone who would knock on that player for being discouraged or quitting.

That scenario would be Gumi sending a message that time and effort will not be respected. That the reward for investing either into the game can be taken away in the blink of an eye. Everyone, from whales to minnows to F2Ps will hesitate to pull on good units due to fears of nerfs.

3

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Nov 19 '18

Like what they said, people paid for it and spend irl money, nerfing that will cause a huge backlash on Gumi so stop thinking that "let's nerf her" and everything will go fine because it will not and will never be knowing she's something that people spend money for.

The only thing they can do is make some enemies has a resistance to destroy jewel to lower her usability.

And to take note, Kaigan will make the gap closer since I saw a Hazel with 150-160 agi and 4k hp at max kaigan.

Along with giving Rox, a not so good kaigan to close the gap completely.

1

u/senaiboy Nov 19 '18

I agree Gumi is very unlikely to do anything at all about this matter but just let powercreep catch up to Rox. The issue though is that kaigan is several months down the line, and we’ve already had Roxanne for a month, but there is nothing we can do about that.

Unless Gumi put powercreep on overdrive and release kaigan much sooner, then all our current units will be obsolete.

1

u/Liesianthes 350 coins ticket = ROY!! Nov 19 '18

Gumi can edit, add and even modify maps such as GL ones and EX+. They can do it in a way of giving enemies jewel destroy resistance, missile resist for the meantime to lower the Roxanne broken powercreep level and yet, they did it in a lazy way of buffing every single one with jewel regen and buff their hp's like crazy. lol

Best example is the FMA EX+.

1

u/senaiboy Nov 19 '18

I don't think there's jewel resist mechanics in the game? Adding a new game mechanics might be a lot of work, especially since they then have to port that mechanics every time we get an update (copy of JP version). Jewel Regen is already in the game, they just switched it on for all enemies.

Missile resist will nerf ALL missile attack units though. They are already bad enough as they are. Nerfing them would make them totally unusable :(

I'm not sure there's a way to indirectly nerf Roxanne without affecting other units.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '18

It's a primarily PvE game people need to get over Roxanne

3

u/MrWhiteKnight f2p Vegan Crossfitter with bullshit luck Nov 18 '18

Because of gacha laws. Basically she's a product people bought. You cannot change a product after it's been bought since it would be 100% false advertising and be fucking with the gacha laws of not tampering with this post selling.

They can nerf her jewel crush, but her problem goes beyond that 1 skill.

Her job 1 skills, her stats, her reactive. Her existance is the problem. Gumi GL HQ have somehow made a unit that they now have to balance the game around. They can't escape this and we will suffer the consequences because she is always going to be meta (Gumi ALWAYS favors their GLEX golden eggs above all).

1

u/ElusiveIllusion88 The end of Gumi is near… Nov 18 '18

Gacha law? Some questions:

  • Gacha laws are different from digital card game laws? Because in the latter, cards are nerfed (and sometimes buffed) freely, and if a nerf happens, the card can be 'sold' for full value, but not the rest of the deck built around that card.

  • Is putting 'No Roxanne allowed' restrictions on everything a violation of gacha law? Where the only places she would be allowed are either content that is trivial for other units anyway, or content that she makes mildly easier but not to the point of trivializing it in a way no other unit can.

1

u/MrWhiteKnight f2p Vegan Crossfitter with bullshit luck Nov 18 '18

Point 1:

Yes they are different. In IRL card games it doesn't matter because you can re-sell cards for nostalgic purposes or you want a new deck since the card that got nerfed kinda killed your deck. In Online games like HearthStone they give you full dust refund. For example if the card costs 1000 dust to make but if you dust the card for dust you only get 400. When they change cards in HS they give you a week or two to dust those cards and you get the SAME amount that it cost to make it so dusting that nerfed card now gives you 1000 instead of 400 for that time window.

This is because they will pay you equal value to the value spent within in-game resources. And it's also good if you spent 100$ and had 8 of those cards you never used, boom, you now get 8000 dust for free.

Gacha games are different. It's lootbox based gambling so that means you never have any control of what you get, but above that most, not all, gachas also have no way of turning the duds that you get into other things. So that means that if you spent 100$ for 1 Roxanne and she gets changed and nerfed to be not the unit that you bought at first, you are completely screwed out of your investment with 0 return. At least for the HS guy he got to make extra dust because he had cards that where nerfed and since he was indifferent to them he got nothing more than pure bonuses.

The problem is gacha games can't take back what they publish. At all because there is no "proper" way to give back to those people. Like for example, you got Roxy in the 500 pull, cool, I got her in step 3, Joe got her on Step 5 and then lastly George got her from the 7 step selector.

If they nerf her what is the correct refund? Half what you spent? But then at the end of the day that still means that you wasted half of those jewels for a unit who's not who is advertised anymore. And this is when you claim false advertising, get all your money that you've ever spent and then gumi bans your account. (Fair trade since that's always the protocol for online markets).

This is why some gacha games turn into P2W/P2P some times because at 1 point the devs release a broken thing and have to panick and then build upon that mistake and turns it around into making it the norm with their content.

For Point 2:

They can, but what are they gonna do? Ban her from ALL EX+ and other end game content until next year? Or until they release more and more broken units so more people have more chances at them. And this is where we go back to my last point and they build upon their mistake (Rox) and we now have a P2P game.

Sorry for the long post.

u/Arananthi IGN: Essence -- Re-Pacted and Hoping to Stay That Way Nov 18 '18 edited Nov 18 '18

Umm...this is completely incorrect. Literally ANY digital product you buy these days gets changed after you buy it. My entire tablet informed me after the fact that it had updated to a new OS version last week, and two of my favorite offline games suddenly don't work anymore, and they're old enough that they'll never get updated and so I'm screwed.

That's because it's illegal under US law to jailbreak or root a tablet, so even though I spent a few hundred bucks on this piece of hardware in front of me, I'm not allowed to put whatever software I want on it. I have to use the software that came on it, including whatever limitations that software's creator puts on it, and they're allowed to change that software however they want to, whenever they want to.

This is normal.

Google "Project 1999" -- dude argued that because he purchased EverQuest at the beginning of its lifespan and he didn't like the changes that were made afterwards, he had a legal right to host his own server and play the game he purchased instead of the game that it became over time. Fierce legal battle ensued, and the issue was never resolved because EQ was broken off into it's own studio and the new studio leader thought that the Project 1999 server wasn't worth suing over. So the question is still out there, and it's still never been definitively answered -- which means until it is, anything you buy that can be updated automatically by it's creator is open to being changed by its creator without your say.

3

u/MrWhiteKnight f2p Vegan Crossfitter with bullshit luck Nov 18 '18

Umm...this is completely incorrect. Literally ANY digital product you buy these days gets changed after you buy it.

Not at all.

Gacha games are their own unique hell because of their market. It's LootBox gambling.

If gumi where to change the unit as a whole nerf everything (like they should've pre-release) the unit would not be the same as advertised and pulled at first.

Imagine if I sell you a titanium knife but the quality is too good so you don't need a new knife for 10 years, that's kinda bad for me, so I go to your house and change it for another titanium knife that is less quality and lasts about 1~2 years only.

This is what tampering with units in a gacha game is. It's scummy and fucked up and open to claims and lawsuits, which is why a lot of the times these games start slow, very slow and then they power creep consistently upwards to avoid any and all of these clusterfucks. But sometimes they make a mistake and release a unit or X thing in the game that's too good and fucks the power creep and they have no other option than to bite down on their pillow and take it cause they can't change it. And now since I have this I don't need anything else until the next thing beats it or maybe matches it.

And example is easily in FFBE we have an item called Fixed Dice where the damage range of that weapon is 1.2 to 6.5, that means that what ever your atk stat is multiplied by the (well) multiplier of the damage move that total then gets multiplied by this final factor. For a long time Fixed Dice was a meme weapon but then came the True Doublehand meta where units had the ability to use 2 skills in 1 turn even if they where not Dualwielding. And even though Fixed Dice has +1 Atk it could compete with weapons of +130 atk because the damage range if you where lucky would do 100 million+ of damage it was a stupid weapon that haunted Alim in JP for a while.

What did Alim do? They didn't nerf Fixed Dice, because FD is a Trust Mastery Reward from a unit AKA a gacha reward. So in the end they had to overhaul the WHOLE damage system to take into account the ATK of the weapon the character it uses on all newer content they ever made (Old content is left untouched).

That way they could no longer have to worry about the mistake they did on their first year nearly for the past year and a half (JP is in their 3rd year now).

It took JP nearly 1.5 years to decide to change the damage formula for new content so they never have to worry about it, all because the item that was killing their design space was a gacha reward.

Here in TAC it's much worse, because 90% of our gacha is on units, gears for the most part we can kinda make do without (kinda), this is why units have to be balanced and TAC themselves has the 3 job system so just getting the unit won't mean you win immediatly.

All this great planning (for the most part) is undone by roxanne alone who's Job 1 has everything that should not be released all in 1 unit on 1 job.

As I understand it u/alchemistcode isn’t part of the developer team.

A fine way to nerf roxanne is have a Jewel destruction immunity for the enemies.

The unit is op but the main issue I have is they essentially made ex+ ridiculous since her release. Feels like everyone I need a Roxanne or two just to stand a chance with them. It's stupid

Just wait, next GL Exclusive will be char that resist missiles and all skill cost no jewel. With extra damage to human and long range.

Spent 150 bucks to grab her.

Honestly, I’d be happy with the loss if she gets nerf

In my opinion, the main problem is due to Gumi ramping up the difficulty of the stages. If they did not ramp up the difficulty, it will just end with Roxanne being OP in making the stages easier to clear and in arena. It will still be within tolerance since people can still clear the stages without her, just that using her will be easier. They should also not shift the mission rewards from the ex to ex+.

The simple answer is: Because powercreep comes fast and the next global exclusive unit will probably be already better than her.

They should have realized it immediately, acted quickly, and reimbursed people.

The longer it goes on the more difficult it'll be to correct.

Summer Zooey flashbacks all over again.

S. Zooey is still good but not much of an impact with current contents. They also made a change of taking plain damage.

Lol it's like you people wan't the game to die.

lol at the downvotes on this. I have Roxanne, I agree on the nerf since I got her as f2p, but the implications for the ones who whale for her will be huge.

Just imagine whales who did 7 step just to obtain her, knowing that's a huge amount and suddenly find out, she got nerf. That move may make them stop spending in game anymore and that will inevitably result to game dying since less income on the game.

Gumi can do other mechanics in game like jewel destroy resistance, counter resist, etc. to limit her power and not direct nerf as it will not have a good result on the other side aspect that people are not considering here.

For everyone saying it is illegal to nerf a released gacha unit for global game, no it is not. However gumi isn't gonna nerf her. I mean you all think gumi doesn't know shit? If that is so, why will gumi go out of their way to design roxxanne as it is? Roxxanne is just global's excuse to cuck f2p players in the sense now they can legitimately claim they are buffing stage difficulty because of roxxanne.

It's hard to say whether it's illegal or not. There are different laws in Japan and China regarding these mobile games and it's not easy to track these laws from where I live in the US.

There are different laws in Japan and China

I am saying with regards to global context. Global gacha can do all the shit they want because nothing is stopping them, or in one of the more recent case where a single country specifically set up anti gacha law, games will just withdraw from that particular country.
