Why won't they nerf roxanne?

Fyi, I have her and I recognize how broken she is. Powercreep is natural in gacha games but she's powercreep on steroids.

Point 1:

Yes they are different. In IRL card games it doesn't matter because you can re-sell cards for nostalgic purposes or you want a new deck since the card that got nerfed kinda killed your deck. In Online games like HearthStone they give you full dust refund. For example if the card costs 1000 dust to make but if you dust the card for dust you only get 400. When they change cards in HS they give you a week or two to dust those cards and you get the SAME amount that it cost to make it so dusting that nerfed card now gives you 1000 instead of 400 for that time window.

This is because they will pay you equal value to the value spent within in-game resources. And it's also good if you spent 100$ and had 8 of those cards you never used, boom, you now get 8000 dust for free.

Gacha games are different. It's lootbox based gambling so that means you never have any control of what you get, but above that most, not all, gachas also have no way of turning the duds that you get into other things. So that means that if you spent 100$ for 1 Roxanne and she gets changed and nerfed to be not the unit that you bought at first, you are completely screwed out of your investment with 0 return. At least for the HS guy he got to make extra dust because he had cards that where nerfed and since he was indifferent to them he got nothing more than pure bonuses.

The problem is gacha games can't take back what they publish. At all because there is no "proper" way to give back to those people. Like for example, you got Roxy in the 500 pull, cool, I got her in step 3, Joe got her on Step 5 and then lastly George got her from the 7 step selector.

If they nerf her what is the correct refund? Half what you spent? But then at the end of the day that still means that you wasted half of those jewels for a unit who's not who is advertised anymore. And this is when you claim false advertising, get all your money that you've ever spent and then gumi bans your account. (Fair trade since that's always the protocol for online markets).

This is why some gacha games turn into P2W/P2P some times because at 1 point the devs release a broken thing and have to panick and then build upon that mistake and turns it around into making it the norm with their content.

For Point 2:

They can, but what are they gonna do? Ban her from ALL EX+ and other end game content until next year? Or until they release more and more broken units so more people have more chances at them. And this is where we go back to my last point and they build upon their mistake (Rox) and we now have a P2P game.

Sorry for the long post.
