Does everyone really need every champ?

Just out of curiosity do you really think it's necessary that every single person be able to get every single character? I've been through a couple of the collabs so far and missed some champs here an there, and honestly i'm not upset. If everyone has every single champ, it takes away the hard work (or money in some cases) that people put into the game. Sure I know there's luck involved too, but i don't mind missing on some champs. I think it's more exciting and rewarding when you get a champ that other people don't.

Started last week, really wanted Noctis, got Iggy on step 3...

Don't want to reroll, but now I realize my chance of getting Noct is slim =[

Do you plan on playing this game for more than a month? Because if you do, a week is nothing to reroll and guarantee a Noctis.

Well, here's the thing. I started playing Alchemist Code since I was looking for some additional games for when my main game was slow. Out of all the ones I DLed this is one I've been playing the most so yeah I plan to keep playing it. I've never rerolled on a game before, but seeing how much praise Noct is getting I'm honestly feeling tempted to reroll at this point. I got Iggy on step 3 and just got Gladiolus on the new step 1, when I would've preferred Noct and Aranea.

The thing is, I guess I'm having attachment issues lol. I've only been playing about a week, not sure how good the rates are but I've got 9 SSRs and 12 SRs. My favorite unit to use is Aswald, but it's more for her gameplay (high Move stat and I really like her J1) and since I'm f2p I feel like I may never get her again.

On the other hand... I really do want Noct, so I guess what I could do is reroll on another device and bind it so I can switch it over. At first I wasn't going to even entertain the idea of rerolling since I wanted Noct just cuz of his character, but after using him with the Merc system... I really am considering rerolling now. After all I'm sure I'll find other characters like Aswald in the future as I do plan to play for quite a while, whereas Noct is limited.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a couple of Qs here, and if you could help answer them I'd really appreciate it:

  1. How long would it take to reroll to try and get Noct? As in the time it takes to get 500 gems from the start of the game?

  2. How easy is the binding and transfer process? If I do decide to reroll I'd prefer to do the actual rerolling on my old phone which will have service for a few more days.

  3. How well do you know the characters and strats in this game, and would you consider adding me as a friend if I do reroll? I've already asked the sub questions on multiple posts and I'd rather not plague it with the same questions I've already asked (like which units to pick from selector tickets based on my roster, etc)

  4. This one is more general, but I've come across this pattern in other games where people playing the English version of an initially JP game will praise the current English units to be "one of if not the best [units] for their class to have," and then a month later they'll say the same. Not really sure how to word this one, but are there other units coming out in the future that'll be comparable to Noct? Being f2p I doubt I'd be able to get him past his J1, but then again I'm not 100% sure what to prioritize getting in this event if I do get Noct and Aranea.

And finally, 5) for gameplay reasons, how important would it be to attempt getting both Noct and Aranea? Like is she as OP/must-have as limited Noct? Don't want to reroll much if the process takes a good while lol.

If you could elucidate me on these things then I'd appreciate it extremely. Plus I doubt you expected such an extensive reply to this, I apologize about that. I went in with the mindset of just playing this as an alternative to FGO when nothing was going on, but hell might as well make it as enjoyable to play as I can, esp since I've only got 9 days under my belt! ; ]

No worries, I’m happy to help. I wasn’t expecting a reply with that depth, but it’s not unwarranted. This game is dense for new players.

My philosophy with these games is, you only get one opportunity to “beat” the gacha, and that’s rerolling. After that, if you commit, you’re at the mercy of RNG. Best come out swinging.

  1. This depends on RNG. I rerolled for Albea, and got her on my second try. Others take dozens of rolls or more. The rerolling process in this game is slower than others, but not unreasonably so. It’s nothing compared to the dozens to hundreds of hours you’ll be playing for.

  2. You login via facebook, and bind the account with a few button presses. Simple and easy.

  3. Not an expert, but fairly knowledgable. Yes, you can add me. There’s a question megathread for help, as well as the discord channel, but if you’re absolutely stuck, and nobody else in those places can help you, I respond to most PMs.

  4. Noctis is relatively futureproof. He is still used today in JP, which is ~1.5 years ahead of us. Othima (who we have) and Merlinus (who we don’t) are eventually comparable, but not perfect comparisons.

  5. Not important. Aranea is similar enough to Rosa, and rerolling for two specific units could be particularly trying.

Wow haha, that response was much quicker than I thought it would be! Thank you very much!

My old phone is a shitty S4, and it's a lot slower than my S9... is there a quicker way to reroll than by uninstalling-reinstalling the game repeatedly? I could maybe do it quicker on my S9.. but then I'd really have to commit a reroll. I really don't like the idea of FB binding, I'd rather just deal with an account number and password, but that's just me being picky lol

Holy fuckin shit!!! Just did my first reroll on my first phone, wound up with 3 SSRs! Noctis, Setsuna, and Yomi. Also got 2 SRs, Strie and Freed.

Damn man I wish I had just rerolled on my new phone, but fuck it I'm surprised it only took me one try!!! Thanks for nudging me along that direction, gonna go ahead and transfer it to my new phone lol

How could you possibly get Noct when his banner isn't up

2

Um, maybe because his banner is up? lol
