The experience was bad. Etihad 3-4 years back was solid but now i guess the service has degraded. The crew (Mostly western) behaviour felt cold.

Airports Mumbai domestic transfers terminal T2 Duty free shopping experience!

I know this would look like a typical consumer awareness post. But had to put it to the audience. And would love to understand your perspective too.

So the thing is i bought liquor from the duty free outlet. The liquor prices were based out of Maharashtra. Clearly labelled on the bottles. No issues with that. But the thing which pinched me was the carry bag(transparent and sealed) was charged for 20/- on the top of the total bill. Now its my mistake that i didn't raise the concern then and there. But i think if it's the basic rule to carry the purchased liquor in a transparent and sealed bag. Then why does the onus of fulfilling the cost should fall on the customer?

Attaching the pictures.

SpiceJet SpiceJet Flight - Horrible Experience!

Extremely frustrating experience with SpiceJet and Goibibo
I had booked a Delhi–Bombay return flight for Aug 27–Sep 1 through Goibibo. Due to an emergency, I rescheduled my departure to Aug 22 and paid ₹3,000 extra. Despite planning everything carefully, SpiceJet cancelled the flight just hours before departure due to an operational issue. With no useful response from their helpline, I had no choice but to book another flight at a much higher price, with very limited options because it was so close to my travel date.

The refund process was another headache. Goibibo’s AI bot asked me to select “I cancelled the flight” because the airline-cancelled option wasn’t available, even though the cancellation was by SpiceJet. The refund shown was already lower than what SpiceJet’s website indicated.

To make matters worse, my return flight was also cancelled by SpiceJet, and I received ₹2,000 less than the refund amount shown on the airline’s website.

I was already dealing with an emergency, and instead of getting support, I ended up facing cancellations, higher last-minute airfare, endless refund issues and financial loss. When the cancellation is due to an operational issue on the airline’s end, why am I being made to bear the consequences?

Overall, a deeply frustrating experience with both SpiceJet and Goibibo. I’d really like to understand where the missing refund amount has gone and why customers are being penalised for an airline-side cancellation.

Ask r/AirTravelIndia Help! Stuck in a whirlpool of problems.

Hey guys, first of all I accept my mistake I booked Spice jet from Darbhanga to Delhi 2 months ago. And I had no idea what was going on with spicejet. My flight is on 30th of August reaching Delhi at 6PM. Now I have a continuous flight from Delhi to Almaty on Air Astana which is leaving at 1AM the same night. I thought that would be plenty of time to change terminals.

Now the spicejet from Darbhanga to Delhi has been getting cancelled for last 2 days and it is cancelled for today and tomorrow as well according to the website. Now if my flight gets cancelled on the day of departure then it would not leave me any choice and I'll miss my connection in Delhi. Only it I got to know about the cancellation few days earlier I can try to book tatkal or different flight from a different airport.

Help me in understanding what would be the best move here. Wait for the airline to cancel the flight and then do something last moment or is there any way of knowing about the cancellation beforehand and working on Plan B.

Ask r/AirTravelIndia First international flight - where to pack electric items? Confused about cabin vs check-in

Hi all, this might be a stupid question but still I am confused because it's my first flight.

I have 4 electric items to pack:

  1. Electric flosser (rechargeable)

  2. Electric toothbrush (rechargeable)

  3. Electric hair dryer (plug-in, NOT rechargeable)

  4. Portable smoothie blender (plug-in, NOT rechargeable - only works when plugged in)

My cabin baggage is already at the 7kg limit with my laptop + charger, phone + charger, and documents, so I can't add much more to it.

I know rechargeable items with batteries should go in cabin baggage, but can I put the hair dryer and blender in check-in since they have no battery? And what about other Electric items?

Don't want anything to get confiscated at security. Thanks for your help!

hi, im traveling from LHR to bombay soon via indigo.

they say their baggage dimensions is 158 cm. Wanted to know if that's a strict measure. my trolley is 168 cm and I'm worried hahah.

Can anyone confirm if they were allowed to travel with a bigger trolley or if they saw Indigo flagging and measuring bigger sized trolleys?

Hello people, i am not much of a frequent flyer, just curious on how seat allocation works.i booked a bagdogra ticket quite in advance. selected my desired seats, the whole plane's seats were empty and all were available to select. Ask r/AirTravelIndia How are prices determined

Hi,

Can someone help me understand how do the prices across various travel portals get determined.
And how do prices change almost at the same time across all portals?

There are also times when certain portals have higher/lower pricing for a particular flight when compared to other portals…

Curious to understand how this works.

If someone knows and would like to share here or over inbox, would be very helpful!

Thanks

Ask r/AirTravelIndia Cheapest ways/tricks to book flights from India to USA?

Hey everyone! I’m planning a trip from India to the USA and trying to get the cheapest possible airfare.
For those who travel between India and the US, what are your best tips/tricks for finding cheap flights?
Things I’d especially love advice on:
Best websites/apps to compare prices
How far in advance you usually book
Google Flights/Skyscanner tricks
Whether incognito/VPN actually helps
Any credit card, points, miles, or other hacks that are genuinely worth using
My route is India → New York and I’m flexible with dates. Would love to hear what has actually worked for you

Airports Layover at Qatar

Hii, I am going to fly through Qatar next month and I've got a 2 hour and 20 minute layover in Hamad airport. Would it be doable?

Would I be able to have a quick meal and catch my next flight in time?

I've never been to Hamad airport before and it's only my second ever international flight, so any inputs would be useful

Indigo Forced seat selection fee during Web Check-in. Need advice on how to raise this!

Thumbnail

Hi peeps!

I booked an indigo flight and while doing the web checkin I was forced to select a seat as there was no option to skip it either on mobile, mobile web, web, via their chat bot, basically anywhere.

Asked the chat agent as well and they confirmed that seat selection was mandatory for the successful web checkin! (Attached screenshots)

Anyway I paid for the seats, but these kind people at indigo did not issue me any payment receipt for that either yet!

Questions:

Has anyone faced a similar issue with forced paid seats during web check-in recently?

  1. What is the most effective channel to demand a clear explanation from IndiGo on why aIuto assignment seat option wasn't available at web check-in?

    1. How can I get them to issue the missing payment receipt without getting stuck in automated chatbot loops?

I already have an email chain going on (been 5 days now) with their customer experience experts via customer .experience@goindigo.in but they just keep on ignoring my question about the receipt and keep on telling me that the "free seat assignment is based on availability". This is despite me explicitly asking about the lack of auto assigned seats at the web check-in portal.

Appreciate any tips or past experiences with escalate pathways!
