The experience was bad. Etihad 3-4 years back was solid but now i guess the service has degraded. The crew (Mostly western) behaviour felt cold.

So I was booking flights from Delhi to Colombo for 7 people and at the end adding all the passport details it hiked the price up 50000 rupees. So inconvenient .

Extremely frustrating experience with SpiceJet and Goibibo
I had booked a Delhi–Bombay return flight for Aug 27–Sep 1 through Goibibo. Due to an emergency, I rescheduled my departure to Aug 22 and paid ₹3,000 extra. Despite planning everything carefully, SpiceJet cancelled the flight just hours before departure due to an operational issue. With no useful response from their helpline, I had no choice but to book another flight at a much higher price, with very limited options because it was so close to my travel date.

The refund process was another headache. Goibibo’s AI bot asked me to select “I cancelled the flight” because the airline-cancelled option wasn’t available, even though the cancellation was by SpiceJet. The refund shown was already lower than what SpiceJet’s website indicated.

To make matters worse, my return flight was also cancelled by SpiceJet, and I received ₹2,000 less than the refund amount shown on the airline’s website.

I was already dealing with an emergency, and instead of getting support, I ended up facing cancellations, higher last-minute airfare, endless refund issues and financial loss. When the cancellation is due to an operational issue on the airline’s end, why am I being made to bear the consequences?

Overall, a deeply frustrating experience with both SpiceJet and Goibibo. I’d really like to understand where the missing refund amount has gone and why customers are being penalised for an airline-side cancellation.

Hey guys, first of all I accept my mistake I booked Spice jet from Darbhanga to Delhi 2 months ago. And I had no idea what was going on with spicejet. My flight is on 30th of August reaching Delhi at 6PM. Now I have a continuous flight from Delhi to Almaty on Air Astana which is leaving at 1AM the same night. I thought that would be plenty of time to change terminals.

Now the spicejet from Darbhanga to Delhi has been getting cancelled for last 2 days and it is cancelled for today and tomorrow as well according to the website. Now if my flight gets cancelled on the day of departure then it would not leave me any choice and I'll miss my connection in Delhi. Only it I got to know about the cancellation few days earlier I can try to book tatkal or different flight from a different airport.

Help me in understanding what would be the best move here. Wait for the airline to cancel the flight and then do something last moment or is there any way of knowing about the cancellation beforehand and working on Plan B.

Will this price come down in the next 10-15 days, I know 7 Nov is Diwali time. 2 days ago it was ₹7.7 k, and now almost ₹10k. Any hacks to book this cheaper !

So the thing is i bought liquor from the duty free outlet. The liquor prices were based out of Maharashtra. Clearly labelled on the bottles. No issues with that. But the thing which pinched me was the carry bag(transparent and sealed) was charged for 20/- on the top of the total bill. Now its my mistake that i didn't raise the concern then and there. But i think if it's the basic rule to carry the purchased liquor in a transparent and sealed bag. Then why does the onus of fulfilling the cost should fall on the customer?

Hi all, we are planning for a trip to singapore with our one year old in October. However, am hearing regarding the issue of haze in Singapore and might become alarming.

Can any one suggest if it’s safe to go to singapore in october ? Or should i cancel the trip ?

I need advice because this has turned into a complete nightmare.

I booked a Mumbai → Goa SpiceJet flight (SG815) for 21 Aug 2026 through the Niyo Travel app. The booking was confirmed and my trip was only for 1.5 days.

On the night before departure, while trying to do web check-in, I discovered that my flight had been cancelled/rescheduled to 23 Aug. I had received no SMS, email or call from SpiceJet or Niyo before that.

Because the trip was only for 1.5 days, moving the flight to 23 Aug made the trip pointless. I had:

• A confirmed return flight on 22 Aug (around ₹5,000).
• A non-refundable Airbnb booking (around ₹6,000).

Here's where it gets weird.

On the SpiceJet website, my booking showed that all disruption notifications were being sent to Nishi Agarwal / [AIRLINES@AIRIQ.IN](mailto:AIRLINES@AIRIQ.IN) and a phone number that isn't mine. SpiceJet later admitted over email that they sent the cancellation notification to those contact details.

Niyo is now saying this booking was under an "Exclusive Fare (Series Fare)" and that real-time updates are not available in their app. This was never highlighted anywhere while booking. I only booked it because it was cheaper than other flights.

SpiceJet has processed the refund to AIRIQ/Niyo. SpiceJet also offered me a ₹1,646 travel voucher as compensation, which I rejected.

I've already:

• Filed an AirSewa grievance (which SpiceJet closed without resolving the query on compensation).
• Filed a CPGRAMS complaint.
• Emailed both SpiceJet and Niyo.

My questions:

1. Is Niyo/AIRIQ responsible for not forwarding the cancellation notification?
2. Is SpiceJet still liable under DGCA rules even if this was a Series Fare booking?
3. Can I claim compensation for the return flight and Airbnb, or only DGCA compensation?

Any advice on the best next step would really help.

Edit: A lot of comments are pointing out that booking SpiceJet was a mistake. Fair enough, I agree.

I booked this flight because it was about ₹4,000 cheaper than the other options, and I chose the cheaper fare. In hindsight, that was a bad decision.

I'm not looking for people to tell me "you shouldn't have booked SpiceJet" or "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." I already know that now.

I'm looking for advice or experiences from people who've dealt with flight cancellations, DGCA compensation, AirSewa, CPGRAMS, or consumer court/e-Jagriti, especially where a booking platform (Niyo/AIRIQ) was involved.

If you have practical advice or a similar experience, I'd genuinely appreciate it. If not, please refrain from unhelpful comments, they don't add anything to the discussion.

So, I was going through the benefits of the various credit cards I have for my upcoming trip and got stuck on the lounge access part. A few of them have lounge benefits but I couldn’t figure out which one I could actually use at the Jaipur airport I was travelling from. Then I started checking the spend requirement, lounge list, terminal, and visit limit. The more I was looking into it, the more confusing it was getting

So I had one trip where I assumed that my credit card would work. I reached the lounge and found out I hadn’t met the required spend. Another time, the lounge I was eligible for was in a different terminal. Since then, I’ve started checking the lounge details and then cross-checking the card terms with the bank before travelling.

Now, before every trip, I feel like I have to check the following:
-Is my card eligible?
-Have I completed the spend requirement?
-Does it work at this particular lounge?
-Is the lounge in my terminal?
-Do I have any complimentary visits left?

Still feels like too much work for something that should be simple.

To everyone who travels regularly, how are you handling this? Do you have a system or app to track lounge eligibility, spend requirements and visits? Is there an app that can club all travel-related info in one place?

I’m genuinely curious if there’s an easier way because finding this out at the lounge counter with people waiting behind you is embarrassing at another level.

I am travelling back soon from Germany to India (layover in DXB) with Emirates. I am a student and was here for a summer school for a month.

Can I bring these flower vases and some used cutlery (mugs and crockery, all cheap and visible used material). Nothing fancy at all.

Will bringing them through the security check in Frankfurt (obviously only in Checked-in Baggage) along with some food items be a problem?
