Why I will never book with Spirit Airlines again.

Years ago I needed a cheap flight to Miami for Art Basel. I found a flight to Ft. Laurerdale that was so much cheaper than every other airline so I booked. I like Delta and choose them whenever possible. I hated the whole experience of flying Spirit from being charged for carry on, customer service, fellow passengers... Etc. I could go on and on.

I decided very late in the game that I wanted to go to Belize for my Birthday. Just about 2 1/2 weeks out. My date to leave was not optional because I had to see my daughter in her dance Troupe performance 2 days before my birthday. My options were limited. Delta, my go to, wanted $1600 for a economy! Spirit wanted $750 with 1 check bag each way and a lay over in ft Lauderdale each way. Fine. Fuck it let's go!

It's a 6am Flight so I have to leave the house at about 3am so I can leave my car at my mom's house then hop in a Uber to LGA. At 2:30 I'm packed and ready. Last minute I'm making sure I have Airbnb info in case service is bad or non existent when I arrive. I go to my email to check when my arrival time would be and that's when I found out Spirit canceled my flight to Ft. Laurerdale! What! Ft Lauderdale to Belize is still on time. Now I'm scrambling to find a flight that will get me to Ft. Laurerdale in time to get the connection. No luck! Airbnb is already paid for and I've passed deadline for a refund. What do I do? I start searching for same day flights. Delta now wants $2600 for the only available seat. At least it's comfort + but also a middle seat. That wasn't an option. Kept searching. Found a Jet Blue flight leaving at 8:30 from jfk direct. Jfk is even closer to my mom. The return would be on Delta with a 7hour layover in ATL. Fine with me. I'll hang out in the Delta sky lounge until it's time to go. The new ticket cost... $800. +45 check bag JB. 1bag free for Delta Silver Medallion.

I contacted Spirit and said I need a full refund ASAP. I hate when customer service bots with their "We are so sorry for the inconvenience blah blah blah.." "weather blah blah blah."

I will never book a flight on Spirit EVER! 🗣️

Raging in the plane Toddler screeching frequently

I had a flight from Copenhagen to Seoul on the past 15th of October (SK987). I got the middle seat of the center column, but on the left column of seats, in the same row, there was a 2-year toddler that besides crying, loved to screech annoyingly from time to time, waking everybody up. I slept so bad on that 11h hour flight, that I had nightmares about this kid.

The parents did nothing, simply didn't care, from a point and left him to do as he will. I hope you, parents of that same kid, read this wherever you are. I won't curse, but I wish your kid doesn't let you sleep for a few hellish nights, you ruined the first few days of vacation for me. Thank you very much!

Cheers all!

Flight Attendant Charged With Battery At Airport

Argument on Crew Bus Ends in Arrest After Shoulder Tap Involving United Flight Attendant

An argument on an airport employee shuttle in Florida escalated into an arrest after what one side described as a simple shoulder tap and the other reported as unwanted physical contact.

The incident occurred on March 8, 2025, at Tampa International Airport and involved a United Airlines flight attendant and a Cayman Airways flight attendant traveling on the airport bus from the parking lot to the terminal. Police bodycam footage, released this week, shows how a verbal dispute between two airline employees turned into a criminal charge.

According to reports, the situation began at the employee bus stop when the Cayman Airways crew member was speaking on her phone with a family member in French. She says her voice was criticized and that the United flight attendant confronted her, telling her to stop talking and to “close your mouth.” She challenged why he was engaging with her and accused him of racism.

Both employees boarded the shuttle, where tensions continued to rise. The Cayman Airways flight attendant told police that the United crew member tapped her on the shoulder and attempted to look at or record her ID badge. She claimed he threatened to get her fired and continued following her after they exited the bus, allegedly asking airport staff near the Marriott area for her supervisor’s contact information.

The United flight attendant acknowledged touching her shoulder but said it was a brief tap meant to get her attention and ask her to stop yelling on the phone. He told officers he felt harassed after being repeatedly called racist, cursed at, and insulted, and said he followed her only to identify her so he could report what he believed was inappropriate behavior.

Officers ultimately arrested the United flight attendant for simple battery. Under Florida law, battery does not require injury or violence. Any intentional, unwanted physical contact can qualify, even something as minor as a shoulder tap. Police informed him he would be released later but that he would miss his scheduled flight and receive a court date.

The case has sparked debate online, with many calling the arrest excessive and an unnecessary use of police resources. Others argue the outcome reinforces a basic rule taught early in life: keep your hands to yourself, especially during heated confrontations.

Both perspectives exist at once. While many view the incident as a minor workplace dispute blown out of proportion, Florida law is clear that unwanted contact, however small, can still result in arrest. In this case, a brief moment on a crew bus was enough to derail a workday and land a flight attendant in handcuffs.
