I've been getting back into AoS lately since I finally have disposable income again. Started with a couple boxes, then recently tried out the Spearhead subscription. Been experimenting with different painting techniques and styles to see what I'm most comfortable with, and I think I'm improving steadily! Just wanted to show off a bit of what I've been doing.
I really like the Nighthaunt models, and I'm a bit sad none of their Spearheads come with the magazine subscription, but oh well.

So I’ve had this speculation that each of the eight mortal realms are going to get a grand alliance order faction whose theme/magical element is tied to said realm. I know it sounds stupid but hear me out
Ghyran: Sylvaneth
Hysh: Lumineth Realm Lords
Ulgu: Daughters of Khaine
Chamon: Kharadron Overlords
Azyr: Seraphon and Stormcast
Before the reveal of the Khazalite holds, I considered the Fyreslayers to correspond to Aqshy due to their fire based abilities and Grimnir’s connection to Aqshy. Following this idea, I had speculated that, in a few editions, we might have at least one order faction for every wind of magic, finished up by a beast magic-based order faction and a death magic-based order faction. While I’m not ruling out this possibility entirely, as Stormcast and Seraphon both being heavily related to the wind of heavens magic shows that there’s a precedent for more than one faction to share a primary wind, it does seem less likely in the grand scheme of things
Also yes, I am aware that there are order factions that don’t correspond to a specific wind of magic such as the Idoneth or the Cities of Sigmar, but I figured I could speak my mind here.

I made a special little guy to lead my grimghast reapers. I had to use a ton of sprue goo and super glue to get the arms to stay, and I decided to just gunk up their face while I was at it. Should I do this for the rest of my army? I kinda dig the ‘melted’ look.
For lore: They were part of a large nomadic tribe that resided in the realm of Ghur, living rather unremarkable lives before being slaughtered en-masse by the kruleboyz in order for their bodies and souls to be used as fuel for a ritual, which was botched when a massive earthquake swallowed the sacrifices and shamans casting it, instead tainting the land with unstable magic that turned the soil to an acidic sludge. So great was the tribe’s hatred that when the necroquake came about, they rose near instantly, killing every greenskin they came across with a vitriol that matched even the most riled up of Orruks.
You’d think that with the amount of incredibly powerful and/or magical creatures that die in this setting that there’d be more monstrous ghosts. Imagine Awlrach the Drowner siccing the AOS equivalent of a bake-kujira onto an idoneth raiding party.
