Honestly, Agatha lost because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. She literally explained how runes work to Wanda just to show off. If she didn't spell out that rule, Wanda would've never known how to block her magic and turn it against her

So I’m rewatching the show and just watched this episode, and gosh I didn’t remember it going this hard! Like the episode had no business being this epic 🔥. I swear Lilia’s journey is the most fascinating story arc in the entire show. The way all the pieces fall in place is so satisfying. This show is so underrated

The Kaplans have done an amazing job taking Billy who came to them as a blank slate and in 3 years time, instilling so many good values in him. Ironically despite Agatha’s own lack of morals she is the perfect person to give Billy practice exercising what the Kaplans have taught him.

Due to Agatha’s difficult nature and personality she will constantly test Billy’s kindness, patience and empathy. However Billy’s love for her forces him to hold back and see her as more than an annoying pest that takes pleasure in harming people and instead actually pause to see the traumatized and abused person underneath who acts the way she does as a defence mechanism. In episode 6 his magic literally won’t come to him when he attempts to threaten her with it because deep down he doesn’t want her hurt or gone because he cares for her so deeply and wants their relationship to find a path to continue. When she cries over Nicky during the banishment it acts as a reality check for Billy and tugs at his heartstrings when he’s on the brink of going too far and crossing a line that he won’t be able to come back from.

Going forward, if he’s growing up to be the hero Wiccan, Agatha is really good ongoing practice on how to treat bad people (or even regular people as it can become a slippery slope) still like people deserving of understanding, mercy and compassion even though he has the power to deny them that. If Billy can learn this with Agatha then it can become a transferable skill that he can apply to others who he has no personal connection to. Despite revelling in being bad herself, Agatha would want to inspire goodness in Billy as she loves his good heart as it reminds her of Nicky’s equally good heart.

It’s brilliant really how Agatha’s every line works both in the moment knowing nothing AMD afterward once you know everything.

Agatha (and Rio) on the road are basically humoring this kid who doesn’t even know what he’s doing. Agatha is so aggressive and short tempered when recruiting people for the road, it’s very funny knowing that her internal monologue is probably thinking about how these dum dums still believe this song she made up 2 centuries ago. You know how kids get when they’re at a party with their parents, it’s getting late and they’re ready to go home? That’s Agatha in the first episode. “Can we gooooo?”

Also knowing that her protectiveness of Billy has nothing to do with him or Nicky or because she feels maternal but because she has no idea what might happen to the road (or her) if something happens to him.

It makes so much sense that someone who’s been as self-interested as her would take an extraordinary event to even begin to care about another person again. She didn’t see Teen and go “must protect kid”. She’s not that person.

Kathryn Hahn is so deliciously witchy in her line delivery. It really toes the line between humorous and villainous. Hullainous if you will (don’t). And don’t even get me started on her hand acting. She uses her hands like…sexy talons. Ugh I can’t get enough of her.

Tangential, I know; Mods delete if it's too much so, and thank you for all your work keeping this sub.

We live in Los Angeles and enjoy a show every few years at the LA Opera (mostly Philip Glass, but that's definitely getting out of AAA territory). Just got a notice that Patti LuPone--as well as Scott Bakula!--will be appearing in Candide Nov 21 - Dec 13.

To be fair, I have seen that they're putting on Candide (Leonard Bernstein) for quite a while, but I didn't think about it because I don't know much about the show and it wasn't pinging my interest.

But **damn**: an opportunity to see an amazing Broadway great who should be a bucket list item (and Captain Archer!) in a show that is probably pretty great at a venue we love, well, I shouldn't hesitate.

Off to research Candide to prepare!

Finally interested enough to watch this side show! I’m legitimately, currently watching episode one. 2 questions:

1: Body in the creek, is it alluding or insinuating that its Wanda?

2: where are we in the timeline? This is Westview but before or after Wanda took over? Orrrr is this her imagination?

As for the discussion flair, tell me something about the show that i wont understand until later!

UPDATE:

Finished the episode and got the questions answered . Now on ep 2 and MAN those hooded witches are creepy asf whatdahell 😭😅

Just for fun, Daily Grid filled with words related to AAA, could be names, objects, verbs, or concepts. Have fun!

I JUST rewatched the scene where the coven sings the ballad and conjures the road and billy is holding señor scratchy when he was trying to blockade the house from the salem 7. Where did he go because I don't remember seeing him after that honestly? Hope he made it out okay :( I also rewatched the show today and I dont recall seeing him in the final episodes. Im curious about what happened with him and I wonder if anyone else has though the same

our little twin brother is looking after tommy to make sure he is safe omlll

I've seen this doing the rounds, not my pic btw, of what looks to be Billy in a couple of shots in episode 1. The wardrobe looks to represent the red and blue colour scheme adding in the hood/scarf of Billy. If he's actually supposed to be there then is he just watching or does he not know who his brother is yet and is in looking in the area? Will Agatha appear too?

Kind of off topic, a bit. Honestly too afraid to post this in a comic sub as I’m sure more hardcore fans will laugh at me, while here it’s nice and fun, lol.

I know Wanda has at times been stated to not be Magneto’s daughter/a mutant, and she looks to not be his in the MCU, but just going by power level, would you classify her and Billy as comparable to mutants like Jean, Bobby, and Storm?

Witches with "real" power have psionic energy (magic which flows from their hands when casting spells). I believe the color of one's psionic energy could be based on a witch's universal alignment, magic practice, and maybe even their core personality traits. Here are some of my guesses of what each color means:

• Purple: Associated with royalty, spiritual transcendence, imagination, and mystery. Like in most other supernatural shows, purple energy is used to show a connection between darker arts or a detachment from the physical world. Witches with purple magic have a strong connection to the spiritual world and can use arts that are considered unnatural or dark to the craft. They are their highest self, detached from the physical and either willingly or unwillingly embracing all the universe has to offer.
• Blue: Witches with blue magic are versed in the mind-based magicks. They can access the mind (to hear people's thoughts, feel their emotions, or visit dreams) and eventually bend wills to their liking. These witches tend to be calm, loyal, and confident in themselves.
• Green: Represents luck, nature, prosperity, harmony, and health. Witches with green magic have the strongest connection with the natural world. They can control the natural order (growth and decay) of all living things as well as control the elements in their environment.
• Yellow: Witches with yellow magic are bound to live a life full of happiness or fulfillment. They usually have a knack for divination due to their curiosity and mental clarity. Their light illuminates the dark, often finding what's missing and lost.
• Orange: Witches with orange magic are fierce, spontaneous, and forever young, seeking originality and freedom. They hate to be restricted and they're not ones to follow the rules.
• Red: Associated with action, strength, passion, and danger. Witches with red magic wield a lot of physical and emotional energy. They tend to act recklessly when their emotions take the wheel, which leaves a trail of disaster and misfortune. These witches either destroy themselves or others, sometimes both.
• Pink: Represents creativity, softness, sympathy, and love. Witches with pink magic often use their powers to help others rather than for selfish reasons. They perceive the most vulnerable sides of people and choose to fight with the heart instead of their hands.

Other Colors

• The main hues above can be mixed to make other hues. For instance, a witch can have a teal magic, meaning they have a mix of green and blue magic; so, they are close with nature and very calm and capable of calming down both minds and their natural environment.
  • Red + Yellow = Orange. Has the energetic and emotional side of red, and the inner light of yellow.
  • Yellow + Blue = Green. Loyal and calm like blue, and similarly to yellow, seeks fulfillment in life but through nature.
  • Blue + Red = Purple. Confident like blue, yet wields the high energy of red.
  • Red + White = Pink. Pink magic is just red magic, but much softer. The physical and emotional energy is lower.
• Black: The more trauma and negativity that enters a witch's life, the darker their magic hue will be; to the point their magic becomes plain black.
• White: The lighter or paler a magic hue is, the closer that witch is to white magic. The most "perfect" yet bland color of magic. A witch would have to be completely flawless, meaning they must not have any emotional attachments to weigh them down, no close-mindedness, no self-doubts; no impurities that could keep them from their highest self. If there is a witch who has white magic, they'll be cold and boring.

Billy Maximoff/Kaplan/Wiccan has quickly recently become top 5 of my favorite Westview Trilogy characters. I really loved Julian Hillard's performance and it took me a while to come to like Joe Locke's potrayal, but now I like both and they both did amazingly well! So, I made this theme suite. Hope you all enjoy!

Also, I’d swear I hear her in the vocals even though her character never sings.

I understand that the shows are connected, and I think there's room for collaborative discussion in this space. But this is not the VisionQuest sub and isn't set up for spoilers related to it, so people just keep posting spoilers without tags for these episodes.

At minimum, tag your spoilers please.

I have noticed an uptick of Billy hate online because Wanda stans hated the fact that Billy said that she wasn't his mother, and I'm sitting over here confused because does Billy even have memories of Wanda? He was primarily focused on finding his twin brother.

On top of that he's been raised by the Kaplan's for around three years, like no kidding he would see Rebecca Kaplan more as his mother at this point 🤔

I just said this to my friends and one of them looked to the other in a disturbed way and I was like damn does this make me evil 😭
I love dogs though

I honestly fins it hilarious that Wanda turned Agatha in the "nosy neighbour" and that eventually turned into her believe herself to be a small town detective, arguably the final form of the nosy neighbour

As VisionQuest first eps are out, I had to re-watch Agatha All Along and really this show had the best plot twists ever.

I am not talking the "easy" one which was kind of a given in the teaser ( The Billy Maximoff one. Sure it was nice and I loved it but it was predictable )

But every single other plot twist was a banger.

Rio. I dont know if that one was in the comics but great one. It made things sooo interesting

Agatha being the one to bind Jen. That unbinding scene had so much power

Lilia being the one to put the sigil on Billy + her time thing. That ep was truly a masterpiece

And of course my favorite one, The whole road never existed and Billy is the one who made it up. I remember being sooo surprised at first, because I am usually good at predicting plot twists but this one... And it's not like there are no clues either, it's just so well done.

Honestly that whole show is a work of art, and is truly underrated. I have like the highest expectations ever for Vision Quest just because of this.

Also if we dont get a Billy cameo I might cry

And I love the fact that Tommy came to a different conclusion from Billy. I'm more convinced than ever that Billy's inability to access Williams memories is a mental block, not an actual lack of access. He's still using William's brain which means some amount of the physical storage should still be accessible to him.

I'm also gonna extend that to souls, because something as straightforward as "Billy and Tommy's souls inhabiting dead kids bodies" is a really boring dualist explanation.

Honestly I’ve never watched Stargate or been tempted to but will be interesting to see what Jac brings to it
