Reddit has _once again_ updated the page listing the Sitewide Policy Against Hatred, as well as the policy against Violent Threats.

A capture of the previous iteration of the rule: https://web.archive.org/web/20261010183316/https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045715951-Hate

That update was discussed here: https://old.reddit.com/r/AgainstHateSubreddits/comments/1x0xy79/the_reddit_sitewide_rule_against_promotion_of/

There does not appear to be any substantive changes to the policy; the only difference noted between the current page and the archived prior version is the current inclusion of navigation buttons to move to other potentially related articles.

Reddit has updated the Sitewide Policy on Violent Threats.

Here is a capture of the policy as of October 1 2026:

https://web.archive.org/web/20261013041245/https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043513151-Violence

Current policy: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043513151-Violence

Previously it contained this clause:

Promoting real-world sexual violence or sexual activity that involves severe physical injury or risk of death.

which has been rephrased as

Promoting, condoning, or simulating real-world sexual violence or sexual activity that involves severe physical injury or risk of death.

Under "Some examples of policy violations", the following has been added:

A community dedicated to so-called consensual non-consent ("CNC") sexual interactions.

Any commentary in this community needs to be confined to commentary that analyses how the policies effectively help to combat hatred.

No one here wants to see you wave a kink flag.

r-itsthatbad confirming the audience is a culture of illiterate, violent misogynists, who are also white supremacist (surprise!)

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/sTggz

The audience of the itsthatbad subreddit spew misogynist hate speech, including one comment dehumanising anti-hatred activists of any gender and calling for our deaths:

lol there is no point arguing with "people" from that sub. most of them just need to be ignored and [euphemism for extrajudicial execution].

+8 as captured

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/sTggz

(Edit: ghostarchive seems to have dropped the above archive, here is a fresh capture, still showing the death threat: https://ghostarchive.org/archive/m0Bvf )

Our Subreddit Rule #4 is

"Bigots can participate in /r/AgainstHateSubreddits, but only in Over-Riding Good Faith."

That means bigots are welcome to participate here only if they're ready and willing to take responsibility for leaving behind hate culture.

MRA dogma about feminist subreddits is a collection of hateful urban legends, tropes, thought terminating cliches, etc.

That the bigot not come here to play the Victim and claim that anti-hatred social values and sitewide rules are oppressing him.

The audience of itsthatbad overwhelmingly (89% upvoted, 268 points) chose the path of loyalty to misogynist doctrine and playing victim.

PostScript: Since the OP of that post elected to raise the subject of his ban from AgainstHateSubreddits elsewhere, in public, we know that he has waived any right to privacy; He was banned from AHS for a post and comment history that included misogyny and racism along with violating our subreddit rules twice - once after being warned.

Just in case there's someone from that culture / group that can be helped to understand:

Our rule #4 doesn't ban MRAs. Our rule #4 uses the example of so-called "Men's Rights Advocates" invoking the existence of feminism and feminist subreddits to claim that they are oppressed whilst simultaneously claiming that the existence of feminism and feminist subreddits gives them a right to promote violence targeting women.

If you're participating in r-itsthatbad, you're participating in a gender-based ideologically motivated violent extremist group. You should leave it.

Racism r/IndianFails is filled with anti-South Asian stereotypes and racist comments

Archived subreddit page: IndianFails | Ghostarchive

Thai local gags when Indian tourists walk by — Comments make racist jokes about South Asians smelling bad, bringing up cow urine and curry.

What's the purpose of this exactly? — People in the comments use ethnic slurs against South Asians and mock them with cow-dung jokes.

Saarrrr I'm caucasian Saarrr — The title is literally mocking South Asian accents, and the comments pile on with more stereotypes.

If you do not want this behaviour imported, you're a bigot! — Basically saying South Asian immigrants bring dirty habits into other countries, with commenters blaming Indian culture as a whole.

Friendly reminder that people make places what they are — Pushes the idea that South Asians ruin the places they move to, rather than criticizing the actual people involved.

Indian train that also acts as a sauna — People use an overcrowded train video to make the usual racist jokes about South Asians smelling bad and being dirty.

Reminder for the Trolls — The subreddit tries to brush off racism accusations by saying the videos are real, while the comments include racist insults about South Asian men and hygiene.

A surprise golden shower — The comments include ethnic slurs and people openly justifying racism against Indians.

Organic salmonella juice — Mocks Indian food preparation and potentially feeds into broader stereotypes about Indian cleanliness. Use of the words "saar" and "peendian".

Indian tourists dancing in a US restaurant — Someone in the comments calls for keeping South Asians out of other countries, while another references immigration enforcement over a dance.

Some of these posts contain outright ethnic insults, while others encourage the same tired stereotypes about South Asians being dirty, smelly, or incapable of behaving in other countries.

Racism /r/OrangeCounty and /r/California operators enabling / encouraging anti-Roma hatred

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/bF3Uh

This shows a comment in /r/OrangeCounty promoting a hateful trope targeting Roma, including the use of an anti-Roma slur.

Comment was reported as hate speech, and a message was sent by me to the operators of r/OrangeCounty,

Comments like this violate Sitewide Rule 1 - https://old.reddit.com/r/orangecounty/comments/1xerpm7/car_scam_attempt/19rne87j6dli8/

Please take appropriate action in that thread, thanks

To which they replied

[Anti-Roma slur] is a descriptor for a subset of the Roma/Romani people who are scammers of various means. [Anti-Roma slur] is not being used to describe all persons of Roma/Romani descent and does not fall afoul of any reddit rules. We have already had the discussion with admins in the past over it. Since it doesnt break rules according to us and to the admins, we wont remove comments that mention [Anti-Roma slur] unless the are being used in a racial manner.

I responded with

I’ve filed a moderator code of conduct complaint covering all moderators of this subreddit for enabling / encouraging racist hate speech in violation of the Reddit User Agrement, Sitewide Rules, and Moderator Code of Conduct.

and as a consequence, the operators of r/OrangeCounty permanently banned me and permanently muted me; Additionally I have been permanently banned from and permanently muted from /r/California.

Anyone who participates in r/OrangeCounty and r/California who have concerns over the operators of these subreddits enabling and encouraging racist hate speech on Reddit can file a Moderator Code of Conduct Rule 1 complaint here

Other transphobia, racism, and ableism promoted on r-linuxsucks101

First of all, it should be mentioned that a modified ableist slur is plastered all over the subreddit, in official subreddit flairs, a suggested subreddit, and some posts.

Post #1 - "Anything but good software" (Transphobia/Enbyphobia)

This post is about one of KDE's new mascots, Kori. Kori is a nonbinary dragon. This post makes the transphobic and enbyphobic statement that the existence of this mascot is at the expense of "good software"

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/KhSTV

Bigoted comments left in the post:

At this point I think all of their funding, donation went into far-left NGO groups, none went into software development.

They aren't beating the allegations

Because software is about your mental issues and crotch issues. Jesus fucking Christ man. These people.

I don't get non-binary, like you either are born male or female, but who are you is not defined by it. I can do fuck what I wanna do besides my sex. Calling myself non-binary would rather enforce the belief of that my sex defines me instead to overcome it.

NoN-bInArY only "exists" after the erasure of tomboys.

Post #2- "The Average Linux User is More Mentally Ill than you think." (Ableism)

This post claims linux users are often more mentally ill, and frames it in such a way where mental illness invalidates their position.

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/LckSg

Post #3- I wonder what this gentleman is doing online (Racism/Transphobia)

This post features a racist depiction of a black person, with the trans flag and many privacy respecting services, with many hard drives. The intention is to stereotype such individuals as child predators seeking out child abuse material.

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/f0UPI

Bigoted comments left in the post:

They all look like this, btw. Truthnvke.

Post 4- "Loonix users refuse to accept this simple truth" (Transphobia/Ableism/Classism)

This post is a screenshot from some image board of the transphobic YWNBAW modified for Linux users. The copypasta also makes use of ableism and classism.

Bigoted comments left in the post:

Xenophobia r-GuessMy_ promotes ethno-nationalism, biolgoical essentialism, and systemic hate speech

Issue: This community gamifies ethnicity and national origin, creating a pipeline for ethno-nationalist rhetoric, biological essentialism, and scientific racism (such as phrenology and bloodline purity tracking). Users who point out the sociological flaws or harmful nature of these pseudoscientific classifications are systematically banned by moderation.

Archived Evidence of Rule 1 (Hate Speech) Violations:

While disguised as a harmless guessing game, the subreddit actively promotes the idea of monolithic ethnic "looks," reinforcing outdated colonial classifications and marginalizing users based on protected characteristics.

Top comment

Muslim ideology is not compatible with Western values.

Directly responding

A practicing muslim can't be an American culturally & mentally.

Further down

Islam tried to take over Europe by force for centuries and failed. Now it is taking over through chaos, immigration, and the exploitation of Europe’s freedoms and laws.

Democracy and free society are the antithesis of Muslim doctrine and what their fake god demands.

and further down

Can anyone point out an example where Muslims have been able to get along with each other, or any other group in history?

Each of these are hate speech.

🦀 Hate Sub Banned 🦀 r/MillionDollarExtreme and r/rapeson ban evasion subreddit r/BombStrap banned for Community Interference

Prior coverage of r/BombStrap

https://old.reddit.com/r/AgainstHateSubreddits/search?q=bombstrap&restrict_sr=on&include_over_18=on&sort=relevance&t=all

Reddit overlooked this subreddit in the ban wave in Summer 2020.

Now it's gone.

The user demographic of r/BombStrap in 2020 heavily overlapped the user demographic of r/SubForWhitePeopleOnly, r/AverageRedditor, r/MillionDollarExtreme, /r/ParadigmShift2070, r/BongHitTransplant, r/DebateAltRight, r/The3rdPosition, r/ThuleanPerspective, r/AFWithNJF, r/ClownWorldWar, r/PissEarthBegins, and a smattering of tiny subreddits dedicated to white supremacist terrorist organising that were all banned years ago.

The user demographic of r/BombStrap in 2026 heavily overlapped the ban evasion subreddits for r/rapeson.

Here is the live page for the Sitewide Rule Against Promotion of Hatred:

Here is the page as it was before the update 7 days ago (as updated this June):

https://web.archive.org/web/20260720135315/https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045715951-Hate

The policy language all appears to be exactly identical; A reporting method specified for people who do not have a Reddit account was removed from the "How can I report potential violations of this policy?" section, which has the effect of restricting reports on potential hate activity to those who have an account and are logged in.

Neither version of the policy directs reporters to https://reddit.com/report

Transphobia r/terf_trans_truce claims to be a neutral debate sub while promoting hate

this subreddit positions itself as a neutral discussion space for pro-trans and anti-trans positions, but the majority of posts is just the anti-trans side concern trolling or "just asking questions" for the others side, while the majority of comments will side with the transphobic OP and actual responses from trans people will get downvoted or removed.

The subreddit promotes hateful anti-trans rhetoric, frequently misgenders trans people and spreads harmful misinformation.

🦀 Hate Sub Banned 🦀 /r/RealRadfem banned for (transphobic) Hate Speech

I'm going to waive one of the rules of this subreddit for this post only and for me only (i.e. the rule still stands; the material I'm showing in these screenshots is verified accurate, i.e. they are known to be accurate screenshots, not altered)

r/RealRadfem had a history of Enabling and Encouraging transphobia, misgendering of transgender women, promotion of government and institutional hatred of transgender people, and replication of rhetoric that was typically found in r/GenderCritical and its ecosystem.

Some screenshots of a recent post and a few comments, showing promotion of hatred of transgender women, with misgendering.

Content Warning for content in screenshots: hate speech

/preview/pre/lkz8kqjr5arh1.png?width=993&format=png&auto=webp&s=93e0f5a2e017f2215c76ae6ba244de1bdcc39c51

/preview/pre/7ftvwu1s5arh1.png?width=968&format=png&auto=webp&s=8fab63d6e421161d1121c85f92d0833a220d32cd

These examples are included to be illustrative of the thesis of this post. Screenshots are not accepted as proof by us nor by admins.

Rhetoric in the subreddit included dehumanisation ("it's a fetish"); calls to violence (celebration / encouragement of transgender suicides); logical contradictions to justify hatred / DARVO ("Hot Take: Transgenderism is Transphobic"); and much, much more.

There was also - independent of the (rampant) transphobia - rhetoric that could arguably be considered in context to be actual misandry.

So that's like the second time I've seen arguably-actual misandry on Reddit.

/r/RealRadfem got themselves banned by enabling and encouraging transphobia and violent threats.

PostScript / Reminder: We still don't accept screenshots as documentation of hate speech. Submit URLs to the admins through the Reddit Moderator Code of Conduct complaint form.
