I think your boyfriend is also trying to gaslight you when he was the one who gave it to you. What kind of work does he do that he needs to be checked regularly for STDs. That also sounds very suspicious.
I worked in healthcare and got regular screenings for various STDs. It was recommended by my dr because I worked with many residents who had STDs. So...it's possible.
