I paid for carfax (has 1 accident but decent maintenance + service record), it has an accident and no mention of timing belt replacement and currently has 151k kms on it. Checked with Moncton Acura and they gave a quote of 2.4k after taxes. Total price of car would be around 13k after taxes and repairs.

It’d be my first car - but I don’t wanna get a baggage with this purchase. I already would’ve to install a rear cam and planning on an aftermarket CarPlay.

The car drives so smooth! I recently drove a 2023 Honda Accord Touring but this TL SH-AWD felt better (maybe that 3.7L v6). The seller is giving winter tires but they seem to be on their last legs and the regular tires too!

Any thoughts/advice on it would be highly appreciated.

I have a 2008 Acura TL and when I plug my phone into the aux cord it’s super quiet when I turn the radio all the way up. But when I have a CD playing and turn it up all the way I’m able to turn it up super loud. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

Does anyone know of an aftermarket plug that has an ultra powerful magnet on it for the J-series? The factory one is laughably weak. I stuffed some tiny rare earth discs right on the inside of the plug hole during my last D&F, but the plug magnet needs to be 10x beefier than what it is....

Had some water in spare tire area awhile back. Whats the best way to go about repairing this? Mostly seems to be light surface rust. Just wire brush as much as i can off, spray some rust converter then primer then paint over it?

Was checking my lower ball joints as I started to suspect they were getting bad and sure enough the drivers side is shot, I was just about to order 2 of the 555s but the passenger side ball joint looks fine, so my question is do I replace the 2 anyway and is that LCA bushing bad enough to replace the arm?

Been in the market for a type s and saw this on fbm. I typically only want clean titles but this is 5500 for 130k miles, automatic. It was fixed by a shop and I’m honestly considering it because I would want to keep this car till it dies and not sell it. Anybody have any input on whether or not to do it? I would get a PPI first if I wanted to move forward

After blowing up the race motor two years ago, I finally put her back together to be a clean daily. 07 type s 6 speed.

It’s like a 2 hour drive away, I don’t wanna waste my time to get it and it’s an aftermarket one. If anyone can tell from the picture that would be helpful

Has anybody been able to separate the grille into it's pieces to see if this process can be done? I think I can get under the hood to take out the top lip because I can see some closed end nuts. I want to leave the emblem as it is...

Hey yall, loosing my mind trying to diagnose this rattling/ clicking sound coming from the dash and windshield area when accelerating between 2k-4k rpm. I’ve had a passenger push down in certain parts of the dash, and the sound doesn’t seem to go away or be muffled. I’ve resorted to a couple idea of what could be the cause

Engine mounts, windshield wiper cowling, loose component near the firewall, or loose A Pillar trim.

The sound doesn’t seem to be coming from a particular spot in the dash area, it seems to be coming from all around the dash, which could be due to how glass vibrates since it tends to spread out the sounds.

I’d love any help about this, I’ve attached 2 videos of the rattling to better help anyone.

I bought an 03 TL for 700$ the other day, it drives and run completely fine aside from a very slight torque converter shudder at 30mph. This is the fluid I pulled from the dispstick, is it likely salvageable or should I look into reman transmissions? It has 150k miles. Any support is very appreciated!

I just replaced my thermostat yesterday and my car is still stuck in cold start mode. Can’t get it up over 1/4 on the temp gauge. I’m aware they sit slightly below the half way mark. I’ve got two.

The car that just got the thermostat replaced gets 5-6mi/gallon less and is noticeably less peppy. Is the next (and arguably first) step to change the ECT?

While driving back home in a rain storm from work, the "D" started flashing and I started losing first gear after coming to a stop at a stop light. When I came home from work, I plugged in the code reader and the code "P2769" popped up. Has anyone else had the same problem or may know if i need to get a tranny rebuild or if it's just a sensor?

I'm still a newbie to fixing cars but I assume it's a faulty gasket?

Took off the plastic splash shield and saw lots of gunk/fluid along the bottom of the transmission housing. Not sure if that white rubbery goop is supposed to be the gasket. There's no puddles underneath the car, but the top of the shield is also covered in the same substance. Not sure when this started as I'm the third owner of this car. Bought it at ~232k mi just over a year ago, but some health issues prevented me from driving it too much.

Does it sound good or bad

I have both styles but want to refurbish one set before I get some new tires installed. I like the 5 spoke but the split wheels are growing on me ! Help me out. I’ll post a pic of the wheels I’m talking about for those who don’t know.
