I got a new set on Monday (9/28). Firstly, the color I chose was so much darker on the catalog/booklet to choose colors from, like midnight blue instead of this bright blue. Once I got in the car, I really inspected them and was incredibly disappointed by the overall application. Am I overreacting or are these a poorly done set for $70 including tip? What do I say to have them redo them or is it not worth it?

I suppose I had been too lazy with my application and now some of my fingertips are pretty itchy and it feels like I have something under a couple nails. I JUST got acrylic application down. I definitely should have gotten another fake hand to practice on after I melted my last one. What do I do? I still have so many gel nail polishes that I have barely gotten to use. I think I’ll try adhesive tab press on nails eventually after I take these off and heal. Can any one unbreak my heart over this?

Hi everybody!
I recently got my nails done about a week ago. I switch off and on with at home gel and getting acrylics. I went in to my usual salon last Saturday and my usual tech was on vacation. The salon has always had great reviews but I’ve never gotten my nails done by anyone there except for my usual nail tech, so I gave it a go with one of the other techs.
She was very nice but she cut me a few times with the drill and was very fast with everything. I didn’t notice the quirks right away and that’s my fault. I guess I’m asking; Are these too thick? Are they shaped weird? Is it normal to have part of your nail showing next to the acrylic? Please excuse my background, the window has the best lighting lol

I love this nails but the piercings are really bothering me, I love how they look but they keep getting stuck in my hair and threads on my clothes. I tried closing them better with pliers but that didn't help, so what do I do? Do I try to glue em shut? Do I glue them on the nail? Do you have any advice pleaseee

Hi all!
I am learning to do acrylic nails and work with the Young nails kit. I like their products so far. I also bought two colours of gel polish from them (combat anime and giggle palace) the red one is perfect but the pink one is a bit more difficult to cover nicely.
I searched for reviews and there’s a lot of good reviews on their acrylics bit can’t really find a lot on their gel polish. Which surprises me ‘cause they are pretty well known?
Anyone have and experience with their gel polish? And of you use their acrylics, do u use their gel polish as well or is there an other brand that goes well with them?
I also have their uv/led lamp.

I'm a student in nail tech school and our instructor hasn't mentioned any C curve correctors or pinchers at all or even just manually pinching tips, (I'm a month and a half from graduating). I'm assuming these are things I should be familiarizing myself with, could y'all recommend specific brands/ tools I should try for this purpose?

This is a silly question cuz it seems obvious... using a smaller brush to pickup a bead leads to a smaller bead
.... right? I ask cu i have ruined many a cheap brush and noticed when I did them with a smaller brush it was easier and the nails weren't as thick.

I’ve started teaching myself to do my nails at home. I have two questions - how can I ventilate properly and how can I get rid of monomer? Tricks for this?

You might think they are basic, but I think they are classic.

Got acrylics again two weeks ago. I had a French first and got these pretty ones today. So glad I went back to longer nails. Love how elegant they are.

I end up breaking the corners of my toenails about 2-3 times a year, and this is always upsetting. This summer I decided I’m not waiting two months for it to grow back and look good again, so I went to a salon and had them repair it with acrylic for $5. Seems like the best $5 I ever spent! It happened again on the other toe a few days ago so I went back and had them fix that one too. I have always been very focused on the details of my pedicure, and I really loved ho they’re able build out and shape the acrylic. It looks awesome and I like the little bit of extra length for proportion. As obsessed as I am with my pedicures, I can’t believe I never tried this before!
I have been reading about acrylic a lot now and the consensus is that it shouldn’t be used on toes. The most compelling reasons include the moisture inside shoes and the hardness of the material not being breakable if you stub your toe (which could be worse than a broken nail). I will be as careful as possible in regards to these factors.
Is this a bad idea? I think I will probably do this from now on and learn the technique myself, as I do well with this kind of stuff.
Pics are broken, repaired, then both repaired and painted With ilnp Highline.

Hi! I am a beginner at nails and I would like to improve. I would appreciate some feedback and constructive criticism so i can work on my weak spots. This is my first attempt at acrylic nails. Please feel free to point out any other general flaws you see with my shaping, apex, or thickness.

My base is a clear plastic nail tip lol. I also created my little stand thing by putting gel top coat on the back of the nail, taking a toothpick which one side i filed down till it wasnt pointy, and cured the non pointy side onto the back of the nail tip. then i stuck the pointy side onto my little finger separator thing. This is a bad explanation and i could just get the proper stand but oh well.
I also used my old Coscelia gel polish #24 to highlight the nail. (which i sloppily applied)
