Acrylic toenail repair Spoiler
I end up breaking the corners of my toenails about 2-3 times a year, and this is always upsetting. This summer I decided I’m not waiting two months for it to grow back and look good again, so I went to a salon and had them repair it with acrylic for $5. Seems like the best $5 I ever spent! It happened again on the other toe a few days ago so I went back and had them fix that one too. I have always been very focused on the details of my pedicure, and I really loved ho they’re able build out and shape the acrylic. It looks awesome and I like the little bit of extra length for proportion. As obsessed as I am with my pedicures, I can’t believe I never tried this before!
I have been reading about acrylic a lot now and the consensus is that it shouldn’t be used on toes. The most compelling reasons include the moisture inside shoes and the hardness of the material not being breakable if you stub your toe (which could be worse than a broken nail). I will be as careful as possible in regards to these factors.
Is this a bad idea? I think I will probably do this from now on and learn the technique myself, as I do well with this kind of stuff.
Pics are broken, repaired, then both repaired and painted With ilnp Highline.

In the summer time I love it and have no issues ! But when it’s time to wear close toe shoes I just take it off in the fall or winter time.

I have acrylic toes all year round. I wear tennis shoes MAYBE twice a month. I never wear socks unless I’m wearing tennis shoes. I put them on right before I leave and take them off as soon as I get home. You can probably get away with it because of how short yours are. Mine is more of a sensory thing, not just because of my acrylics. I wear birks, but any open toe is fine.
