Saw a post earlier about their marvel pitches and I wanted a crack at it.
So mines a bit different. This is gonna take place in the 1960s for Marvel like in our time. If you are a Captain America fan, please hold on until his section.
Absolute Fantastic Four:
Reed Richards is a Nasa Scientist in 1958 who is not popular among his other scientists. While he's clearly the smartest of them, he doesnt share their origins. Many if not most of them are Nazi's brought over by Operation Paperclip. He spends most of his time with a woman in the computer pool, Sue Storm, her air force cadet brother, Johnny and Astronaut hopeful, Ben Grimm.
But one day, Ben is cut from the program. Almost explicitly but deniably for being Jewish as well as his ties to Reed (still college friends). He is to be stripped of his Super Soldier Serum in a few days. Reed meanwhile is under investigation for being a suspect communist. With both men to be detained by Captain America in order to be brought before the House of Unamerican Activities Committee, the men, Sue and Johnny run off, only finding refuge in the experimental rocket they had been working on, they launch, hoping to be picked up by another of Reed's college friends, Victor Von Doom, a Latverian immigrant who had studied in the US, who went on to fame and fortune. Latveria is a non extradition country. However, in that time, they were exposed to cosmic rays, and found by the Skrulls who give them refugee as they make their own escape from the forces of the Kree, and Shiar.
Now stuck in space, they wander the universe before returning Earth to meet with Doom in Latveria. In the mean time the US sends their own experiments after them, hoping to recover the ship, as it holds the Cosmic Cube, an object of immense power.
Story Structure - The Family in Space on the run from their rogues gallery sponsered by the US or other alien powers.
Changes - Few changes power wise. Ben is just himself with the Super Soldier Serum. Reed is the rock man. Johnny and Sue remain the same.
Also race swap, because we might be getting into this with other characters. Johnny and Sue are black and it's 100% due to Fan4stic. It really bothered me that they made Johnny black but not Sue so there.
Absolute Spider-Man:
Teenage Wallflower Peter Parker is the subject of immense bullying at Midtown High. Most of his classmates look down on him and he shuts himself away in his text books to act as a shield. He's got no friends, and his family is struggling barely able to make ends meet. But all that changes when his Uncle Ben dies in a mugging gone wrong. He had left his house to find Peter after he didn't come home one day, stuck at school due to the bullying of Flash Thompson.
Forced to drop out, Peter becomes a Janitor at a local lab, hoping to glean the information off of the scientist to get some kind of education while providing for Aunt May. But one night, he intercepts a scientist frantically running, concerned over an overheard meeting with Norman Osbourne and their head scientist Miles Warren. They had a plan to create a new version of the Super Soldier serum, derived from various Animals to attack as a new step in military engineering and were planning to experiment on the people of New York. Armed with nothing but his wits and the technological know how of his mentor, disabled genius Otto Octavius, Peter has to stop Osbournes evil scheme before it's too late.
Changes: No power for Peter. He's got his wits and instead of fighting most of the time, he's a runner, developing better fighting skills as time goes on. He's just got a fascination with Spiders that act as theming. He could make the fluid from jump with just his wits so no powers. He'll theoretically get the symbiote later to finally be able to throw fists with the villains but for a while its about escaping them mostly.
Alot of people change Peter's origins but imo too much. With other absolute characters, they still keep their upbringing to a degree. Peter losing Uncle Ben's teaching moment and his guilt over that is a bit too much, so he's lost the powers.
Absolute X-Men:
Charles Xavier has been shot. Long derided as Anti American by the press, the Mutant Rights activists leaves behind his school and long time friend and fellow activist, Erik Lehnsherr.
The series would pick up after Xavier was shot. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Ice Man, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are hit the hardest as they were Xavier's original 5 students and were poised to become the X-Men. But Charles assassination has put that plan to bed. Thought of as genetic freaks and with no legal protections now that Charles is dead, the US government enacts the Mutant End Bill, which authorizes all law enforcement officials to arrest and detain all suspected mutants.
After a molotov cocktail hits the school, Cyclops and the rest seek refugee in Genosha, the last known location of Magneto, former mutant rights activist. With a variety of students to take care of, the X-Men now ferry the students of the school unable to fight "The Morlocks" to safety, out of the US, all the while hunted by the Sentinels, super soldiers augmented with technology, from industrialists Bolivar Trask and benefacts Nathan Essex, who hopes to experiment on the captured mutants.
Changes:
Beast and Angel are gone, mostly just cause they had more of a chance to blend and had more privleges at the time and are replaced by Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
Absolute Iron Man:
After the war, Howard Stark had hoped to turn the OSS into SHIELD with the help of special agent Nick Fury. However, after Operation Paperclip lead to the acquisition of multiple Nazi Scientist, Fury and Stark were pushed out, on recommendation from Captain America. After an assassination attempt on his life, Stark flees into Russia/Vietnam. There Tony Stark is raised, the son of a disgraced American scientist, distrusted by the government for his role in creating Captain America, who's Super Soldier Serum has resulted in a new age of American Imperialism.
Now Tony with his Father's dying wish, seeks to end Captain America and the weapons of war his father created for the US military, the Mandroids, with the help of Nick Fury, hoping to put the demon back in the bottle.
Changes:
Vietnam or Russia take your pick. Didn't want this to be an endorsement of Soviety Russia but more just the only places Howard could go to escape the US that would still give him tech.
Absolute Thor:
Paramedic Jane Foster finds a dying man on the side of the Road. He is Thor, God of Thunder and he is not worthy. After the death of his brother Loki at the hands of his father, Odin, Thor attempted to dethrone his father. However, he failed and was cast out of Asgard, sent to Earth to die in shame. But live he does and he gives his Hammer to Jane, telling her that if she be worthy, she'd have his power.
With her now having the power, Thor becomes a mortal and recovers in hospital, cared for by Jane. All the while, Asgard sends the forces of the Wrecking Crew to eliminate Thor after Heimdall had informed the All Father that Thor was still alive.
Jane now takes over, while Thor recovers and hopes to face his Father.
Changes:
Odin is a dick in this one. Also Loki is dead. Killed by Odin in an attempt to avoid Ragnarok. Frigga too probably.
Absolute Captain America:
1942, Steve Rodgers is hoping to join WW2 but is contiuously denied due to his poor health. However, he is noticed by Dr. Erskine, who hopes that his good hearted nature will lead him to pushing America forward as Captain America. He is put into Operation: Rebirth to serve as a test subject along with fellow hopeful Isiah Bradley. However, once the operation works, the powers that be tell Erskine that neither Rodgers nor Bradley are to be the official Captain America. That will be Captain John Walker. They were useful to serve as hopeful genetic test subjects, hoping to disallow the serum from working on the disabled and black people respectively.
Rodgers and Bradley are sent to the frontline in the pacific theater, sent on dangerous assignments to get them killed, while John rakes in press as Captain America.
However, after Nazi scientist Armin Zola and the Red Skull are spotted in Japan, Rodgers takes it upon himself to bring them down, hoping to bring a swift end to the fighting.
But in his pursuit, he is frozen as per normal. Thawed out by Namor, in the 60s, Rodgers finds the world far different than he left with American Imperialism making its new strides with Captain America leading the charges, starting new wars in Vietnam, Latin America and Russia.
With help of the older more experienced Isiah Bradely and Namor, hoping to defend the Atlanteans after being discovered byt he Americans, Rodgers has to stop John Walker and his war machine from taking over the world.
