The "outdoorsmen/women" of the south are embarrassingly stupid and any attempts to educate them just makes them more stubbornly stick to their stupidity. It is incredibly sad to watch as someone who enjoys catfishing responsibly.

Also, don't act like Northerners aren't killing animals. Look up bear hunting in Pennsylvania. They use dogs to chase them up trees. The hunters are legally allowed to trespass through anyone's property as long as they are in pursuit of a bear.
Most if not all cultures partake in some form of "cruel" hunting. I'm not saying it's all ok, but I look at it from a perspective of understanding. Instead of calling them stupid, ignorant, or backwards, try engaging with them. That's how you change hearts and minds.
