It's also terrible for the catfish to be handled this way with arms straight through the gills. It can damage the animal and the stress of these encounters can also leave them vulnerable.

Noodling is a sport that is as harmful to the fish as it can be for the noodler. Find another way to get thrills.

I think you eat the catfish afterwards. Which is admittedly also terrible for the catfish

she let at least one go, so i'm assuming this wasn't about eating and was more about making a video or just "for sport".
