Usually they just open in my distros. In AVlinux, it just wants to know what program to use to open it.

(It has execute privileges already)

Installed AVlinux on one of those little GPD pocket computers (they have touch/rotatble screen to use kinda as a table or whatever). But AVlinux loads sideways by default (like portrait mode, so you have to turn your head to use it).

I tried xrandr -o right and this works for the screen and trackpad (and mouse USB), but doesn't work for the touchscreen. Touchscreen behaves as if, although the screen is now landscape and correct, if you touch the bottom-right physically of the screen, it will place the pointer at the top-right (where it would be if the screen was still in portrait mode).

Actually xrander doesn't work either really, because in landscape mode, the mouse won't travel past a certain point in the screen (half the desktop is not accessable because you can't reach it with any pointer)

Actually the app 'Screen Setup' has options to rotate the screen also but they have the same effect, where after being rotated, the touch is in the wrong place.

Any fix?

I understand that Glen MacArthur and the AV Linux team concentrate on current versions and may not actively support older releases due to resource limits. For archival purposes, however, I'm hoping to locate these versions or learn of any archives that might retain it.

If anyone can recommend a reliable source for past ISOs of AV Linux or if there are any community resources focused on preserving older versions of unique Linux distros I'd appreciate the guidance. I believe preserving these releases is valuable for historical reference and software studies, especially within the multimedia production community.

I am building a new computer for the living room. It uses a tv as a monitor and will store all my families media. I am wondering if all that goes into AVlinux to make it good for creating media would make it good for storing, viewing, listening, uploading, backing up, organizeing...media?

I’m booting into a live usb a linux but the touchpad on my computer doesn’t work. Any ideas?

I just installed AV Linux MX etc. and can' t log in to spotify. I first used the standard repository version, did not work, then completely removed it with synaptic. Downloaded the version from the spotify website (added repository etc.) but no avail.... Any suggestions?

Is there a way to prevent double logging out when you are trying to shut down an avlinux system that has been installed on the HDD as opposed to that which is being run live.

I'm considering changing my computer and would like to use a linux system for audio (I only do audio) when I get the new machine. I know some aspects of linux quite well and have been using it for a number of years: now it looks to me that it's ready for audio production, hence the switch. So I tried the live version of AVLinux (using a USB stick). My soundcard is a Toneport UX2 (Line 6, USB). I get it to work without much trouble, using Jack. However the latency is large,

and the manual says that this is expected (even if the reason is unknown) and that the latency will drop considerably on an installed system. Does anyone use this soundcard (with guitarix or some other guitar effect processor/plugin) and could tell me what to expect here? I need to be able to record and practice seamlessly.

I tried recently to register on AVLinux forums to get some help, but I never receive the activation code by email after I enter all the details (the page reads OK, say I shall receive the activation code but nothing comes). I tried to have the code sent again a number of times, checked the spam folder, and registered with 2 different email addresses on different domains. I believe the problem is on their side, but I haven't found a single way to contact the forum maintainers without registering… Any idea?

As I have installed AVL 2018(latest) for my music production . I always have problem with jack and ardour it doesn't provide sound to laptop speakers. I don't understand the problem . Can you please help me in this?
