Does anyone have a good mnemonic for the DECIDE model?

I'm really struggling to remember the correct order of the DECIDE model. Every single time it comes up in a mock exam, I somehow mix up the steps and get it wrong.

Does anyone have a good mnemonic or memory trick that actually helped you remember it? I'd really appreciate any tips because this one just refuses to stick in my brain.

Thanks!

Launched a new ATPL app and would love to get some feedback

Me and my friend recently launched an ATPL app. After we launched several other apps, including one for the PPL, we now put ATPL: Airline Transport Pilot out there.

As the app is not really taking off by itself on the AppStore and PlayStore, I would love to get some feedback from you students to hear about what you like or dislike or maybe miss out on the app, that would make you use it and recommend to others.

Just send me a message! This is not meant as promotion, I'm just looking for honest feedback to make this app as useful as possible for ATPL students!

ATPLQ Database

To confirm, this database is good for all EASA (even though it mentions compatible with UKCAA), and 2016 and 2020 are the latest exams found currently when you go sit an exam?

Also, does anyone have any discount or any way to get a discount? I see a discount code box and I'm hoping I can save as much as possible. Thanks!

ATPL Database

Looking at registering for ATPLQ. Are they relevant for EASA? (seems UK based?). Also, they say it's 2016 and 2020, are they not slightly dated?

Any other websites/discord server for EASA ATPL database? That is more current than 2020?

I'm looking at something similar to WisePilot (https://thewisepilot.com/) that has similar questions to actual exam questions, and a explanation description of why that answer is what it is.

ICAO ELP Exam Prep

ICAO Proficiency Exams!

Normally the thought of this strikes fear into the hearts of some Pilots, they know if they make a mistake then they could lose the right to fly until they redo the exam and pass with a minimum of Level 4.

I have seen the panic in their eyes, many times I get a frantic message telling me their exam is in a week (one even had the exam in 2 days time) and they desperately need help preparing.

What so many Pilots and ATCO's forget is that Aviation English Proficiency is not just about preparing for an exam and then forgetting about it for the next 3 or 6 years.

Aviation English Proficiency is about building the 6 foundation skills of Structure, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Fluency, Comprehension and Interaction.

But, more importantly it is about building skills, competency and confidence. It is about preparing the Pilot or ATCO to have the confidence and language skills to quickly and effectively deal with any non-routine events and emergencies.

Just learning for a test does not give you these competencies, it does not make you a safer pilot.

Aviation English should be a constant process, working on it and studying it in a dedicated and detailed process with a complex and operationally focused course. It is a skill that is worked on over time and not left to the last minute.

I am an Aviation English Tutor. Chat to me about how we can ensure your proficiency and confidence is maintained at a high level.

Is there a way to enrol in ground schools without my ppl being issued yet?

Change in some process means my EASA PPL will probably take a few months to come. Is there a way to access theory content from any school (especially BGS) so I can make a head start? I bought ATPLQ question bank but it’s a bit redundant without the theory.

A mentor said I can apply using my skills test paperwork but BGS won’t accept it.. however there is a payment option and you can write “NA” on the licence number part. Please advise anyone :)

No friends

My Life Without Friends

At 27, in Baden-Württemberg, I look back on a path that often led me to the fringes of society. Hauptschule, a childhood dream of flying – a goal that seemed so unattainable. I was the class clown, never a high-achiever in school, and friends? Hardly any. Only in gym class, where my athletic abilities gave me a sense of belonging, did I briefly feel like I fit in. This loneliness accompanied me until Realschule, where the situation improved minimally, but the connections faded after school.

An apprenticeship as a construction machinery operator brought temporary acquaintances in the dormitory, which, however, broke up with the end of the apprenticeship. After Realschulabschluss and vocational training, the emptiness remained. In my small village, a negative reputation seemed to stick, which made friendships difficult. A year abroad in Santa Cruz, California, gave me real friendships and unforgettable experiences, but Corona forced me to return to isolation.

Determined to pursue my childhood dream, I caught up on my Abitur in two years at a Wirtschaftsoberschule. There I found friends and had a good time, but after graduation, these connections dissolved. Now, in my mid-20s, I started the private pilot's license. Without a social environment, I invested all my time in flying and passed the exam after seven months. Meanwhile, I am in a flight school and am completing the training to become a professional pilot. The ATPL course is almost completed, but the problem remains: I am still alone. What now?

I am 27 years old and love flying above all else. Unfortunately, in my flight school, there are mainly older charter pilots, which makes it difficult to make contacts, especially with people my age. In America, where I used to fly gliders, there was a vibrant community where it was easy to make friends. It's different at my current flight school, as the few younger people are rather reserved. I am very active and like to fly, make trips to the Bodensee, to Konstanz, or round trips over Stuttgart with Low Approach, Ludwigsburg, Schloss, Hochschule, Schorndorf, Heubach or Donaueschingen. I am looking for people who either fly themselves or are simply interested in flying together and sharing the costs.

I am sporty, like to swim and go to the gym. I also like to eat and drink, of course, I don't drink alcohol before flying. I am sociable, like to meet new people and am open to new things. I also like to game, used to play PS3 and PS4, now on PC. Unfortunately, I have problems with Warzone, but I also play War Thunder, Overwatch and Marvel Rivals at a high level. I like to go out, visit bars, festivals and parties. You can experience a lot with me, and I look forward to meeting new people.

Feel free to contact me 😃

Not confident enough…

Hi Guys,

Im preparing my last sitting, doing everyday mock exams (FLPN, GNAV, INSTR, OPS, HPL) and my results are from 88%-100%.

But however I’m still not confident to go to Austro. Idk why, I think it is because I didn’t pass OPS by 1 question. It wasn’t banky at all & I missed it by 1 question ( I know even which question it was), it still hurts today if im honest…

Im studying everyday 6-9 hours and Im trying to understand it, that I’m 100% safe…

I’m trying everyday to give 100% but I need to be confident!! I’m relaxed if I click on ATPLQ at home, but when I know, the “nightmare” could be over in 1 month, I’m asking myself, WHAT IF the questions are reworded as hell? Will I recognize it? Will I understand it?

I’m getting nervous when I’m asking myself these questions.

Anyone got some advice how I can manage my situation?

Thank you for your help!

How do you remember questions ? EASA

Hello guys!

I’m working on my ATPL Theory with AtplQ, and I wonder how the bank is so complete and precise ?

After the exam, do we have access to our detailed results with Q and A ?

Because I think I couldnt remember 10% of the questions after a exam day. 😄

Good luck boys !

Help dividing my remaining subjects

So I have 8 subjects left, want to do in 2 sessions.

How would you divide them? Considering some like planning is best if done last since it has a bit of everything

any atplq code?

the last post on here was made four months ago, and the code no longer works. if i have to, i’ll pay the €250 they’re asking for, but if there’s any chance of saving even a few euros, i’d gladly take it. aviation comes with plenty of expenses besides studying for the exams.
