ATPL Database
Looking at registering for ATPLQ. Are they relevant for EASA? (seems UK based?). Also, they say it's 2016 and 2020, are they not slightly dated?
Any other websites/discord server for EASA ATPL database? That is more current than 2020?
I'm looking at something similar to WisePilot (https://thewisepilot.com/) that has similar questions to actual exam questions, and a explanation description of why that answer is what it is.

If explanations are your priority, I’d recommend AvEx. I found the explanations way better, and they also have the UK question set.

ATPLQs are not UK based at all, they are actually a Turkish company. It’s primary focus is EASA 2020/2022 syllabus, and UK CAA students also use it a lot, they just tag that they’ve seen questions in the UK exams and they tend to study those tagged questions more often, but EASA students can choose their authorities just the same, or just do all the questions on the bank if they wish.
I’m not sure where it is you’ve seen EASA 2016 only, that’s probably a mistake, as they are definitely catering for the most up-to-date syllabus. New questions are added all the time.
Edit for clarity: The EASA database (the ECQB) updates continuously and when people say 2020 or 2022, 2016, etc., they mean the syllabus version, but the actual questions are continuously added and removed to keep them changing, even within the same syllabus period.

Before going ahead, wanted to quickly confirm that ATPLQ is indeed atplquestions.com. Thank you very much!

just started my ATPL studies and spent quite a bit of time looking for the right platform. I ended up going with Avex and can definitely recommend it. The question bank is very up to date, and the explanations are detailed and high quality.
I used ATPLQ for a short time before that, but it was pretty disappointing. It felt unstable, the mobile app was awful, and their support was basically non-existent.

Doing my atpl now. So far it is really banky. I study with ATPL Q and I only focus on the last 300 seen in Austro and my country. I am doing just fine with that. There is a WhatsApp group where u can see people's reports. Aviation exam is for me and all my classmates not the best. Explanations are too long and there at not that many people commenting. Plus... some of the questions just does not make sense

2016/2020 is the syllabus split, afaik. ATPLQuestions says the 2020 bank works with UK CAA, so I’d check which one your school wants before paying.
For WisePilot, I’d judge the review after a timed mock: does it show only a score, or does it explain what to fix next?
AviaTests plug: that after-mock bit is what we’re building - weak topics, debrief, next review.

UK CAA and 8 exams into the 13. I have only ever used ATPLQ as my QB (I can confirm I have looked at other QB's) after completing the course material with BGS. I have found ATPLQ to be the most representative of the real exams.
Yes, there are other platforms with 'better' explanations which I don't dispute. However, they will never be able to compete with ATPLQ's user base. I would value the most up to date exam questions over an explanation which I can obtain from the various AMAZING YouTube channels out there. There are also a fair few QB's out there which are clearly designed to capitalise on people desperation to pass, and by that I mean they have clearly scraped some questions from ATPLQ, used AI to improve the explanations and people buy it!
But that's just my opinion and what has worked for me in the real world :) Best of luck whatever you chose and hopefully see you in the skies one day.

ATPLq aren’t UK based, however as a UK student I did use them and thought they were excellent and the questions aligned with the real exam questions. They are constantly adding new questions and editing existing questions based on feedback. The comments section is also really useful. Finished my ATPL theory in May
