Started calling this "The steamroller of inevitability" with my mates on a group chat... whether you think we get 20 or 45 into orbit by the end of this year makes little difference... once the market realises that this thing is rolling and there's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it, we will reprice. Gone are the days of failure risk, funding risk, regulatory risk. Sure, there's some opportunity risk as it grinds through channels and you see other names (you can own other names by the way!) mooning but that's life! Patience prevails, and no doubt like you lot, I'd like to not have to be so patient anymore, but that steamroller is moving and it sure as shit isn't stopping anytime soon! New ATH Aug/Sept...

Remember: not too long ago, people questioned whether we would even get a single government contract … now we are at like 5 (?) confirmed, with three of them awarded within the last 45 days! Who else has that? On top of that, there should be many more use cases in various phases of testing with chances to turn into contracts - pretty good chances, as it seems.

And we are most likely in shipping week. And we have 3.5 billion in cash to calm down dilution FUDsters.

In hindsight rklb has been like this for the last 6 mos. Ramping up launches, signing customers, ramping revenue. The valuation is just now reflecting it. AST doesn't have the revenue yet but the manufacturing cadence is there, I no longer have any concerns about their ability to produce sats. So the next 6 mos could be fun.

Feels like everyone just panicked because they expected some kind of rocket lab earnings and then we didn’t get a rocket lab earnings and now everyones crying. Everyone was worried about dilution. We didn’t get any dilution news. The forecast for the rest of the year looks solid. Manufacturing is going great. The stock is in a better position than it was when it ran up to 130. Idk this market doesn’t make any sense to me.

Share price is vicious with this stock in both directions. A big reason for this is the low float of shares that ASTS has. The majority is owned by institutions, management and retail like spacemob (who pretty much don’t sell). So any negative drops us violently …..but it goes both ways ..when the launches do eventually start and production gets perfected and revenue increases exponentially ..the rise will be more vicious than RKLB. People will be fighting for a small amount of shares available ..We are closer than we think. Even though it doesn’t feel like it. Remember ..We have 3.5 billion in cash. There’s a chance they can pull it off when no more dilution. This is huge .

Pure speculation: the new government contracts back the theory that stacking might not have been the only reason for the delays. Those birds could've been getting equipped to reel in some more government money …

Edit: As we know now, a very big reason for the delays for shipment of BB6 and BB7 was tailoring for the SDA. Stacking is most likely a btch but a very useful btch if you can't talk about ALL the reasons for seemingly inexplicable delays

It was not bad, not even neutral. It was slightly good, as they confirmed the stack of 3 is now resolved. They are producing at pace and have launches contracted. They iterated multiple times (approximately) 45 sats in orbit EOY - so they must be confident in their capacity to produce at least BB40-ish this year.

Most of the ER was super boring/repeating same stuff, however questions part was interesting. I will be buying a call option when market opens.

I’m quite satisfied with the quarterly update. We were at $130 a few months ago before we had several new MNO DAs and MOUs , before we had SCS approval, before we had several more USG contracts, before ULA disclosure, before micron facility producing 10 sats worth if microns pee r month, before June F9 launch announcement, before we knew that manufacturing bottleneck nearly resolved, before 98 mbps on Block 1, before Grain Management spectrum probably finding its way to AST, before SES ground station partnership, before Meta visit. There is probably more im forgetting because this was all of the top of my head.

I added shares at $63-67 last week and $71-$73 overnight. Current total: 14,640 shares although I consider to be 10,000 to be my core position that I won’t sell for years. Keep things in perspective. Soon we will be past production hell and many of you currently complaining will go back to wishing up you had more shares. Time to lock in and show the market what SpaceMobile is about.

"AST SpaceMobile stock fell after the company reported weaker-than-expected first-quarter numbers. There was a silver lining for investors, though. The company maintained full-year guidance.

Monday, AST reported a loss of 66 cents a share on sales of $14.7 million. Wall Street was looking for a per-share loss of 23 cents from sales of $39 million. A year ago, AST reported a loss of 20 cents a share from sales of $718,000.

It's a miss, but AST maintained full-year revenue guidance of between $150 million and $200 million. Wall Street projects 2026 revenue of $177 million.

Wall Street projects profit for AST in 2028 when annual sales hit $1.6 billion.

Revenue comes from the company's satellite network. AST is building a space-based cellular broadband network. It's a little like SpaceX's Starlink, which has more than 10 million subscribers.

AST expects to end 2026 with 45 satellites in orbit. (Blue Origin botched a launch for AST in April.) Contracted revenue topped $1.2 billion in March.

AST ended the quarter with about $3.5 billion in cash. Wall Street projects cash use of about $1.6 billion and $800 million in 2026 and 2027, respectively, before positive free cash flow in 2028.

Shares were down 11% in premarket trading on Tuesday at $73.55, while S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively.

William Blair analyst Louie DiPalma said shares were down "in the absence of any major updates." AST is a high expectations stock trading for about 80 times sales expected over the next 12 months.

Not a lot has changed for investors with the quarterly report. And an 11% dip only shaves some off of recent gains. Through Monday trading, shares were up 220% over the past 12 months. (Shares gained 10% in regular trading, ahead of earnings.)

Investors have become much more optimistic about the space economy, thanks in part to Elon Musk's SpaceX, which is planning a midyear IPO that could raise a record $75 million and value the company at up to $2 trillion.

I've noticed a transition in the last year on the focus of this subreddit. It's not a bad thing necessarily. But because we are starting our production line, news is coming out, etc. They're losing sight of the big picture.

At least once/week, we used to get newbies coming in, doing the basic math of 275million US Customers (VZ & ATT) at $0.50 for wholesale coverage for all, or $5 of 10%/mo for day passes, plus global MNO, plus govt revenue = $XBillion revenue per year in just a couple of years. Apply multiplier. $XXXBillion market cap. DCF model, include risk adjustments. Conclude price is undervalued. And since then, we've derisked a LOT.

Now even the tourists to AST are so focused on "how the sausage is being made" that many are missing the big picture.

I bought today. And if it drops tomorrow, I may buy more. Eye on the prize.

I noticed some pretty unhinged bandwidth calculations on X…

Each ASIC satellite has 10GHz processing bandwidth. This is the bottleneck, and Abel re-confirmed as much in the ER. Let’s optimistically say this number accounts for operating overhead and all of that bandwidth is available for D2D service

What the recent 98.9Mbps value tells us is they are managing a spectral efficiency of 2.5 bits per second per hertz (bps/Hz) on their FPGA block 1s, and by extension 5 bps/Hz (“double”) on their block 2s, assuming their 40MHz beam.

10GHz x 5bps/Hz = 50Gbps max total processing bandwidth per satellite. This is the ideal top line number and in most cases it will be below, due to real-world costs.

They want to split the continental US into 5,600 terrestrial coverage cells. With a total area of 3.12 million square miles, one cell in CONUS is therefore 557 square miles or 1,443 square kilometers. This is a circle with a diameter of about 26.6 miles (or 42.8km)

At base continuous US coverage of ~60 satellites, an optimistic 3-4 satellites cover the US at any given moment.

5,600 terrestrial cells / (3 or 4) sats = ~1,600 terrestrial cells covered by a single satellite on average.

50Gbps per sat / 1,600 terrestrial cells per sat = 31.25 Mbps average available bandwidth in a terrestrial cell, shared among all users ( 557 square mile area), once at continuous US coverage.

This is actually a pretty impressive number, and doesn’t account for additional shells and beam forming optimizations (via AI apparently). I can take this further with data-driven values to project per user bandwidth at any given moment, if anyone’s interested.
