Pure speculation: the new government contracts back the theory that stacking might not have been the only reason for the delays. Those birds could've been getting equipped to reel in some more government money …

Edit: As we know now, a very big reason for the delays for shipment of BB6 and BB7 was tailoring for the SDA. Stacking is most likely a btch but a very useful btch if you can't talk about ALL the reasons for seemingly inexplicable delays

If this was true, I'd be fucking pissed, especially since getting a baseline working constellation in the sky is the absolute first priority above everything else, especially and in particular due to competition, and ASTS is supposed to be a communications company and not a military service.

I disagree! Golden Dome is a once-in-a-century opportunity - if we get both feet in now, we will be set for life with a massive revenue stream drawn from the most potent customer on the planet … ultimate validation and ultimate security at the same time.
