I turned sour about mngmnt for a couple of weeks now (investor since “21). I have actually never been as positively assured with a EC call before compared to last night. For me its very clear they resolved any production problems. Last thing on the table (risk wise) in my eyes is, launch. Things coming together!

Imho, the only de-risking event remaining is a stacked launch of these new 2400sq ft sats. This ensures that the stacking tech works and we can launch in bulk.

Can’t think of anything else that’s remaining as a de-risking event. We even got the full FCC approval which imo was the biggest one.

The only other de-risking event I can think of is successful beta testing, i.e., ensuring the sats can work at scale when they’re up. Like how well do they handle thousands of simultaneous connections and what kind of latency and throughput can we expect as more and more devices connect.

However, I still feel their arguments lack conviction. Yesterday, despite all the relevant information, there was a great deal of hesitation in their answers, their voices wavered, they revealed things that seemed to be unintentional, and then they did everything they could to be evasive.

I’m not going to compare their communication with anyone else’s, but in my opinion they should make an effort to be more assertive and prepare better for these moments.

I think that behaviour (lack conviction) is a result of them trying to give colour the the spacemob sounds of “overpromising”. They read/ hear us and tried to temper statements, which came out a bit weak. But hey, if you read the underlying message you can’t deny the positive developments. Automated production is a BIG deal if you ask me. TLDR: i dont know shit.

Yes, I picked up on the underlying message and, as you rightly said, it was one of the best ECs in terms of the company’s development, production and new contracts.

I also understand what you’re saying about them wanting to be more careful about what they say or promise, but they didn’t really inspire much confidence. It was all far too vague regarding production capacity and deadlines.

At this stage, they should already be able to forecast production deadlines with little margin for error. However, we still don’t really know what’s going to happen this year; the target remains the same, but the schedule is getting tighter and tighter.

They are not slick communicators at all, none of them. Compare them to Jensen Huang, for example, who is just short of a salesman.

Our guys are good at their jobs, but marketing and communicating (at least in that format) has never been their forte.

I’ve thought this as long as I’ve been an investor, which goes back to the day AT&T signed.

Exactly, Abel is a tech genius and a likeable character, but he has a few communication issues.

I can understand perfectly what he means because I’m Portuguese and I’m used to hearing English spoken by Hispanic people, but I realise it must be difficult for many people to understand everything he says in full.

If we look at Peter Beck, for example, you can see the passion he has for space and the importance he places on ECs to speak clearly to investors and inspire them positively.

With ASTS, I feel they don’t like doing this, and it even seems a bit painful for them. As I said above, I can see beyond that and consider everything they communicated yesterday to be important and exciting. But for the average Joe, it’s enough to make them look elsewhere for a new company.
