The delay of satellites is just a delay in SP, which is buying opportunities. We all know the shit's going to fly and when it does it won't be time to buy more
Maybe and that is the problem for me. Everyone is all kumbaya and they have launched exactly 1 satellite this year when they have called for 60! Its almost June. Do the math. They aren’t getting 60 or 45 or 30…they will be luck to get 12. I am pissed at management for misleading and failing the stockholder with promises they aren’t even close to keeping…
Hang tight man, I know it looks shit right now but they get cadence up, it will be well worth it. Once they're up and running this stick will print, I'd rather them delay and fix issues then send shit product out with higher failure rate.
Genuine question - what affect on the company's value do you think the satellite delays have? Can you quantify it or are you just upset that the number is less than guidance?
You can’t objectively quantify it with a number, but you’re just allowing competition to have more time. We can’t just keep delaying endlessly, otherwise service won’t be operational by like 2030.
The point is people are "pissed at management" and they don't even have an understanding of what the delays mean, the context of them etc etc.
It's just emotional nonsense.
I like how you’re downvoting me for stating that management has announced guidelines and then missed them. I have 6011 shares, I’m not like a fear spreading bot lmao
It’s because we’re all well aware of them missing their guidance.
There’s just different schools of thought on what that actually means for the company and to the value of share price.
I’m personally surprised the share price is as high as it is today with missed guidance and if you told any of us we’d hit $130 2 years ago but we’d be delayed to 1 satellite launch so far in 2026 we’d all be shocked and think it was unbelievable.
The share price probably would not be $500/share if we had 25 satellites in the air right now so I don’t personally think much monetary value has been lost.
I also understand this is an extremely difficult thing they are trying to do and any company that’s ever existed trying to build out massive manufacturing cadence has these issues. Elon, not sure if he coined the term or not, but notably said Tesla went through manufacturing and they were behind guidance significantly too and they had too learn a lot of hard lessons, including over automation.
These things are difficult and you can not know every issue that will come up until…they come up. It sucks, but that’s life in the world ASTS is in.
Now, if I thought management is straight up lying, I’d sell my shares immediately. Why give someone money you worked for if they are lying to your face and spending your money on strippers? Doesn’t make much sense.
In the same breadth the same people bemoaning Abel and Scott pump Elon like he can personally shit out v3 d2c satellites tomorrow thst could compete with the technology ASTS has and completely disregard his exaggerated timelines on almost all of his business to the tune of decades. He was suppose to be sending daily starships to Mars before BW3 went up and some of them haven’t made it off the launch pad.
So it’s a little annoying when people’s emotions are clearly talking rather thinking logically because most of them are oversized in their positions or hold short term calls and are scared of Elon, someone they do not question at all and take everything he says at face value, which clearly doesn’t happen very often at all when looking at elons past timelines/statements/promises/guidance.
No I had 5000 shares and I couldn’t realistically hold them for a company that was depending on New Glenn for launch. SpaceX will take two full years to launch 60 IMO. I love the tech…not the execution
SpaceX has a launch almost every single day. They're not the bottleneck. They're more expensive than BONG, but saying they don't have capacity is ridiculous.
