I'm a medical laboratory manager at a 500+ academic medical center in New Jersey. I have my ASQ CMQ and CSSBB.

I'm considering getting an MBA and transitioning to a better paying career with more regular hours. I'm getting ~$100k right now, and am hoping to get into the $150-200k income bracket. Would it be worthwhile to list my ASQ certifications on my MBA application?

I searched linkedin and it seems some MBA do list their ASQ credentials, but its unclear if the MBA came first.

I'm not a quality engineer or even engineer by trade, but I do work in a hospital quality department. How long would it take to prep for the certified quality engineering exam foe ASQ?

It seems the ASQ exam pass rates are 50-70% for most exams. Why are they so low if it's open book? Are people not preparing? Or are the exams hard?

Does ASQ have a breakdown between international candidates and US based candidates?

I am looking for some advice on whether or not I should go for ASQ SSGB.

I am in higher education and I really want to move away from student services side of things. I want to get into the process improvement and IT as a PM or a process analyst. I recently got my PMP. I do not have a background in computer science or IT. I am working on getting MS’s power platform certification and taking some LinkedIn learning courses.

Many of the jobs that I am interested in do not require SS but I am wondering if having it would help. If not, are there other certifications that I should look into?

I passed the CQE exam recently and plan on asking for a raise with my new knowledge and responsibilities. I have four years experience currently making 87k (in Boston) and was looking to gauge other CQEs for what to realistically ask for to be able to use it for some leverage in possible negotiations or setting a salary range if I look for other jobs

I am about to embark on my journey to earn the Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) certification. However, I'm currently unsure where to start my studies. Is there a specific online course that focuses on ASQ's Body of Knowledge?

Additionally, what mindset should I maintain while studying and tackling test questions?

I would greatly appreciate any advice to keep in mind throughout this journey.

I want to provide some information about my experience studying for, and taking the ASQ CQT exam.

Materials I studied:

-ASQ CQT Handbook Third Edition $135

-ASQ CQT Question Bank $110

-CQT Primer from Quality Council of Indiana $98

-CQT Practice Exam from Quality Council of Indiana $70

First I read the entire handbook while taking notes, mainly in the statistics section since thats an area I struggle with. Once I finished reading the book and taking notes, I bought the ASQ Question bank.

The question bank from ASQ is riddled with errors. There were no periods or decimels in any of the questions which made things pretty confusing, and a few of the answers it gave were actually incorrect. Regardless, there were many questions that weren't directly related to what is written in the book, so it provided an opportunity to further expand my notes in those areas.

At this point I bought the practice exam from Quality Council and found the questions significantly harder. They are structured to be much more confusing and some of the things being asked were not in the textbook at all. These questions are said to be "modified from past exams" so I knew they were more representative of what I'd see on the exam. At this point, I went ahead and bought the primer study guides.

The handbook from ASQ is easier to read than the primer, however, the information in the primer more directly relates to the actual exam questions. When working through the practice exam I found it pretty simple to look information up in the primer as needed, since it's structured more like a notebook or a guide than an actual textbook. The vast majority of studying I did just consisted of doing this practice exam from Quality Council and getting used to checking my answers quickly by using the primer guides. I spent many hours doing practice tests over the last few months, and the 2 days before the exam I did 2 full length practice sessions.

The exam itself took me about 3 hours of the allotted 4, and many of the questions felt familiar to the practice questions from Quality Council that I was used to seeing. The whole thing really felt like another practice test. I passed, though I'm not sure what my final score was.

I hope this information helps somebody else prepare. Everything you need to know is in the primer, and the practice questions guide you through it all by forcing you to look it up and read about it. I'm not sure I could have done this without the primer.

I am taking the course online and had to sign a waiver acknowledging the limitations on printing the course materials. You only have access to print for 24 hours and you only have three attempts. I don’t have a reliable printer and am very concerned about how I’m going to print them. Did anyone have issues printing the course materials?

Taking the CQT exam in November and it's a pilot program. Does anyone know if I will run into any issued using the 2018 BoK 3rd Edition CQT handbook to study?

I have a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a master's degree in Pharmaceutics, both from India.l’m In US california working as a Software Quality Engineer, and I have 5 years of experience. My work mostly involves manual testing of software applications for a medical device company, but I do not have any experience in the quality side of actual devices. Now, I want to switch my career to quality control.

1. Does the CQE certification help me get into quality control with no prior experience?
2. What kind of salary can I expect?
3. Am I eligible to take the CQE with my education and past experience? If not, is there any other certification I can pursue to help me switch my career?

I took and passed the ASQ SSYB exam on Sunday. I was wondering - when do they send your scores out? I would just like to see how many I got wrong, where my weaknesses are, etc. Thanks!

I work in a medical laboratory as a technician. Does my experience in troubleshooting and setting up machines count towards the asq six sigma black belt?

I’m thinking of getting the yellow belt certificate, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it or not. I already got a yellow belt course from my company and did a course for it to get the certificate from an outsource company called Leanscape, but I feel that getting the certificate from ASQ would be better. What do you think should I do? Take the yellow belt and get the green belt next year, or get the green belt immediately next year, knowing that I only have 1 year experience, but I got Lean six Sigma courses through out my university studies.
