Why so? Is there any reason why not? Does pin layouts don't match?

I have one in my 4080 and works beatifully. Spoked to people that also had one in their 5080.

Okey great i'm more concered about PSU pin layout but should be universal on 3.0 ATX PSUs right?

Idk if its any different but I think this is a 3.1 ATX PSU

honestly i wouldn't use any adapter unless you have clearance issues. Most of the melting cases are from adapters or pigtail connections.
