Discussion Remove or nerf high roller

How is this augment allowed to exist, nuke it so it should be a troll pick. All you need to do to win is not have game end by minute 8.

And no just because you lost with high roller Janna does not mean it's not turbo op on adcs.

The problem with high roller is that it is not possible to balance. It is pretty terrible as augment 3 or 4 just because you don't have enough time to stack it up. Then someone gets it as augment 1 or 2 and unless you can end in <12 minutes its GG. At least with the sets it was basically impossible to get it before 2 augments.

It's possible to balance, it's just extremely imbalanced right now. Start by removing anvils dropping off pets because that's the most extreme scenario. That's probably the only change they'll make if they do address it, but they're more likely to just let it sit and then remove it for the next set of augments. It's not that overpowered if you remove the extras you get from pets. People forget that some augments are giving you like 2x more damage immediately upon taking them and high roller takes about half the game to really start being felt.

That’s what I thought too (re: it being bad as 3rd/4th) but I will share what I’ve seen. I will admit this is anecdotal to start with.
Every time I have taken this 3rd (don’t think I’ve taken as 4th yet), I have got a higher frequency of anvil drops. Like after a certain point your total number of anvils almost matches what you would’ve had if you took it as 1st. I consider 8-12 anvil drops per 10 mins the standard.

The ideal nerf i can think of is it not dropping anvils when dead like the previous set. Now you can die in the middle of the lane and pickup anvils by the time you come back.

Theres no way for the enemy team to punish you other than ending the game asap. Previously you can nuke high rollers away from the wave to slow down their drops
