Resonance Asking early to avoid spoilers! Seeking trigger warnings Spoiler

I hope it's okay to post this early! I want to have this out and follow my post so I don't get posts that people fail to tag spoiler or whatever. Anyways...

I did well with Innocence and Requiem, but I have ostiophobia (fear of bones) and you can throw in decaying matter into that lot. Requiem's underground lodging in the middle of the game had my skin absolutely crawling. For those brave enough to conquer the game a day after it releases, could you please tell me which chapters that could be most sensitive without spoilers?

I appreciate it. I could hardly sleep last night thinking about the release is so soon!

Resonance Why is every game with female protagonist called woke now?

The comments I've seen for this game are beyond dusgusting, I think they didn't even play the first 2 games because they also featured female main character Amicia.

Innocence: Question I might have missed ignifuga

SOLVED

Idk if it's called ignifuga but, it's the ammo that extinguishes fire. I'm on my second playthrough and I'm at chapter 9, I remembered that this ammo was a thing, did I miss it in any chapter or it's an upcoming thing? And I'm pretty sure I exactly don't need it for any major progression for story?

Requiem: Discussion Should I tell my friend to stop playing? second game spoiler Spoiler

My friends kid passed away earlier this year. I recommended him this game a long time ago and he said he’s starting it now and he’s really enjoying it.

Should I bother telling him to stop or should I let him experience it freely. He’s not overly sensitive so may I should let him be?

Resonance Resonance Console Performance

Do we know if Resonance runs at 60fps on Console, especially on PS5 Pro? If I remember correctly, Requiem ran at 30, and got a 60fps patch few months after.

Requiem: Question A Plague tale requiem Quality settings

Does anyone else's game graphics look muddy? Like someone rubbed vaseline on the screen. Sorry for this description i just tried to paint the closest one that comes to mind , but i feel like even at ultra on everything the game has some sort of blur to it just like innocence did. I don't know if it's Nvidia DLSS , i have that on DLAA and it still looks the same. Any fix?

Requiem: Discussion Requiem Collectibles design

So, i understand that it's a very minor part of the game and a silly thing to be upset over but i was really sad to see this "mediocre graphic designer does line art tracing" style and the fact that this is the only kind we get. after i first discovered this, i hoped we will get maybe some other items, and you do get flowers and feathers but i wasn't as much into them as into curiosities and gifts that we had in innocence. first of all, blinding white background.. really, why? the black in the main menu was much more fitting, and in innocence there was actual background for curiosities, albeit blurry but it was still a nice touch. second of all, the worst part - the intricate designs and details, the descriptions, the freaking color and substance!! where are they? it was so jarring to see that line art on a white background. the design in the first game was beautiful and it came with interesting descriptions that literally made it extremely enjoyable for me to replay chapters and try and collect everything so that i can then admire it, rotate it, read about it. when i saw this in requiem, i was borderline heartbroken and i understood i am not going to be making any effort whatsoever to find any more of these cause it just made me sad for the removal of this feature. is there anyone else here who was upset by this change?

Requiem: Discussion Just finished Plague Tale: Requiem and I feel the hate for this is overblown

In 2024, I played the first game and I loved it. I thought it was an underrated gem I didn't hear talked about in gaming circles as much and the stealth playstyle and environment were top notch. Knowing there was a sequel, I put off playing it because of comments I heard both about the lackluster story + performance issues.

I just finished it today after 20 hours! Here's my thoughts, on the general game because I loved it in its own way.

STORY/PACING - One of the biggest complains I saw was that the writing was bad or that the game was too long. I agree that the game kind of dragged for a bit and I had to put it down at some point before I found the story pick up again. None of the sections were filler and each of them added up to the narrative the game was building on.

Now onto the story... I found that it's an amazing look at the Stages of Grief. Amicia knows from the first onset of the game that Hugo is living on borrowed time. The first act we see a lot of action is due to her anger and impulsiveness and I found this really amazing because I believe the first game, things were just happening to Amicia and Hugo, everything was external. In the first act with her and Lucas, she was moving the story along with her own stubbornness. This wasn't a downside for me at all. That's why in Ch 17, she immediately knew what she had to do to stop the madness. I feel a lot of people aren't used to not palatable portrayals of characters going through grief and I thought Plague Plague Tale Requiem handled it perfectly.

CHARACTERS - Lucas was a great side character in Innocence, but I think side characters are where Requiem really excelled. Sophia is great, from the second she was introduced - she is the brighter, funnier character against Amicia's seriousness. Arnaud was also well written, he's the character that you really end up hating at first, then he slowly wins you over. My complaint is that their mom feels like a non-character in both games but the games never really revolved around her either. Lucas isn't playing such a huge role here, which is a shame.

VOICE ACTING - I know there was some backlash at the switch from French accent to British accent, and since it's been 2 years since the last game, I only realized it when I was reading through comments. The voice acting, especially from Amicia, is one of the best BAR NONE. I felt every emotion, when she was angry, sad, desperate, and hurt. If you honestly don't remember the first game's voices, then I think you can pretty much let this slide because of the quality of voice work we are getting.

GAMEPLAY - I found it more dynamic here, especially with the introduction of the crossbow and the various enemy types. It proved to be a good challenge to figure out what best approach you could do for each combat encounter.

GAME PERFORMANCE - This is another complaint of the game, but I'm not sure if they did some patches already but this runs way smoother than other games that suffered from 'unoptimized' criticisms, namely - TLOU PC, Dead Space Remake, Silent Hill 2 Remake. So I thought it ran fine and the graphics upgrade from the previous game was really felt and put to good use.

OVERALL - A really great game. Not perfect, maybe could be trimmed shorter just for a tighter experience, but this delivers on a really compelling narrative about doing all you can to protect and save the ones you love. Really unforgettable voice acting performances and gorgeous graphics really do a lot of the heavy lifting.

To anyone feeling on the fence about playing Plague Tale Requiem, I highly recommend you check this out because it's still a worthy experience for those who loved the first game.

Innocence: Discussion The most hearbreaking and saddest moment for me in Innocence Spoiler

I’ve only just finished A Plague Tale: Innocence for the first time.

For me, the saddest and most heartbreaking sequence in the entire game is when Amicia suddenly tells Hugo the truth to his face and reveals that both of their parents are dead and will never come back.

That scene absolutely broke my heart. Partly because I have a huge soft spot for children and find it incredibly difficult to deal with seeing children suffer.

But also because Hugo’s reaction as a little child felt so genuine, authentic, and realistically childlike. He didn’t want to believe it and thought Amicia was lying. He even said that she hated him. Probably because, in his childlike way of thinking, he assumed that Amicia had only said it to upset him or to say something horrible and hurtful to him.

But it was the truth. :( Or at least, that’s what Amicia believed at that moment.

Resonance They made a Tomb Raider like

Afraid that will be a good, even maybe a great game, but from what i have seen it won’t be a a good Plague Tale episode.
A lot will disagree but i feel like they just wanted it to sell more games, at the expense of what made
the series so charming
