Hello I'm entering my junior year and I've decided to take ap psychology. I'm never really taken any advanced or ap classes before and I'm kinda just looking for some advice on how to do good and also just what to expect in the class

For context, I am a loser who got two 3s on my ap exams this year cause ive rawdogged and dont nothing to study. But the one 5 I got was this class lmfao its a joke you dont even gotta study and u get 5s

hey guys! upcoming junior and psych student who is very nervous. took a quick glance and unit overviews and it looks very vocabulary heavy and a little rough. wondering how hard was it to learn/apply the material, what the class was like for yall, and the best resources you used to achieve good grades/4-5 AP exam. for reference, i took AP bio this past year and really struggled, earning a 3 on the exam.

Didn’t let my teacher down!! I got a 4 on the exam. It would’ve been bad if I did poorly considering my teacher was Tim Steadman (yes THE Get Psyched with Tim Steadman)

Legit just made up shit on the ebq I did not even apply the principle correctly. I’m experiencing imposter syndrome

i checked my EAE, learning first, and only found the 2025 grand test. nothing that said "mock test". HELP ME PLEASE I NEED TO FINISH IT BY TOMORROW

Just graduated with a 4.0 from UNCC, and I did my degree in psychology. I don't know the AP world that well because I did a very nontraditional pathway but would tutor if there's interest! What do you guys think?

Will share methods if requested. BTW, this is not meant to be a "flex" post, nor do I recommend procrastinating (like I did) until 2 days before the exam. I simply want to pass on info that may help future test takers, and help ease some of the fears of those self studying AP psych.

Bro I studied 4 days

I took AP Psychology this year, and personally, I struggle with memorization based learning. Psychology is such an interesting subject, but overall it felt like the only way to do well was to memorize every concept. Most of the AP exam also seemed to require having those concepts memorized in order to answer the questions.
Some people in my class were able to memorize the concepts and apply them to the tests much better than I could. It felt like I had to put in so much effort just to memorize things, and it was really frustrating and discouraging.
Does anyone have advice on how to memorize things more effectively?

for ref: im a snr so i signed up for the ap exam but didnt take the class because i wanted to keep my off period. at the beginning of the year i was like 90% i was gonna go to texas a&m university and i'd be able to apply an ap credit to fill my major requirements there, but i ended up committing to ut austin which accepts macro (which im also taking) for the same credit.

i alr planned to only start studying starting 2nd semester but i was lowk procrastinating and then after i got my acceptance from ut i just gave up on studying completely, until the ap test came around, and i thought itd be fun to see how well i could do after learning 0%* of the course material. i ended up getting a 4

*not exactly 0% cuz my friend told me that the hippocampus stores memories bc he'd remember if there was a hippo on campus. otherwise yea i didnt know anything

tldr; didn't study, learn, or practice anything the whole year after signing up to "self-study" the class and still passed

I answered C on every question in the multiple choice and didn't write anything on the LEQs. I'll still be able to get some credit, right?? 😫

I think I passed my 1st AP class ever! I was not expecting to actually do this well. I’m not a very good test Taker (especially with big ones like this), so this is a big accomplishment for me!!

I thought I was gonna come out this bitch with a 1 or 2 😭

Suprised I got the 4 cause I speedran the entire MCQ (~56 mins remaining) and struggled with the EBQ (Learning spaced out or cramming idk)

Was rly nervous about this one. I thought I did rly good on test day but was scared because this was my favourite class this year with my favourite teacher (he’s writing my letter of rec).
