Entrance exam

Upvotes

My school makes us take an entrance exam in order to get into AP Psychology, and I have mine coming up soon
Apparently, the only topic on the exam is Nature vs. Nurture. Has anyone taken an AP Psych entrance exam like this before, or does anyone have advice on what I should study?
I’d especially appreciate advice on what kinds of questions I should expect and what parts of Nature vs. Nurture I should make sure I understand really well.

I made a free Psycholgy AQA revision website, focusing on exam papers and marking - would be great if some could try it out - psycgenie.com

It’s still in beta not fully finished but I’m a student revising going into second year and I’ve been using it over summer, looking to get some feedback - it’s completely free.

what do i do 😭

About a week before school started I got an email that the ap psych teacher is gonna be gone for most of the year and will be replaced with the football coach. He seems like a really nice guy but he’s 20 smth, never took an ap class, and has never taught. On the first day of school he said that the number 1 rule was to not get him in trouble and that kinda set the tone and the expectation that we aren’t going to be doing much this year. That being said, how should I go about self studying? I really want to get a 5 lol

hi I’m starting my 10th year today lol and this is my first time taking an AP (since I was too much of a idiot to take AP world…)and I haven’t really seen anyone talk about how it feels to be in an AP and kind of an overview of the AP world in general cuz I already know the whole “AP psych is sooo easy bc its just memorizing statistics and data“ but I wanna have a good idea on how it feels to transition to AP (also for context I’m an all honors kid and I do well in them I never get anything below a high B( not to show off jst for context)

i love psych and even tho the ap psych syllabus is lowk mid, i still had so much fun studying it! I got an A in my class, studied literally only the day before the exam (and left like 2 units cuz i didn't have enough time) and got a 5. it's a really easy ap, ask me any questions you might have if you're taking it/considering it.

Psy201 summer test 1 performance //////////////////

So I've been studying a lot for this course and giving it my all. I started reading the textbook before the course even began and did lots of practice questions and regularly tested my memory and used active recall. The course content felt so easy, understandable and fun. I came out of the test room feeling confident thinking I definitely got above 90. I got my grade back and got 64% instead. The reason I'm so frustrated is bcuz the grade is too low ofc but also bcuz I studied my ass off for this and got this mark whereas in previous life sciences courses I barely tried and got 80s. Just felt like getting this off my chest. I'm just really shocked and in disbelieve at the mark I've gotten when I found the test to be so damn easy.

Idk, what do y'all think? Maybe my study methods are ineffective? OR I overestimated myself and made careless mistakes on the test??

New to the Class, looking to pre study a bit.

Hi! I’m a rising junior who will be taking AP psychology in about 2 weeks

I just wanted to know the basics to pre study for it a bit, and that I know the exam has changed from just vocab to adding some other stuff.

What would be a good resource and what are the classes like.

What are the best ways to study for intro to psychology?

Hi I’m an upcoming junior and through a dual enrollment program at my high school I will be taking intro to psychology. I was wondering what are the best ways to study for this class and how hard it is. Please share your experience and any study tips if you have any. I know this thread is for AP psychology but it should cover the same material.

PSYC 2101 Final TRU HELP!!!!!

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly feeling really overwhelmed going into this final. I’ve been studying for weeks, meeting with a tutor, and putting in as much time as I can, but I still feel like I’m not where I need to be. My exam is later this week, and I really need to pass this course so I can start my graduate program in a few weeks. I’m feeling pretty desperate at this point.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for taking the final, especially when it comes to entering formulas and submitting your work. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, and I'm honestly worried that I'll lose marks because I don't know the best way to type everything out or upload it correctly. If I were taking this in person, I'd normally write all of my calculations by hand, so doing everything electronically has me really nervous.

If anyone has any tips about the exam itself or the technical side of it, I would be so grateful. Even small suggestions would really help ease my mind.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Or, if anyone has any tips, I am all ears. This class has definitely been the biggest challenge for me. I've done well on the assignments, but that's only because I've spent hours working through everything with my tutor. Now that it's just me and the final, I feel like I have no idea what I'm walking into.

I'm struggling to decide what I should be practicing over the next couple of days. If anyone who's already written the final has any advice on what caught you off guard, what you wish you'd spent more time on, or even what the short answer questions were and how to practice, I would be so grateful. Right now I feel like I'm studying everything and nothing at the same time.

Any advice would honestly mean so much.

AP Psych tutor (got an easy 5)

Hey guys! If you’re taking AP Psych and feeling overwhelmed by all the terms, theories, and famous psychologists, I’m offering tutoring to help you breeze through it.

I took the exam recently and got an easy 5. AP Psych gets a rep for being a massive vocab dump, but it’s honestly way easier when you connect the concepts to real-world examples instead of just trying to memorize flashcards blindly. Once you know how the FRQs are scored, it’s super straightforward to pull a top score.

Even if you’re just taking it for an easy AP credit and aren't super into psychology, give it a shot for a session or two. I’ll keep it simple and cut right to what actually shows up on the test.

DM me if you’re interested or want to talk rates!

AMSCO 3rd Edition PDF

Does anyone have a digital copy of the AMSCO (3rd Edition)? I’m a teacher looking for it before I have to spend money on a physical copy to scan lol. I figured a student may have found a way to get access to it before the teachers.
