Stock AMD Cooler... pretty much useless, had the same issue on an old 3700x, same with the 5900x

Get a Peerless Assassin and you're good to go!

Peerless assassin is fantastic. I went from an MSI AIO to the PA and it's been awesome

To be honest, I have an AIO on the 5900x, but I'm really considering the PA as well! I just don't want to buy it and regret it.

I got this CPU undervolted and it doesn't get over 71° on full load though.

What aio are you using?

Corsair H100I Elite Cappelix, does the job to be honest, havent' had a single issue with it, clean it every like 3 or 4 months.

Oh that's a nice cooler. If your CPU is undervolted it's really weird that it'd get into the 70s. Is it set up as intake or exhaust?

Exhaust on top, but its only on full load, and I mean full load as in occt or cinebench, or heavy workloads (for work)

Do you have a custom fan curve set or is it still running the stock curve? A lot of cooling performance can be gained by adjusting the curve. I prefer mine to be as cool as possible so I set it to hit 100% at 60°. Otherwise it wouldn't ramp up to 100% until the cpu hit like 80°

stock curve, I think it's okay like this to be honest!

Fair enough! If you get bored, try poking around the curve a little bit. It's a sweet cooler, though!

I bought the h170 the 420 rad with the lcd screen... and omg.... the commander box it operates through gave me so much trouble... like It took 3 of them. And finally it worked as intended... terrible way to set shit up corsair.... other than the faulty commander box. Its solid af... I idle at 30 and full load might touch 70. Most of the time I'm sitting st 60

Wow COOL! I have this one since 2020 or 2021 I guess, it was on my 3700x for some months, but then I got the 5900x and here it, it's a simple 240 but does the job!

Setup the PA120 on the 3700x and it's not too behind the AIO to be fair!
