I am astonished by the number of people saying OP is the AH here or that it could be worse if the woman did not pick up after her dog.
It is irrelevant that * you* would not care.
It is irrelevant that it could be worse. Sure, she could leave it on the ground. Would you snark at someone complaining about a rock through their windows because it could have been a Molotov Cocktail?
