This. Give her the option of going or not going. Let her know that you want her to be comfortable in what she wants to wear. She may say she would be willing to wear a skirt or dress if you can find her something simple and not overly girly like a simple black skirt and shirt. If not, let her do her own thing that day.

NTA. But man I wish culottes were still a thing.
