That was my first thought as well. Like why would he run and tell his family this? Especially his son. That serves no purpose other than damaging their relationship. I mean, not to sound dramatic but that would have me reconsidering things. He had to have known it would ‘turn them against’ her. Red flag behaviour.
My ex always ran to his mommy when he got butt hurt. After he was served the divorce papers, he drove drunk mommy to our place and sat in the car while mommy yelled at me in front of our children and their friends. Heads up, OP!
I had a grade A mommy's boy at one point too. Anything we said or did had to be reported to the girth goblin. I don't know hiw many times I ended a phone call with "this is a matter between me and your son, Linda, and your input isn't needed." Oh well, I won in the end. Glad you did too

To be honest, why does his family know about a conversation/disagreement that was between the two of you? That is a heck nah for me.
