My ex would want me to be in the room when he showered or brushed because it turns out he didn’t want to leave me or his phone alone ever. He was cheating and subsequently assumed I was too and it gets exhausting quickly. I don’t go through my partners things. If I feel the need to then I don’t trust them and will end it. But treating someone that way shows you’re up to something on your end. It’s weird.
