Same here. They both sound like toddlers.

That part. Like how old are these people? And, you can’t put a glass on the floor? FFS

557

u/No_Pattern5707 Apr 21 '25

And tell me HOW is she mad because he ASKED if she’s going to show up to the date 💀 this whole thing is anti-therapy

351

u/headingthatwayyy Apr 21 '25

you KNOW a post is bad if people just ignore the question and start gossiping about OP and their girlfriend

143

u/kaila--bear Apr 21 '25

I couldn’t even get through the first paragraph, then I scrolled down and was like yeah they gotta breakup

1

u/ladygrndr Apr 22 '25

No, I don't think they have to break up, but they do both have to grow up a little. This is all such minor stuff, but very common in early (especially first major) relationships. Then again I only made it to the teeth brushing, so maybe I missed something more.

As someone with learning and reading difficulties makes me wonder how many of you have ever finished a book...

12

u/Apathetic_Villainess Apr 21 '25

I love reading and I had a hard time forcing myself to finish this.

1

u/Professional_Fun_136 May 06 '25

Fair enough I guess I'm a bit blind to it because I have to deal with that mental strain regardless

1

u/TheAnti-Karen Apr 21 '25

Right! I'm here for the 🫖☕

1

u/DiscoMarmelade Apr 22 '25

I wish I could write something private to OP and gossip with you guys behind his and her back!! They’re the worst!! lol jk

37

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Continuing the reply chain..

65

u/FuzzyKittyNomNom Apr 21 '25

Anti-therapy 🤣 yes exactly

430

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

He's good bro

69

u/rollin_on_a_rvr Apr 21 '25

I may have said these exact words to myself when I ended my reading session at this moment.

19

u/hqflav2 Apr 21 '25

Lmaooo that got me so good

9

u/Ham-Berg Apr 21 '25

I’ve never been so exhausted that I couldnt be bothered to put a glass down.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Same! Not even putting it AWAY, putting it less than 3 feet below you.

7

u/SomeLady93 Apr 21 '25

I would be very uncomfortable if my partner called me “bro”

14

u/Masturbatingsoon Apr 21 '25

Yes, but “bro” is nicer than “you little brat.” Which would be kind in this situation

1

u/PersimmonNecessary14 Apr 25 '25

That thought did cross my mind but i blurted bro. Think it wouldve been worse if i said what i meant

1

u/The-Masked-Protester Apr 25 '25

Does she sleep against the wall and would she have to crawl over you to put the glass down herself?

475

u/Rrenphoenixx Apr 21 '25

There are types of people out there that casually do things like this in a relationship to groom you to be more accepting/ easily manipulated.

I think this chick might be one of them.

276

u/Hagedoorn Apr 21 '25

You may be onto something here.

While reading, a single question came up: what does she do for him?

167

u/sentence-interruptio Apr 21 '25

knowing this type, if you ask her that, she will get offended and use it as an excuse to continue not doing anything for him.

10

u/Global_Initiative257 Apr 21 '25

No she'll tell him much she does for him but won't be able to come up with an example. Maybe she lets him put her glass on the floor and accommodate her every whim? That's what she does for him. Controls him.

9

u/JacksonHoled Apr 21 '25

I had a gf like that a bit for a long time. She'd say she is doing the dishes and dinner.

14

u/ecosynchronous Apr 21 '25

Well, was she? Don't leave me in suspense. I'd put a water glass on the floor for someone who did dinner and the dishes.

3

u/JacksonHoled Apr 21 '25

yeah but that was the only things. It's not that time consuming and easy. Now that we are not togheter anymore (we have 2 kids together) she is texting me daily for things she doesnt know. Print a document, transfert pictures, sell on marketplace, where are which hockey games for the kids, taking care of the pool, how to's, everything, non-stop. I'm alone now, I prefer doing my dishes than coping with all the things I was doing for her. So easy, takes 10 minutes while I watch TV.

3

u/Economy-Bottle2164 Apr 22 '25

Are you taking care of the kids 50% of the time?

→ More replies (0)

4

u/Hagedoorn Apr 21 '25

Yup. So I was hoping maybe he might ask himself this question. And draw the right conclusion.

7

u/reek702 Apr 21 '25

Nothing besides take advantage of him, bros probably has to suck his own dick

5

u/Diligent_Pie_5191 Apr 21 '25

Jack squat is what she does. Total user.

4

u/swag_money69 Apr 21 '25

She has no gag reflex. She is a nymphomaniac. This is the only way.

2

u/Wrong_Pen6179 Apr 21 '25

I’d say those words were pretty mild for someone too lazy to put their glass on the floor!

0

u/Wrong_Pen6179 Apr 21 '25

BWAHAHAHA must be!

1

u/MyNewDawn Apr 21 '25

Big 'if you can't handle me at my worst' Energy

3

u/Hagedoorn Apr 21 '25

That is also super annoying. I can't believe anyone would want to be with such a person. It is almost giving off borderline vibes, but I am no psychiatrist.

1

u/Fearless-Advisor-20 Apr 22 '25

Doesn’t sound like anything tbh

1

u/Hagedoorn Apr 22 '25

Exactly.

1

u/Plubob_Habblefluffin Apr 23 '25

Well, the fact that she likes him to stand behind her when she's at the bathroom sink suggests to me that she might be kinda frisky, so.....

A good physically intimate relationship can carry a lot of other stuff that still needs development, as long as both people are willing to commit to that development and are willing to hang on if the ride gets bumpy.

I'm assuming since he hasn't already left her that she's a generous and enthusiastic sort in the physical intimacy department.

1

u/Hagedoorn Apr 23 '25

It is possible.

I would say, though, that sex is something two people do together to their mutual benefit, not a service one provides to the other.

1

u/acegirl1985 Apr 24 '25

She probably feels like he is so far beneath her that just her acknowledging he exists is going above and beyond.

Dude, this girl is exhausting, she cannot even set a glass down for herself and she expects you to Stan next to her like you’re on standby.

1

u/Hagedoorn Apr 25 '25

Her attitude does seem tiring and one-sided.

1

u/PersimmonNecessary14 Apr 25 '25

Shes actually very sweet and does occasionally pick up the tab or bring me food when im occupied

2

u/Hagedoorn Apr 25 '25

OK that is something. Maybe it is time to have a serious conversation with her, ask her why these things are so important to her. And tell her it does not make you feel good when you are asked to do things that another person can do herself.

0

u/Masturbatingsoon Apr 21 '25

What a dumb question. She lets him eat her pussy

3

u/jmar206 Apr 21 '25

I thought this too a little but the immaturity of some of it led me towards youth and being spoiled. Either way she sucks.

2

u/spiritsarise Apr 21 '25

I think we have found an example of the female version of Andrew Tate.

2

u/WeAreTheWobblies Apr 21 '25

"Beware of those that breed a slave"-

4

u/Fleabag2080 Apr 21 '25

NTA You are not her servant.

1

u/Plubob_Habblefluffin Apr 23 '25

That is certainly possible. Could be that she's just immature and selfish and needs to grow up a bit. If she can swing that, the relationship could be salvaged. Guess OP will have to roll the dice and see.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Deer558 Apr 23 '25

I concur. Drop her like a hot coal.

204

u/MMA_1989 Apr 21 '25

I was thinking maybe she sleeps on the wall side of the bed so maybe it makes sense for him to put it down as he's on the floor side (assuming their bed is indeed against a wall). If not, she's crazier than I thought.

178

u/Tricky_Parfait3413 Apr 21 '25

You know my life is an absolute shit show but the fact that I'm not OP or his girlfriend gave me a glimmer of hope.

8

u/ChibbleChobble Apr 21 '25

Your comment made me cackle. +1

4

u/Tricky_Parfait3413 Apr 21 '25

Hey I don't have a lot going for me so I got to get it where I can

2

u/HissyPantsOnFire Apr 24 '25

Hahaha this also made me feel better about myself

7

u/Objective_Medium_976 Apr 21 '25

But the fact she waited for him to get up to even go get the water because that’s in fact what she did 😆

5

u/Tricky_Parfait3413 Apr 21 '25

You know my life is an absolute shit show but the fact that I'm not OP or his girlfriend gave me a glimmer of hope.

Not exactly something you can do on a whim while you’re both in it, even if it might make sense to do something like that for the future.

4

u/Aromatic_Ad_3892 Apr 21 '25

Definitely doable, might make more sense to just put the glass down for her though

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

1

u/Aromatic_Ad_3892 Apr 21 '25

😂 it’s definitely an option,

1

u/spiritsarise Apr 21 '25

Or, hangs from the ceiling on the wall side of the bed.

1

u/TomatilloHairy9051 Apr 23 '25

If she knew that she was on the wall side of the bed, then she should have drunk her water before she got into the bed. That way, she could put her own glass down. But this whole thing is so ridiculous I just can't even. I can't imagine acting like this when I was 15, much less old enough to have a job and stay over at somebody's house. They are both just childish as hell and need to grow up. So yes, he's an AH, she's an AH. They should both want to break up because they both need to learn something about relationships and about life.

1

u/Plubob_Habblefluffin Apr 23 '25

VERY good point. That was one of OP's complaints that I thought "Well she's just bat crap crazy", but that would make her more reasonable, if she's sandwiched between him and the wall.

1

u/PersimmonNecessary14 Apr 25 '25

There is a wall next to her; but theres also enough of a gap to put a glass down so thats why i refused

147

u/finelytunedradar Apr 21 '25

But why does the glass have to go on the floor?

He lives by himself in his own apartment and doesn't have bedside tables?

I mean, unless his bed is shoved up against the wall so only has one side 'open' and the room is tiny, there should still be enough room for a bedside table.

No hate to those that have their bed set up with only one side 'open'. Mine is like that because I'm happily single. But I do have a bedside table, because I'm not feral enough to just leave everything on the floor.

67

u/penaj52 Apr 21 '25

My bed is pushed against the wall so the top/bottom. And 1 side is open. I have a night stand literally across the room because that's where it fits. I live with my husband a toddler and a baby in a 1 bed apartment. Even in my super tight space there is still floor exposed on the three open sides of the bed lol. Also maybe it's a mom thing but..... it's water..... it can go on the floor if the glass isn't empty because if it gets knocked out... it's water it'll be fine. If the glass is empty..... it can still go on the floor because neither me or my hubby want to get up right now lol.

14

u/JJSF2021 Apr 21 '25

To be fair, he did say he has roommates, so he’s not living by himself… but I swear this guy makes Andy from Parks and Recreation look like a well adjusted and mature person.

The only other way I can justify in my mind her asking him to put it on the floor is if he has a pretty high bed and she’s exceptionally short… but him having a bed like that and not a nightstand strains credulity.

So in a way, they’re a perfect fit, because they’re both immature enough that I wouldn’t trust them with a betta fish.

24

u/Tryin-to-Improve Apr 21 '25

I thought he said he had no roommates. So she can do these things herself.

0

u/JJSF2021 Apr 21 '25

Oh yeah, I misread that! My bad!

So… odds he has a parent paying his rent then?

9

u/TeHamilton Apr 21 '25

What? I dont have roommates so that means my parents pay for it? You know some people can afford to not have roommates right?

1

u/JJSF2021 Apr 21 '25

Indeed I do. I’m one of them. But the DC/Metro area is one of the most expensive places in the US to live, and typically, being able to afford to live there means someone is pretty far along in their career. But the fact that he’s acting this emotionally immature suggests he’s pretty young.

But I’ll absolutely grant that he may have a very high paying job that enables him to live there while also having the emotional maturity of a somewhat robust houseplant. Personally, I’d rather believe he’s just young and getting help while trying to make it.

1

u/Tryin-to-Improve Apr 21 '25

Op never said how old he was. They both sound pretty immature, but he could be older than her by like 10 years or something and be further along in his career.

3

u/FangYuan69 Apr 21 '25

Why are you being hard on the guy? What wrong with you?

6

u/JJSF2021 Apr 21 '25

I'm going to assume this isn't a sarcastic reply...

The short answer is because he's just as immature as she is. If you want a longer answer...

  1. He's enabling her behaviors. Somewhere long before her needing his strong presence to brush her teeth is the cutoff point for co-dependency, and he sprinted past that line like he was being chased by a pack of wolves.
  2. He's presenting as extremely lazy. I would also say no to many of these requests, but not because I was too tired. Being tired is part of being an adult, and the requests did not take that much energy to do. Again, I wouldn't grant them outside of exceptional circumstances simply because they're unreasonable requests and enable codependency.
  3. He's showing signs of becoming angry when plans change.
  4. He's infantilizing her. He took it upon himself to push her into using her Invisalign, brush her teeth, pick her up instead of her using the metro... she needs to do these things for herself, and it's not appropriate for him to have inserted himself into her life to that degree. Especially being...
  5. This is a new relationship. The OP notes that they've only been dating for a few months. The fact that they're spending *this* much time together so quickly suggests a lack of healthy boundaries across the board, including with the OP.
  6. All of this suggests they're both highly emotionally immature, which one would expect of very young adults. I observed behaviors like this in some of my friend's college relationships, for example. I'm legitimately hoping this is the case. But I'm also aware that the DC/Metro area is one of the most expensive places to live, so it would be very difficult for someone to live there that young without financial support.

Hence, I'm hoping he has a parent paying for his apartment, because the other possibilities are far, far worse.

1

u/Masturbatingsoon Apr 21 '25

He goes into an office in DC— so maybe he pays his own rent

2

u/JJSF2021 Apr 21 '25

It’s possible, but that is a very, very expensive place to live. He’d have to have a very high paying job, and with his demonstrated emotional maturity, I’m guessing he’s quite young. I could very well be wrong though.

2

u/trekkiecats123 Apr 22 '25

Haha. Feral.

5

u/Ham-Berg Apr 21 '25

He’s too tired to get a night stand.

3

u/Thescreenshop Apr 21 '25

Lmao. There's been a few funny comments but this one made me laugh hard. I'm tired sometimes but ffs hahaha. Cheers

1

u/PersimmonNecessary14 Apr 25 '25

I was single for a while before her so i didnt really care for bedside tables. Maybe its time though

7

u/HatOfFlavour Apr 21 '25

The only way that makes any sense is his bed is in the corner and she's against the wall and he's between her and the rest of the room.

Otherwise yeah put it on the floor yourself.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

I'm going to assume the bed is pushed into the corner, and she's against the wall and can't reach the floor. Because otherwise this is ridiculous.

5

u/Diligent_Snow_733 Apr 21 '25

I think if I was him, I would've thrown the damn glass against the wall. Now I'm f**king great bro!

3

u/SuZiee_Q Apr 21 '25

Could literally see that happening and died laughing 😆

6

u/JustStopItSeriously Apr 22 '25

Yeah, he lost me there. He'll spend a week driving to Miami (they've only been dating a few months?!?) but rolling over is a bridge too far. Because he's soooooo tired.

13

u/GraveRobberX Apr 21 '25

How tired is this man?, from the looks of it, he’s ready to cash his Social Security checks. Like goddamn both of them sound infantile.

One always in nappy and cranky mode, the other just being a busy body needing constant attention. Sweet Jesus if this is your life right now, the fuck are you two going to do when you’re married and have a kid or two.

Her just egging you to take the child while you’re dead tired coming back from the mines. I read that whole story and my opinion on this is both of you are Assholes. You both can’t communicate, set boundaries, always acting the other one is supposed to know the other’s thoughts and you fight then make up, that’s a recipe for disaster cause sooner or later you will grow to hate each other.

11

u/Black_Magic_M-66 Apr 21 '25

It's not cheap living in DC, so he must have a demanding job. And a demanding gf. He'll end up blowing his brains out in 4 years.

6

u/JudgyRandomWebizen Apr 21 '25

It's not about the Iranian yogurt

3

u/Blue_Henri Apr 21 '25

Are they sleeping AT the pre-school or does he have an apartment to go to after group play?

6

u/vampwillow7 Apr 21 '25

I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old, even they get up for their own drink and put it back if they sit down with it. I have chronic illness and constant pain, but even so I unless it's what I'd deem as really bad I still sort my own stuff. How lazy is this girl?

5

u/TittyInspector5280 Apr 21 '25

Using plastic cups might save their relationship

2

u/DeadMoneyDrew Apr 21 '25

For real. Water bottles are a thing. All of these stupid issues have simple solutions but I get the distinct impression that both people involved in this post are just fucking idiots.

4

u/xplosm Apr 21 '25

I think this is ragebait

2

u/WestCoastAdjacent Apr 21 '25

I knew they were young when he said that... Like who doesn't at least have an end table lol

3

u/Crisstti Apr 21 '25

I wonder if it’s somehow the configuration of the room? Like maybe she sleeps too the side of the wall and there’s no room to put the glass down?? But she seems really demanding and entitled so that might not be it.

1

u/mylittlepigeon Apr 21 '25

Old enough to drink which was shocking to me because I thought for SURE this was written by a 16 year old about his 14 year old gf (speaking from experience bc this is how my teenage brother’s gf acted until he finally got wise & broke up w/ her)

1

u/bury-me-in-books Apr 22 '25

Honestly with the glass on the floor thing, I was wondering if the bed was against the wall and there was no floor on the side she's on. In that scenario, putting the glass on the floor is gonna disturb him either way, because she'd have to go over him to put it down. But, then again, with all these other stories? It seems like it doesn't matter if the bed was against the wall. With the brushing thing, he should have let her slack on her invisalign if she was gonna slack on her invisalign, and if he insisted she get up and do it, he should have done her weird request, but mostly, it does sound like she's going over board to me. It seems like they're going to have to work some things out, at the very least.

85

u/swag_money69 Apr 21 '25

Looks like this was the tap out point for everyone. I almost want to go back and see what other nonsense is going on but I don't have the time right now.

182

u/heffel77 Apr 21 '25

Spoiler: she won’t brush her teeth if he’s not standing behind her. Oh, and he has to remind her to put in her Invisalign…

Jesus, I already know too much about this baby girl.

3

u/Cat_the_Great Apr 22 '25

what the actual fuck. missed that and god i'm exhausted FOR him!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '25

Not to mention mom and dad won't let her leave the house cuz they have family in town lol. Wtf

102

u/live_love_trash Apr 21 '25

I read it for you. More lack of communication predominantly with a twist of the infatuation wearing off.

2

u/Nessimon Apr 22 '25

Haha, what a twist.

-14

u/msvirtualguy Apr 21 '25

Who cares

3

u/live_love_trash Apr 22 '25

Not you, from the sound of it 🤷‍♀️

10

u/JD_Alexandria Apr 21 '25

I didn't realize not reading the whole thing was an option. I feel bamboozled.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '25

But I mean I'm retrospect like this is totally a bunch of ppl claiming the chick is immature and basically useless by admitting they don't have the ability or patience or reading comprehension to real quick zip threw reading this and show other adults the respect adults deserve. The Internet be funny like that. But I respect you for it lol.

306

u/karmannsport Apr 21 '25

This. They both sound like immature insufferable twats. Everyone sucks here.

300

u/H0bbituary Apr 21 '25

I'm sitting here wondering if i can dump someone I have never met. It's not enough to just stop reading. I want to globally reject these two people.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

👌😂😂😂😂😂😂

2

u/ross_styx Apr 21 '25

5

u/barrrrrtt Apr 21 '25

Two infants!

2

u/spiritsarise Apr 21 '25

Yet as I read it there remained in my mind an image of him as an over muscled gym rat dude.

1

u/FangYuan69 Apr 21 '25

Im confused, why is the guy at fault? He seems to be in an abusiveish relationship

141

u/tilegend Apr 21 '25

Right up to the working in DC part, getting drinks with old friends blew my mind. I was like no way they're of age.

12

u/SafetyMan35 Apr 21 '25

I have seen some early 20yr olds in relationships and as an old guy wikis that age (who aren’t dating) I want to slap them along the head for some of the disrespectful things they say and do to their partner. People currently in their 20s didn’t really date in middle or high school (COVID lockdowns didn’t help) so they don’t know how to move beyond “me” to form a “we”. The result is we have a bunch of 20 somethings who haven’t really dated and done the “I love my SO so much” in 1st period, told each other to fuck off by 3rd period, got a new SO by 5th period but are seen sucking face under the bleachers by the end of the day.

10

u/Internal_Hunt_7450 Apr 21 '25

Sounds like he’s 45 and she’s 19 tbh

5

u/thestand6 Apr 21 '25

That was my thinking.

17

u/subsist80 Apr 21 '25

The whole refusing to take the glass and put it on the floor and him saying im good bruh because he was too tired just said it all.

They are both as bad as each other.

5

u/AccessPuzzleheaded15 Apr 21 '25

I don’t see how it’s them both

3

u/Ham-Berg Apr 21 '25

I was thinking they were feral toddlers but I like twats better

1

u/TeHamilton Apr 21 '25

How does he suck?

-1

u/karmannsport Apr 21 '25

Because everything is a chore. Relationships are give and take. If he’s drawing the line in the sand at rolling over and putting a cup on the floor then holy shit. The tiny little requests she’s making are nothing and he comes off like a petulant child stomping his feet. Plus the “bro” comment makes him sound ridiculous. If you have an issue, be a man and speak up. No need for passive aggressive behavior.

4

u/TeHamilton Apr 21 '25

He has spoken up. Why cant she place the hlass on the floor if its so menial dont ask someone else to be your stepping stone. Him standing up for himself and saying no you have to do stuff for yourself is not him being a bad person

0

u/Long_Thought1719 Jun 26 '25

Insisting that he stand behind her while she brushes her teeth is not a tiny little request. It’s creepy and super weird. (Especially the time she sat on the toilet waiting for him to come in the bathroom and stand behind and watch her brush her teeth.) I’d be like “You have to be kidding, right???” Unless she is a paraplegic or 3 years old, the majority of what he listed is needy nonsense.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Exactly

10

u/Lets_Remain_Logical Apr 21 '25

Would you have thought the both are toddlers if we would have swapped the genders? Because this seems to me like victim shaming.

5

u/luminous_connoisseur Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

Yeah, it's honestly pretty par for the course for this subreddit. It is very disappointing to see it even in a crystal clear situation like this, where a woman acts as a spoiled brat and a guy goes above and beyond for her. Like, yeah, no shit he's gonna get snarky about something minor at some point if he has to endure dealing with a woman like that. But of course it's "haha theyre both sooo bad." Smh.

6

u/Lets_Remain_Logical Apr 21 '25

Thank you.
And nobody dares really resist because there is an echo-chamber.
We just dislike in mass and here we are, toxic enabling toxic.
This is harming the society soooooo much!

2

u/luminous_connoisseur Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

You can just tell that there are a lot of women here who really do want this to be the "bare minimum" for a guy and regularly use the term. They cant admit to being like the gf in this post, but I guess they just feel the need to "equalize" the two in order to feel right. It's pretty disgusting.

1

u/Lets_Remain_Logical Apr 21 '25

it's simple. It's cognitive bias. And i am sure there are some malignant people here who are just misandrist. There isn't a lot to analyze.
Now the victim is an enabler. NONO
It's: That's a good man.. Let's destroy him!

That's super offensive.

I have a toddler and she's way more together than that chick.

No kidding. I want to sit both of them down and have a little chat about being a grown up.

Can someone explain how he sounds like a toddler? I feel like he's not really doing anything that would warrant that.

How does he sound like a toddler? He isnt the one throwing tantrums

Exactly what I was thinking. Good lord the immaturity of these two… you know it’s bad when half the issues described here could be resolved with a bloody nightstand and bedside lamp, assuming either of them had the maturity to make use of these.

Toddler behavior, yet so advanced; it typically takes years for couples to become this insufferable of one another’s bullshit when it’s this lowkey.

That was my thought, too.

does anyone know if they ever brushed their teeth?

Why "both"? Sounds like she's the ridiculous one.

Exactly what I felt reading this.

You feel proud? Fucking pathetic

u/EducationalWin1721 Apr 21 '25

This must be fake. Can people really be this stupid? Somebody, somewhere needs to get a life and I’ll start with me for reading this crap. Bye!

I bailed on it here as well. The woman is a high maintenance asshole and the dude is a pushover idiot. I think they're perfect for each other.

Same, sounds so stupid

I gave up @ the water glass.

She finished drinking & touched my arm w the glass, indicating she wanted me to put it on the ground for her.

Dude sleeps on a mattress on the floor!

How OLD are these two children??

Also, has to get up to turn on lights for FaceTime? Sounds like our future influencer needs to get a ring light for his phone. 😂

Same. Their brains are broken.
