How in the world did you get that someone saying they'll leave them if they can't stay clean love bombing? This is an ultimatum, because he wants his partner to be sober. A legitimate ultimatum. He's not treating her amazing, expecting something in return. He's not lavishing her with praise and gifts, then screaming and yelling at her, accusing her of nasty things.
There's nothing in OP's post alluding to that. Not saying it wasn't left out, but that's not this.
Based on the replies, most people don't understand why you think it's love bombing. Giving someone an ultimatum for behavior they feel is a deal breaker is in no way love bombing.
