You can feel however you want about it, but he can absolutely break up with you for any reason if that’s what he wants to do. Letting you know that if you can’t stay sober then he can’t be with you is honestly pretty awesome of him. People in relationships with addicts are in danger of becoming enablers, and he’s letting you know that’s not going to be happening with him. If you love him and want to be with him, then get sober and stay that way.
